Save the Date Etiquette: Everything You Need To Know

Save the Date Cards, what are they, do I need them, how do I
word them, and when do I send them? I’ll answer these questions
and more, to help you make an knowledgeable decision. Save the
Date Cards are announcements that inform your guests of your
future wedding in order to keep your special day free. They are
essential in the following situations: if many of your guests
are traveling to your wedding, your wedding takes place on or
around a holiday, you are planning a faraway destination
wedding, or your wedding will take place in a seasonally busy or
tourist locale, where the flights and hotels perhaps book up
early. They are generally sent at least 4-6 months prior to your
wedding but, if you are planning a destination wedding, for
example Hawaii it is strongly recommended that you send them 12
months in advance if not longer. For seasonally busy and tourist
locales or on or around a holiday it is best to send them 9-12
months in advance. Your guests will then have ample time to make
all the necessary arrangements needed to be a part of your
special celebration and may even extend it into a vacation of
their own. Use your imagination, Save the Date Cards are not
meant to be formal. There are many design options available. You
can have them match your wedding invitations, magnets, brochure
style, post card size, multiple layers, booklet style, you can
add a picture of you and your fiancé, or embellishments to add a
personal touch. Here are some guidelines on what your cards
should state, your names, date of wedding, city or town and
state of where wedding will take place. Also, because Save the
date Cards are a recent trend and many that have not attended a
wedding recently may mistaken them for the actual invitation be
sure to include something along the lines of, “Invitation to
follow”, “Invitation and details to follow”, “Invitation will
follow” this is usually placed at the bottom of the card. For
more wording suggestions visit www.verseit.com. If you have a
wedding website don’t forget to include the address for your
guests to view. If you need to keep your guest list to a
minimum, make a list of close family and friends whom you want
to make sure will be able to attend and mail them a Save the
Date Card, you do not need to send Save the Date Cards to
everyone you are inviting but, every guest that receives a Save
the Date Card must also receive an invitation. We recommend
providing your guests with additional information to help
facilitate their planning such as airline, car rental, hotel,
information on things to see and do in the area and surrounding
areas, special events, theatrical shows etc. Go the extra mile
and acquire group discounts by calling specific companies and
seeing if they offer group discounts.

I Remember When

I remember when as a child of not having enough to eat, sharing
with seven brothers and sisters. Wanting more to eat at supper
time but the food was gone. I remember of the hunger in my belly
while trying to sleep at night remembering the taste of rabbits
and hens that my father raised, the vegetables in the not big
enough garden he planted. The berries we picked and ate during
the day to help the hunger.

I remember when the shoes on my feet were too small and hurt my
feet or to big they wouldn’t stay on–shoes that another child
had worn out already. The clothes that people had given me,
outdated and falling apart. Taking what cloths were left after
my sister picked through the hand-me-downs and having only a
thin worn out coat in the freezing winter to wear.

I remember going to school and being laughed at because we were
poor–walking home from school in tears–having no friends
except the immediate neighbor kids to play with. Wishing that I
had dolls to play with like the other girls. In the winter,
sliding on hills on tire tubes and cardboard–having no sleds.

I remember being cold in bed at night with only one wool blanket
to keep me and my sister warm–the ice that hung from the nails
coming through the roof. My hands and feet numb from the cold.
Getting up in the morning hurrying to get to the wood stove to
get warm in hopes there would be room for me with all the others.

I remember of picking berries in the summer to sell and
shoveling snow in the winter for neighbors to buy Christmas
gifts–a candy bar for each one. I remember at Christmas when
the few toys I received had already been played with. I remember
of eating turkey for supper on Christmas that social services
had brought the family.

I remember the water being carried from the well and heated on
the wood stove to bathe in. Being able to bathe only once a week
in the steel tub–sharing the same water with my brothers and
sisters. Wishing I could bathe in a real tub with running
water–using as much hot water as I wanted.

I remember the man that tried to molest me as a child. I
remember the loneliness and heart-ache of the separation of my
family–not knowing where my brothers and sisters were. Moved
from home to home–having to share space, food, and a bed with
other foster children. Being physically abused by a foster boy
in one of the homes–running away to find help.

I remember the abuse I endured as a young adult–emotionally
drained and feeling useless–wanting to end the pain. Leaving
everything behind with no place to go–no money or
food–sleeping in a car–feeling alone. Having to find a new job
and making new friends in a strange place.

