Does Your Goal Enhance Your Overall Quality of Life?

So many people struggle with the issue of time management.

“There’s so much to do!”

“It takes so long!”

“So many little things!”

What many of these people don’t realize is that they are spending a lot of time on activities that are of little or no value to them. In this case, the problem isn’t with their time, it’s with their choice of activities.

If you were to ask a time-troubled individual, “How many of these tasks are part of one of your goal plans?” chances are good you would get a blank stare.

It’s easy to fill up your time. It’s a little more challenging to fill it up with value-rich activities.

In a recent discussion with a client about her time management issues, I told her this:

“Technically, there is no such thing as time management. Time cannot be managed. It cannot be saved, and you most certainly can’t ‘make’ time. You can only spend it as it comes in.

“It’s important that you learn how to ’spend’ it wisely. Don’t waste time on activities that don’t have any value to you. Learn to say ‘no’. Set goals that help you use your time effectively, and that enhance your quality of life. Always be moving forward.”

When you decide to set a goal, you must think very carefully about your reason for choosing that goal. Ask yourself:

Does this goal enhance my overall quality of life?

Does it move me forward?

Will it make other opportunities available for me in the future?”

If the answer to any of these is no, seriously re-evaluate your goal.

If you are already in the process of working on achieving a particular goal, and you are struggling, ask yourself the above questions. Struggle can be a sign that your goals are not aligned with your lifestyle, that you are not passionate about achieving your goal, that your goal does not move you in the direction that you want to go, or that you need a more structured plan for achieving your goal.

Perhaps at one point, you WERE passionate about a particular goal, but after several years and many changes to your lifestyle and career, the goal just isn’t that important to you anymore. Don’t beat yourself up over it - cut your losses!

Each day is a brand new opportunity to create the future you will live into. When you select goals that enhance your quality of life, that future is a marvelous one.

Perfection the Un-Live-Able Goal

When we have a thought or idea that we want to do or get across, we have to communicate to other people. Many do not get past this stage of wanting to, for they decide that they will wait until everything is perfect before they tell anyone or do anything.

I have heard people say that they’ll start when they have more money, time, learn more, practice more, when the kids are older, etc, etc, etc. The challenge with this is there is no perfect time. The best time to get started is now. Yes, you may need to be selective at first with whom you talk to as there are negative people out there who may try to stop you or shut you down. Yet, I have found that most people shut themselves down by their fears and need to have everything just so.

I was talking to this lady who wanted to go on a job interview. She had spoken to her sister about the interview. Her sister replied, “make sure you do the interview perfect, because in this city people know each other and if you blow it, you can kiss your career goodbye”.
WOW, no pressure there. Going into an interview with that in your mind is a good way to blow it. You will probably be terrified, which can cause the mistakes you are trying to
prevent.

I have heard things like this before, yet most people are not sitting there just waiting to crush other people who come in. I have found that most are kind, generous and helpful. What you need is encouragement and just to do your best. The world does not end with a bad interview.

Reality is much brighter when you look at the most successful people out there. They repeatedly said that they failed there way to the top, that they learned by their mistakes and went on. There are millionaires that lost everything, brushed themselves off and then created more millions. They talked to people and connected with them. You can’t succeed by being a hermit.

We are not born with all knowledge on all things. We are not robots, calculating our every move. We are human beings that learn by what we do. We discover by how we interact. We learn
when we communicate our thoughts and ideas.

Are there nay sayers out there? Yes, run from them. Find the ones who are looking forward to hearing from you and wish to encourage you. You will always learn more and communicate more with positive and encouraging people.

I remember this one day I was sitting in the car, waiting for my partner while he ran into the store. The following just flowed out onto the paper.

ABOUT PERFECTION

It is in the trying and being that makes us human. It is the journey not the end that tells us who we are and what we are made of. Perfection is not a means, it leaves no room for
variation, creativity and understanding of the process. It is through the trial and error that we gain knowledge and wisdom.
We remember and learn more through our mistakes than by what we do perfect. For if everything were perfect, done perfect, there would be no journey, no life, no adventure,…only an end.

To Reach Goals: Bypass Resistance & Gather Assistance

To reach goals, consider this illustration: If you see roadblocks up ahead on a journey you take a diversion. No one in their right mind would just drive on and hit the obstacle head on just hoping they get through!

Bypass Resistance

When you set a goal and if you are going to successfully reach goals, you need to write down a list of potential obstacles you may face.

Are there people who won’t understand your goal and discourage you?

Do physical limitations or unfavorable circumstances stand in the way?

Then list them, analyze them and develop a strategy.

