An Australian Visit
Our latest vacation to Australia was brilliant. What a superb country. We discovered a whole lot while we were there, so here are some travel hints:
Melbourne is the lowest priced air terminal to fly to. We ended up saving more than $175 on our flight
Best to go in summer, ours that is, (their winter), except if you’re planning to surf the ocean off the Gold Coast. You’ll save up to $100 a ticket then. This time of year it’s never too hot in the south, about 70 degrees, perfect temperature for seeing the area.
Make sure and use the tourist information centers, they have all the details and recommendations for the area.
You can’t manage without renting a car. It is so easy travel about in Australia if you do. Renting a car is quick and easy and will help save you money in addition to allowing you to discover a lot more of the country. Allow me to share some examples:
Car hire Melbourne (far South): $36 to $71 per day.
Car hire Gold Coast (about Brisbane, the famous surf area): $34 to $60 per day.
Car rental Darwin (far North): $42 to $60 per day.
We made a straight line to car hire Melbourne at the airport right after arriving. The rental process was so quick we were on the highway in roughly fifteen minutes. Melbourne’s a terrific town for museums. We ought to know as we must have visited every single one of them. We also went to check out the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges, about a one hour trip from Melbourne.
We travelled from Melbourne to Brisbane and went straight to the car rental Gold Coast. Leaving the car hire Gold Coast we drove all over the Gold Coast. Well endowed with super seafood dining places and magnificent views, the Gold Coast is a holidaymaker’s paradise.
Reluctantly we left the Gold Coast and flew to Darwin. That’s right! Number one priority. See the folks at car hire Darwin and straight off to Mindil Beach Sunset Market. Darwin’s much further north and the weather was much hotter, in the 90’s, but it didn’t seem so hot due to the sea gentle winds. The car was a real benefit as waiting around for a taxi or coach in that heat would have been a real pain.
Australia’s so big there is so much we couldn’t get to see. It was a great visit though and I’d really like to go back.