I remember the beatings in a new relationship and couldn’t find
a way out. The nightmares I still had from the past
relationship. The guilt I felt with mixed emotions when I
watched him die. Wanting to find someone to share my life and
love with–wanting not to waste the rest of my life.

I remember all those bad times–it made me the person I am
today. The thing that is most important is God gave me life–a
beautiful gift.

The Latest Forms Of Stuttering Treatments

If you suffer from the speech impediment known as stuttering, you are not alone. Latest figures suggest that around one percent of the population of England has a stutter or stammer and that the majority of these people are male. In this article I write about the latest stuttering treatments that are available.

I am somebody who had a stutter which originated when I was four years of age. It was to continue to ruin my life for the next eighteen years and had a damaging affect on my self-confidence and self-esteem. I had major problems saying certain words beginning with certain letters and was constantly trying to avoid these type of words.

This is not always easy to do however and I will never forget one particular English lesson when I was around fourteen years of age. I was involved in a class quiz in which we all had to answer simple general knowledge questions. It was a quick fire quiz and as the teacher went around asking each pupil a question in turn, I became more and more nervous. Finally it was my go and I was asked to answer which city was the capital of France. I knew the answer but the demons in my head advised me not to give the answer, as they reminded me that I was unable to say words beginning with p. I was not sure what to do as I could not exactly substitute the word Paris to Lyon. I would do anything to avoid stuttering and stated that I did not know the answer. This was not good as everyone then believed that not only did I have a speech impediment, but that I was also rather stupid.

Ten years ago at the age of twenty-two, I am happy to report that I managed to overcome my own stutter. This was after a year long program of self-help stuttering therapy. This included long periods of observing how good fluent people were talking compared to me and also be reading many self-help type books. These books included areas such as mind over matter, success and positive thinking and were a huge help in improving my whole life.

There are many types of stuttering treatments now available, certainly a lot more than when I had a stutter. There is the normal and traditional speech therapy route. This is where most people start and this type of treatment is of use, however most speech therapists do not believe that you can overcome a stutter, this for me says it all. My answer to them is, have you ever heard of Bruce Willis? I attended speech therapy, however I must admit I did not go to the sessions with the right attitude. I did not believe that they could help me and that their methods of advising me to speak slower and to breathe deeply were floored, as this was not how my friends were talking. I also did not think that they could ever fully understand what I was going through as they have never had a stuttering problem themselves.

The latest stuttering treatments include one-to-one speech courses, group speech courses, self-help ebooks and also self-help dvds. In my opinion the one-to-one speech courses are currently the best option to take and will give you the best chance of attaining fluency. I do understand though that the self-help options can be very appealing to a lot of people, firstly because of the affordability factor and also because of the obvious fact that a lot of people who stutter do not have the confidence to attend a speech course.

More and more people are seeking help to eradicate their stutter and no longer accept second best in their lives.

Good luck in your quest to achieve your goal of fluent speech.

Ectopic Pregnancy

One of the most devastating experiences I went through was having an ectopic pregnancy (actually, I had two). Most ectopic pregnancies occur in the fallopian tube, and occassionally, the tube can be salvaged, but more often than not, the damage to the tube is so severe, it must be surgically taken out. If you can catch the ectopic early enough, it is possible to treat it medically. My first ectopic had to be removed laparoscopically, however for my second, I was given a drug called “Methotrexate” which stops the pregnancy from growing in the tube so it can expel naturally.

Aside from the inevitable depression that follows most miscarriages (I’ve read that up to 70% of women suffer some form of depression following a miscarriage), If you’re over 40, and have had an ectopic pregnancy, you are most likely saying to yourself, “I don’t have time for this!” You want to try again right away, but you’re still recovering from surgery. When I was going through fertility treatments, my doctor told me I had to wait until I had 3 full menstrual cycles before we could try again. What??? Three Months???That sounded like an eternity. Even if your ectopic pregnancy is treated medically with Methotrexate, you are warned not to concieve for a full three months after being given this drug because it could cause birth defects if you conceive while it is in your system.

If you are trying to get pregnant naturally, you feel like the removal of one of your fallopian tubes is a major setback because it can essentially cut your chances of conceiving in half. But as long as you still have one tube, you can still get pregnant. Interestingly, my mother’s first pregnancy was ectopic and she went on to have three children. And, even though I was over the age of 40, I conceived 4 times with only one fallopian tube. So, optimally it would great to have both tubes, but you can still do just fine with one.