With a roadblock you can turn off before you get there or go over, under and around.

Do the same with obstacles that may seem to make it impossible for you to reach goals you have set.

Is there any way you can bypass the objects of resistance you are likely to face?

Preparation like this is invaluable.

If and when you reach the obstacle you know what to do.

You have already made up a contingency plan so you can move ahead and reach goals you have set!

Gather Assistance

At the same time, it is important to identify the knowledge you will need to acquire or the people or organizations that could give you essential help to reach goals before you.

Research the subject and educate yourself.

Become knowledgeable on what you are trying to achieve.

Do you personally know people who have accomplished what you are seeking?

Talk to them. Get input.

Ask:

How did they do it?

How did they feel once they were able to reach goals they had worked towards?

Can you link up with other persons in that field?

What organizations exist with support or information you could use?

The internet is almost a bottomless ocean of knowledge. Through persistence you can find pretty well anything you need to know.

So, to reach goals, bypass resistance and gather assistance.

Including these two elements in your goal setting can make the difference between a failed attempt at the target and a bull’s eye!

How Do You Find the Best Deals Online?

Filed under:Ultimate Consumer, Commerce Compass — posted on @ 3:25 am

How do you find the best deal on-line? You may choose to head straight to a price comparison site or go through hours of searching? One method which has largely gone un-noticed in recent years is the discount voucher code. These codes have taken the offers which are available on the high street and made them available to the on-line shopper.

With many high street brands successfully making the transfer to on-line retailing the choice of goods available to the on-line shopper has never been better but one aspect that didn’t follow the trend was the discount card. With discount voucher codes the same offers that are available in the high street are available on-line.

Using discount codes or vouchers is as simple as using a discount card in the store. There are numerous sites out there that have direct relationships with large and small retailers and get exclusive access to the latest codes.

Finding the latest codes is an important skill if you wish to save money on-line and once you have that code the rest of the transaction is simple. Once you have your code noted down simply head to the retailers’ site and complete you purchase as normal but making sure to enter the code when prompted.

Discount voucher codes offer you the best deals on-line and are a far more effective alternative to the price comparison site or search engine.

Find below two sites I use for getting these discount voucher code deals.

Get Some Performance Coaching to See Eye-opening Results

Personal coaching is a term that has become very popular over the last 8 years. The term coaching first became preferred in the United States where, together with NLP, it became part of a revived incredible wave of incredibly proactive therapy modalities.

In many ways both Life Coaching and Neuro Linguistic Programming are a reaction against certain aspects of the Humanistic movement, in particular Humanistic Counselling. A problem of the humanistic and person centred approach is that it is very reactive and not very proactive. Although all that works brilliant with some folk, with other people long periods of impasse or low return for time and effort occur. Coaching and NLP are both humanistic therapy in stance, focusing on improving a clients happiness rather than looking into the depths of childhood, as in traditional psychology. Life coachings emphasis is, however, deliberately proactive and resolve issues.

Lifestyle coaching is not about telling the customer what to do. This is a common misconception. Some therapists are legitimately successful in their business careers and then make the cross over to success coaching, thinking that they will merely be required to share their pearls of excellent wise wisdom with the life coaching client. Sharing pearls of wisdom is more like mentoring a person in a specific environment. Performance coaching is instead about life as a collective. Use Easily Achieve to gain success with a life coach.

Think of a party of fanatics applauding a given chosen sports heroes, and all the time stakes are certain to be advertised to go with the rumpus. Keen to get some of the anticipation, onlookers will commonly aspire to foreknow who is most likely to win the imminent challennge. This all is set to turn into a chummy little challennge titled web based sportsbook.

If you want to place your bet, you will want to look up a web based sportsbook, i.e. a setup that offers web based sportsbook. In the U.S., there are no less than four states where everybody can do sportsbook betting absolutely legally, but illegally you can attempt it just about anywhere providing you determine a bookie AND you’re a legal adult. Among the sporting contests you can choose to bet on are professional and, in addition, college basketball and football, professional hockey and baseball, and, in addition, wagers on both dog and horse racing. You’ll be able to wager on the comprehensive results of a game, on what round the contestant will be vanquished, and even whether a coin toss in a game will come down heads or tails.

As can be expected, there are so many different manners of wagers, the straight bets, where you have to determine the team which you feel will make it or take a licking being the general favorite in sportsbook betting.

So why not go for it, and enjoy the amusement at one fell swoop. But safeguard you won’t get gripped and waste your total retirement fund on a caprice. If you don’t, you will certainly catch yourself in grief all your life.