So, what should you do if you’ve had an ectopic pregnancy?

Don’t think this is the end of the world. Yes, it is a setback, but as long as you still have one functioning tube, you can still get pregnant.

Take care of yourself. Know that you can try again. Even if you’re in your 40’s, just the fact that you got pregnant should be encouraging. You can use this 3 months before you try again to get your body ready. Eat foods that promote hormonal balance and overall health. Mentally go through the greiving process so you’re receptive to trying again.

Get emotional support. Join a support group, or join an on-line support forum. There are many women out there who’ve gone through this experience. It is very comforting to talk to others who know what you’re going through. It’s also encouraging to see others in your situation succeed.

Sandy Robertson is the author of “You Can Get Pregnant Over 40, Naturally”. She is a stay-at-home mom who also writes and teaches part-time at a local community college. She has volunteered as the women’s support group leader for her local infertility organization and she continues to speak to women and couples struggling with infertility.

Special Washes

Attract and hold your family at home with some unique spiritual
& New Age special washes inherited from the Hoodoo practice
which combines elements of African and European magical,
religious, and witchcraft traditions and a little bit of the
Native American use of herbal and botanical wisdom.

What is known in the southern United States as Hoodoo is simply
a traditional form of magic, not a religion, which uses the
occult and supernatural elements of the Christian, Jewish and
European practices. In fact, many patent medicines and home-made
potions, baths, and floor washes were aimed at Hoodoo
practitioners and more than one had gained commercial success.
Some of the Hoodoo special washes were originally used for
reasons completely unrelated to the meaning that they have
nowadays. The use of baths and floor washes in Hoodoo generally
involves the creation of infusions by straining specific herbs
into water. Then, the special water is given as a bath
complement to the person looking for jinx removal, protection
and spiritual purifications. Often these herbal mixtures might
be added to water and used to wash the floor of a house or place
of work to bring blessings or improve business. A ritual floor
washing should always start at the back of the premises and end
at the front door step. For the best results, wash your floors,
corners of the rooms, closets, doorsteps, and spray a little on
the walls, fabrics and furniture. To dispose of the left-over
wash water, throw it out the front door or into the front yard,
toward the East, if possible.

For protective reasons, you are able to add these washes to
your clothing by diluting some in water while using your washing
machine - recommendation: Be careful with the colors.

Chinese Wash: Basically, the Chinese Wash is an herbal floor
wash used in rites of protection, in spiritual house-cleansings,
unjinxing, and to maintain marital fidelity, among others and it
was a standard commercial product that acquired an occult and
magical reputation among African-American root workers.

Use 1-3 tablespoonful of this wash in a bucket of water
depending on the strength of the job you need to do. Scrub the
floors from the top floor to the bottom floor and from the back
of each floor to the front, ending at last at the front
doorstep.

Four Thieves Vinegar: For years, this special wash has been
related to death, and it is used as a mosquito repellent due to
its strong odor. Now, it’s popular for personal protection, to
get immunity, to provoke dissent, and to get rid of enemies.

Some recipes call for red wine vinegar, others say cider
vinegar. Mixed with herbs– rosemary (strong antiseptic),
wormwood (bitter herb), lavender (contains pleasant scent),
peppermint (with volatile oil), rue (bitter herb), and sage (has
lymphatic properties) — some added thyme, and garlic.

Peace Water: As its name suggests, Peace Water works on the
minds of those persons we deal with, rendering their temper and
it is also used as a protective artifact. This water-clear
liquid emulates three different herbal essences, one of which is
quite similar to Florida Water. Sprinkle it in the corners to
ensure only kind people and good spirits enter to your home.

War Water: Sincerely, I’m not bringing tips on ways to do evil
stuffs, and since War Water can be for enemy tricks, to declare
occult war, and to trouble someone, I’ll let you investigate
this artifact by yourselves. I just want to mention that it is
said that War Water is also a European contribution to Hoodoo.
Please, do not try to prepare or use this special wash.

Is your Penis big enough? The Method to make it Larger

Before I try to answer this questions I must say that Penis size is one of the greatest self-confidence battles that men deal with. Another important fact is that only 10% of all men are happy with their penis length or their sexual performance. Do you belong to the 90% that are unhappy?

A lot of questions are asked everyday by the male population…

Is my penis long enough? What is the average penis size?

Approximately 75% of the male population has a penis that is 6″ or greater.

What does my partner thing about it? Will I be able to give more satisfaction to my partner with a larger penis?

Penis size can have both a physical and psychological effect on the initial degree of sexual excitement for some women.

And how about you? If you belong to the other 25% can you deal with it?

If not, there are penis enlargement products and programs specifically developed to increase your penis size.
These products were not only developed for people with underdeveloped penises, but those have an larger-than-average penis, who just want more.

The existent methods are:

1.- Penis Jelging: Basically jelqing involves “milking” or stretching exercises involving the penis, with the ultimate goal of increasing the length of your penis. Jelqing has been found to have some disturbing effects when repeated for a period of time.

2.- Penis Enlargement Pumps and Electric Pumps: With the pumps you can make up to 2 inches gain but this gain is not permanent and only lasts for approximately 1 hour. It’s not an effective method if you desire a permanent penis enlargement.

3.- Penis Enlargement Surgery: Although there has been great improvements in phalloplasty, also called cosmetic penile enhancement or augmentation surgery, the results remain unpredictable and there are some significant risks involved.

4.- Penile Weights: This method works by hanging small weights off the end of your penis to stretch the penis and in the process, make it longer. This method of penis enlargement has been around for some time and has worked in some cases, but comes with several potential risks.

5.- Penis Enlargement Pills: They are 100% natural pills, being blended with a combination of herbal component that very effectively enlarge both penis length and penis girth, as well as enhancing sexual performance. Some of them are developed in advanced laboratories and approved by the FDA.

6.- Penis Extenders: Though there are few people using this method in comparison to other types of penis enlargement, it is proving itself to be a very successful method. The device is used anywhere between 2 and 10 hours a day and causes your penis to build new tissue cells resulting in a longer, thicker penis.

7.- Penis Enlargement Patches: The transdermal patch ingredients are instantly absorbed into the skin and the product does not need to travel through your digestive system, beginning its work immediately for fast and effective sexual enhancement.

Some experts recommend the use of combined methods, in order to achieve a better and faster result. Before you choose, please check carefully the advantages and disadvantages of each one them.

Incontinence: Improving Muscle Tone

Incontinence is one of the most common problems among women these days. A treatable disorder, whose main symptom is frequent urination and leakage. An overactive bladder and incontinence affects 12 million North American women.

Incontinence occurs when the urethra loses support from the vaginal walls. Overactive bladder is closely linked to incontinence, and is characterized by such symptoms as frequent urination, insomnia due to the urge to urinate at night, urine leakage, and even bed-wetting. An overactive bladder is often caused by bladder stones, surgery or neurological disease. Among the main risk factors for incontinence are excessive weight, smoking, pregnancy, stress and infections of the bladder, such as cystitis.

Aside from being a physical health issue, incontinence and suffering with an overactive bladder can result in emotional and mental health issues. Frequent urination can be an embarrassing problem. As a result, many women who suffer from incontinence become socially inactive, abandoning social activities. Many women even stop seeing other people.

Childbirth is a major cause of incontinence, with age and menopause contributing to the problem. Vaginal childbirth frequently causes pelvic damage because the pressure of the fetal head displaces and stretches parts of the pelvic anatomy, most specifically, the vaginal walls. With the onset of menopause women can become estrogen deficient which can cause the vagina to thin which prevent the urethral walls from closing well. This lack of closure translates into incontinence.

There is no unique treatment strategy for incontinence and overactive bladder. You can prevent leakage of urine temporarily using diapers and pads, or even undergo a surgery. For bladder infections, there are a number of traditional and herbal remedies, such as cleaver or Marshmallow root teas that help toning bladder muscles.

Incontinence and other bladder problems don’t necessarily have to be treated with medications. Pelvic muscles can be strengthened and toned, just like any muscle in the body, to prevent spontaneous urine leakage. These exercises, called after the doctor Kegel who invented them, are often prescribed to pregnant women. In the same time, Kegel exercises can tighten the muscles that control stream of urine. You can locate these muscles by stopping and starting the flow of urine.