Personal Success Through Goal Setting

Setting goals and objectives is a process which has very wide application in business, and it was certainly a part of my own business training which I had to put into practice regularly in the years that followed. Some of the better businesses and organizations will also incorporate personal goal setting into staff development, as part of the personnel (human) resources routine. But what about you as an individual? Can you use goal setting as a tool to help you achieve success?

Goal setting can, indeed, be a very useful, sometimes powerful assistant to your personal success. If you incorporate goals and objectives into your personal planning, whether short or long term, then your road to success will have a better foundation.

Success? Success at what? That is entirely up to you. If there is something in life you want to succeed at, then there will no doubt be some goals you can set to help you along the way; like stepping stones across a river when success is the opposite bank. In reality, you can apply goal setting techniques to any part of your life, whether it is to do with work, personal relationships, where you want to live, or a personal hobby or interest. So long as you set realistic goals at each stage, then they can be a very strong personal incentive, which will prepare you for the next stage. Eventually you will be able to look back and see how far you have come, and you can wave goodbye to those stepping stones and go on to new ones on another journey to success.

If you settle down and think clearly about what you want to succeed in, and then what you need to achieve in order to get there, you will quite naturally give a structure to a plan which you will follow; a structure that will incorporate goals you will need to achieve along the way. As with business goals and plans, your personal goals need to be realistic. If you have never driven a car and decide you want to be a Formula One race driver, then it does not make a lot of sense to go directly to Ferrari HQ and say “Here I am, can I race for you in next week’s Grand Prix?”

If you are determined enough, you may become an F1 driver, but there are a few little goals to achieve first. That applies to just about anything. You need to pinpoint the key achievements along the way to success in whatever it is you wish to succeed in, set an appropriate series of goals, and then tick them off one by one.

It is important to think clearly about your personal goals, as they are just that, personal. They are not your husband’s goals, you parents’ goals, or your brother’s goals, they are yours. Keep focused on what you want to achieve, not what others would like you to achieve from their own viewpoint. Use the opportunity to incorporate lifestyle goals into your plan, such as living by the sea, having a nice house, anything that is important to you. Even happiness benefits from goal setting; you can think about everything that would make you happy, and then set goals to achieve each of those elements.

Having decided your goals, then put them together in a plan that is realistic, otherwise you may be despondent after missing a goal which was impossible anyway. Set a reasonable timescale, and then try to aim for it step by step. If your chosen area of success is a competitive one, then remember that most people will just give up. But you will not give up, will you?

Always Set Yourself Targets And Work Hard To Achieve Them

I was always told by parents to always work towards a future goal or target and to ensure that you reached that goal. This they told me would make me a success in life. This article describes about the importance of having a goal in life.

I read many books and I recently read a book that described the importance of having a goal in life. In the books example, a survey had been carried out at a school. The people surveyed were students who had recently taken their final exams. They were asked to answer various questions, one of which asked, where would you like to be in five years time?

Looking back I am sure that if you had asked me that question, when I was sixteen, I would have had to put down, that I had no idea, as it was not something I had ever had thought about, despite my parents advice to set targets. I wanted to be a snooker player when in reality I had no chance of making the grade.

The people who carried out the survey reported that only five percent of the answers were accepted as having a goal. Five years later, the students were tracked down and the five percent of people who had had a goal, when their net asset worth’s were added together, the total amount was higher than all of the other peoples added together. Now of course money is not everything in life, however to me this shows that people who have a goal in life are more likely to be more successful than people who haven’t.

I then looked at my life I was twenty two and had a net asset worth of zero! I had been working for six years and had nothing to show for it. I then started to think about the future and started setting some of my own goals.

This has helped me in a very big way, to purchase for example my first house.

Ten Top Tips For Successfully Setting Goals

“Goals. There’s no telling what you can do when you get inspired by them. There’s no telling what you can do when you believe in them. And there’s no telling what will happen when you act upon them.” ~ Jim Rohn

Would you like to achieve positive results in your life and get what you really want? This tried and tested goal setting strategy is an effective way to set and achieve your goals. My Ten Top Tips are as follows:

• Write them down. By writing down your goals you are showing personal commitment and declaring your intention to succeed, as well as helping to clarify your thinking.

• Be specific. Write down goals that are specific, measurable and positive. Focus clearly on what you desire, not what you lack or want to get rid of from your life.

• Have a time limit. Set a date by which you will have achieved each of your goals. Otherwise, it’s like starting a football match without having agreed when the game is to end!

• Think of the benefits. Think through all the benefits of achieving your goals, and write them all down. This helps you clarify why they are important to you, visualise and feel what it will be like to achieve them, check how committed you are to working on them - and all this will help energise and motivate you if the going gets tough.