Women, who are already being treated for incontinence, can start doing 3 sets of 50-60 repetitions of Kegel exercises a day. Then, as the muscles strengthen, women can do as much as a hundred Kegels a day - not at one time, of course! Quite conveniently, Kegel exercises can be easily done everywhere, as they are completely invisible. There are even vaginal weights to be used when doing Kegel exercises.

You can develop your own Kegel routine by adding variations of exercise, such as elevation Kegels or holding the pressure for a few seconds. Women who practice Kegels admit that these simple exercises have the added benefit of greatly improving their sex life.

The most important message for women who suffer from any form of urinary incontinence is that in 80 to 90 percent of people it can be significantly improved or even cured.

Wise Woman Ways to Boost Your Energy

Almost every woman has, at one time or another, felt so fatigued she wanted to cry. But for some women, and for a variety of reasons - including menopause, caring for a new-born, working odd hours, chronic anxiety, and poverty, to name only a few - fatigue is a constant, not an occasional, problem.

Stimulants don’t really give us more energy, though they are what many women turn to when they feel too tired. Stimulants create false energy, leaving us more exhausted at deeper levels. One more cup of coffee, one more soft drink, one more jolt of fear increases energy, to be sure. But these choices also deplete our bones of their minerals, weaken our core energy, and prevent truly restful, restorative sleep. Even herbal stimulants, like cayenne and guarana, are, well, stimulants. They push us too hard and erode our long-term health.

Are there ways to boost energy that are effective and healthy? My guide, Grandmother Growth, gave me some ideas of how to help myself when I feel bone-tired. And I gathered together the best remedies I know, plus the wisdom of my Wise Woman friends, so you can help yourself too, when you are too weary for words.

“Fall into my arms and sleep,” offers Grandmother Growth. “You don’t have to make things happen; they will happen on their own. Let me hold you. Let go. Don’t resist. Rest. You are working hard. You are delving deep and changing yourself. Of course you are tired. Change is hard work. Rest in my strong arms. Let go. Give your weariness to me. Let go of all that worries you. Surrender yourself into my strength. Take courage from me. Let me support you. Let me ease you. Let go.”

Extreme fatigue indicates a profound need to do nothing. Ask family and friends to give you a day totally off … and take it! Barricade yourself in your room if need be (or, like the cartoon character Sylvia, in the bathroom).

BE GENTLE WITH YOURSELF

The internal processes that occur during puberty, motherhood, menopause or any other profound change in your life require tremendous amounts of energy. Even if you provide yourself with very high quality nutrients and use your energy wisely, you may still feel unreasonably tired. Many cultures offer newborns and moms a quiet, alone month or more, allow menopausal women to retire for a year or more while they Change, and give grieving parents/partners/children/friends time off from responsibility. If yours doesn’t, if you can’t, at least be gentle with yourself.

Give yourself a break: every hour, take a 60-second break. Breathe deeply; stand up and stretch; drink a glass of water or some herbal infusion. Schedule a regular time to meditate or take a nap every day. Small frequent rests help more than an extra hour of sleep; but do both if you can.

Set aside an hour a week to do something indulgent for yourself: a long soak in a hot bath, a manicure, a walk alone in a beautiful place. Nourish yourself and you will have more energy to give to others.

Treat yourself to a massage once a month. (It need not break your budget; find someone willing to barter for a skill or product you have.) A skilful massage releases tension, helping you get more benefit from your sleep and downtime, thus liberating more energy and helping you begin the upward spiral into increased vitality.

“Lower your standards.” This advice, though difficult to hear, has been one of the most important guidelines for me in choosing a life that delights and energizes me. It helped me choose to let the floor go unswept, the dishes unwashed, the bed unmade, while I gardened, or studied, or even just went for a walk in the woods. When I do the things I want to do I have LOTS more energy. What are you doing that saps your strength and erodes your delight in life? Find a way to quit, or at least cut down on the time you devote to it.

LIST TEN GOOD THINGS ABOUT FATIGUE, LAZINESS, LETHARGY, AND PROCRASTINATION

I’ve found laziness to be my best guide to efficiency; lethargy has stopped me from taking foolish risks; and procrastination helps me find more efficient ways to proceed. Love and honor your fatigue for helping you conserve energy and giving you the time to find creative new ways to do the same old things.

SEAWEED

Seaweeds of all kinds help restore energy by nourishing nervous, immune, and hormonal systems. Make it a habit to eat seaweed as a green vegetable at least once a week. Try kelp in your oatmeal, wakame in your beans, kombu in your soups, hijiki salads, toasted dulse, sea palm fronds, and deep-fried nori!