• Consider options and obstacles. How many ways can you think of to achieve your goal? Evaluate the results and consequences of each. What could stop you or cause a problem? And what about subconscious obstacles? Complete this sentence several times to find out more - “I want to achieve (name your goal) but………”

• Make a detailed plan. Having chosen your preferred way forward, identify all the actions you’ll need to take. This breaks a seemingly big and daunting task down into manageable steps, enables you to plan what to do, prepare for problems, and reduces resistance to actually getting started.

• Identify resources. What skills, knowledge, ability and contacts do you already have? What additional resources will you require? What changes do you need to make? Realistically review and assess this when making your plan, and ask for extra support as required.

• Balance and fit. Check that all the areas of your life are in balance - if not, will your various goals make this happen? Will your goals support your long term plans and fit your ambitions, are they worthy of you, do they reflect your values? So while you are building that great career or business, ensure that you are also looking after your health, relationships, fun time, wealth and personal development etc.

• Take action! Make a start. Actually take the first step you identified when you formed your plan of action.

• Review and reward. Set some interim milestones as part of your initial strategy. This means you can check your progress regularly and see that you are moving in the right direction. And as part of this process acknowledge your achievements along the way and reward yourself for everything you accomplish. Celebrate!

GOALS ARE DAMAGING

GOALS ARE DAMAGING

I know this is a strange follow-up to my last article, but stick with me. Can you relate to setting goals and not achieving them? Have you ever been frustrated by trying to set goals when you know in your heart that you will never reach them? You even say to yourself, “Who am I kidding? I will never accomplish this goal.” That’s why I’m here to tell you that goals are truly damaging for your future, because you beat yourself up over never reaching those goals.

On the other hand, goals are very important. Don’t let me confuse you with this just read this carefully. Goals are imperative when you have a strong “Why” in place. Let’s parallel this to a ten-story glass building that is shiny and beautiful to the eye. It towers over the city and creates the skyline. Now let’s imagine that the building was built by a group of amateur carpenters in one day and had a poor foundation. It looked very nice, but wasn’t solid. One day a little bird flew smack into that building, and guess what happened? That little, tiny sparrow knocked down that massive building that looked amazingly strong and powerful from the outside. Why? The foundation was pathetic, and there were no true roots to hold that building in place. No one paid the price for that building to hold its own in the real world despite how it looked to the average person.

Let’s tie that into your goals. Your “Why” is your foundation and your roots. Your “Why” must be stronger and bigger than you are right now! You must internalize your “Why” and know exactly “Why” you do what you do everyday to reach your goals. Too many people have set the goals of making a lot of money. Can you relate to that? Have you ever set the goal of making a certain amount of money in a month, and then at the end of the month you haven’t made a dime more? Here’s the reason why. You must know “Why” you want to earn that amount of money for that month. It’s not the money that drives you…it’s your “Why”! What are you going to do with that money? Pay your car payment, donate it to your church, buy your child a new toy…”Why” have you set that financial goal for that month? Another thing, you should never set a goal of “making” a certain amount of money in a month. Instead, after you know “Why” you are setting that financial goal, then set a goal of EARNING that money not MAKING that money. Remember, no one paid that price for that beautiful ten-story building, and it fell. You must be willing to pay the price and EARN your way to your goal.

Let’s go over this again. Goals are damaging to your future. If you don’t have your “Why” in place, then you have no foundation to support you as you head down your success path to completing that goal. Without that foundation, you will give up and be discouraged from ever setting goals for yourself again. It doesn’t matter what type of goal - physical, financial, social, etc. - you must know “Why” you are going pay the price to achieve that goal. If not, then that goal could damage your life instead of assisting you in ultimately achieving success that you’ve always dreamed about. Commit today to develop your “Why” before setting any more goals!

Let me share 3 questions with you that will help you “Find Your Why”.

1. If you did not have to worry about finances or going to your job on Monday morning, then what would you do?
2. If you had so much money that you had to give it away, what would you do with it? Who would you give it to and why?
3. Do you enjoy life? If so, why? If not, then why not? Remember, your past does not control you! Your future should drive you, because you see yourself successful!

After you develop your “Why” and set your goals, you will encounter obstacles and challenges like that little bird that hit that huge building. If your “Why” is strong enough, then unlike that building you will stand firm against whatever tries to stop you from achieving that goal. You will not be knocked down!

Remember, goals are damaging if you don’t have a foundational “Why” in place. I challenge you today to ask yourself those three questions, develop your “Why” and then set your goals.