ROOTS

Counter that tired-every-day feeling: get down and get grounded energy from roots. Try a tincture of ginseng, siberian ginseng, yellow dock, or dandelion roots. A dose is 10-20 drops of any one root, taken with meals.

TIRED BLOOD?

You may need more iron: eat a spoonful of molasses or try a dropperful of yellow dock tincture several times a day.

STIR IT UP! DON’T JUST SIT THERE!

Energy is attracted to energy. Get moving this way: stand up, feet shoulder-width, knees relaxed. Swing your arms toward one side, then the other. Let the shoulders and hips move as you twist your upper body. Let your arms move freely. Continue for a minute or two. Then, start rocking your tail bone, your whole pelvis, forward and back, forward and back, again for at least a minute. Alright!

GREEN IS THE COLOR OF PLANT ENERGY

The plants with the deepest green give you the most energy. A daily cup of nettle infusion increases energy without wiring your nerves. Nettle strengthens the adrenals, allowing you to tolerate more stress with less harm. And it nourishes your immune system, too.

To make it:

  • Put one ounce of dried nettle leaf in a quart jar.

  • Fill to the top with boiling water.
  • Cap tightly and steep at least four hours (overnight is fine).
  • Strain and drink.
  • Refrigerate the remainder and consume within 36 hours.

(Leftovers may be used as a hair rinse or fertilizer for your houseplants.) I drink several quarts of nettle infusion every week. It helps me have the energy to teach all day and write for hours each evening.

OATSTRAW

Oatstraw infusion builds deep energy for the next day, especially when you have been riding an emotional roller coaster. Oatstraw nourishes the nerves, easing anxiety and improving our ability to live with uncertainty. Make it like the nettle infusion, using a full ounce of oatstraw to a quart of boiling water. OK to drink it hot or cold, with honey or miso, or any other addition (juice, coffee, whiskey) you desire. Remember to refrigerate the infusion after it has brewed 4-8 hours, even if you don’t get a chance to strain the plant material out.

EAT MORE

When you’re too tired to eat, you get more tired. (If this sounds like an old wives’ tale, remember that old wives were the wise women. But, actually, it’s the latest scientific thinking.) In addition to at least one really good meal a day, eat high quality snacks hourly.

Though it seems contrary, St. Joan’s wort (Hypericum) tincture relaxes the nerves yet increases energy. A dose is 25-30 drops several times a day, including before bed. You’ll sleep better, ache less, and wake up with more energy and a brighter outlook on life.

Warming herbs such as ginger and cinnamon increase energy (but may increase hot flashes, too). Make a tea with 1 cup/250 ml boiling water and 1/2-1 teaspoon (1-2 grams) of the powder of any one of these.

Very tired women need more fuel, that is, more fat, in their diets, and best if the fats are also natural sources of vitamin E: avocados, peanut butter, sunflower seeds, tahini, and olive oil are good food sources. Herbs rich in vitamin E include nettle, seaweeds, dandelion, and watercress.
B vitamins build energy. Find them in whole grains, organ meats, sweet potatoes, avocados, egg yolks, fish, and whey. Both oatstraw and nettle infusions are good sources of B vitamins, as are red clover blossom infusion, peppermint leaves, and fenugreek seeds.

Low levels of potassium, iron, and iodine contribute to fatigue. Celery, cabbage, seaweeds, nettle infusion, and red clover infusion are excellent sources of potassium. Molasses, chocolate, seaweeds, nettle infusion, and dandelion leaves are all superb sources of iron. For iodine, seaweed shines, but sea salt, mushrooms, and greens grown in gardens fertilized with seaweed also supply significant amounts.

AVOID

Some women report greater fatigue on days when they’ve eaten frozen or raw food. Traditional Chinese Medicine says eating raw or chilled foods, especially cold drinks and raw juices, contributes to fatigue because you have to use your internal energy to warm up the food before you can digest it. The more tired you are, the greater your need for well-cooked foods, like nourishing herbal infusions and healing soups.

I avoid wheat grass juice, green barley powder, spirulina, and all blue green algae. None are as nourishing as nettle infusion, and all are considerably more expensive, more difficult to make yourself at home, and more likely to be sold through multi-level marketing.

“Energy-producing” foods/drugs/herbal supplements such as coffee, guarana, caffeinated drinks, and excessive amounts of black tea or chocolate will create greater fatigue in the future.

“Rest your head down on me,” crones Grandmother Growth. “For this moment, rest in me. Let the energy of the earth infuse you. Let my energy carry you. Let yourself be enough. Let go.”

Women’s Health and Weight Loss Tip #3: The Importance of Iron in a Woman’s Diet

One of the biggest weaknesses of the traditional commercial
diet is the lack of iron that exists in its
stringent and often excessively limited eating guidelines. In
order to lose weight, many unsuspecting women get bamboozled
into taking part in weight loss programs that cut out many of
the nutrients that they need. Iron is one of the primary
casualties of such diets and weight loss plans.

The plot thickens for women in particular due to the fact that
their bodies regularly lose iron during menstruation. Therefore,
eating a low-calorie, low-iron diet in an effort to lose weight
only makes the problem more severe.

It is generally suggested that women supplement their diets with
an iron supplement such as the Vitality multivitamin offered by
Melaleuca, the Wellness Company. This is particularly
important during periods of heavy exercise and training that are
typical aspects of any weight loss program or general effort to
lose weight even when a special program is not in use.

One thing to be on guard for, however, is excessive iron
supplementation by iron-deficient (non-anemic) women.
There is a disorder known as hemosiderosis which results
from large deposits of iron made in the liver that causes a
glitch in the proper metabolism of the iron itself. Avoiding
prolonged large doses will eliminate the risk of this particular
disorder.

Below are a few recommendations from the American Council on
Exercise (ACE) that will help you to make sure you get the
adequate amount of iron intake in your daily diet, whether on a
program to lose weight or not:

- Eat foods with a high vitamin C content with all meals.
Vitamin C aids in the absorption of iron. (examples: salsa;
chili peppers; oranges)

- Include dark meat chick and/or turkey in the training diet.
Both of these are rich in iron

- Vegetable proteins such as split pea soup or chili beans with
lean meat help the iron in those meats to properly absorb

- When eating starchy carbohydrates such as cereals, breads, and
pastas, gravitate to those labeled “enriched” or “fortified” for
their higher iron content.

How to Choose the Right Hairstyles for Special Occasions

Women have the desire to have their hair looking gorgeous each
and every day and that is why female consumers spend billions of
dollars each year buying hairstyling products - hair straightener, hair extensions etc. Women spend all
this money on products to straighten, curl, highlight, color,
smooth the frizzes, add body, moisturize and of course may them
look their best on a daily basis. However, then comes those
special occasions such as the holidays, proms, weddings and even
a special Valentine’s Day dinner when they desire to look even
more glamorous and stunning. A special occasion can be any time
that you desire to look your utmost best and have a new dress
and hairstyle to match.

No matter what hairstyle you now have and no matter the length
of your hair, you can find many wonderful and gorgeous
hairstyles that will have everyone believing you spent hundreds
of dollars going to the salon.

Long hairstyles have been in fashion for a very long time and
with long hair, you can find many ways to style your hair that
will reflect your own beauty and the aura of any special
occasion. With long hairstyles you can braid, wear up-styles, or
have it long and flowing which is very romantic. The idea that
you create with your long hairstyle has a lot to do with the
type of special occasion that you will attend. You can achieve a
business look, a fairy tale princess look, or a diva look all by
just styling your long hair in different fashions.

Medium
hairstyles and short hairstyles can be just as much fun and
beautiful as long hairstyles. The idea is to decide if you
prefer your hair down or in an up-sweep. Either style will work
for all hairstyles. Adding braids and flowers to medium
hairstyles and short hairstyles will give you an elegant look
that will not be like your every day hairstyle and you will be
as charming and elegant as any one at the event.

If you are planning on attending your senior prom or your best
friends wedding you may wish to have a style that is a bit more
elegant. You can find prom hairstyles that will absolutely look
stunning with long hairstyles, medium hairstyles, and short
hairstyles. There are even some wonderful up-styles, which look
great for short hairstyles without having to purchase extensions.

Wedding hairstyles are as glamorous as you wish them to be. You
can choose from simple to elaborate and from styles such as
Grecian Up-style to long and flowing. According to the length of
hair of each person in the wedding party, you will have to work
to create wedding hairstyles that will help each member look as
if they were walking out of a magazine.
