Not the Best, Not a Problem
Many poker online players get discouraged when they play, knowing that they aren’t and most likely will never be one of the best players at any given casino table. First of all, that’s a crummy attitude to bring to a table. Secondly, if you’re right, the great news when it comes to poker is that you don’t have to be the best player at the table-you just have to be better than a few of them.
It goes back it identifying all of the poker online players around you. Before you sit at a table, it’s important to scout it out and try to prejudge each player individually. Figure out who the aggressors are and who can be pushed around, who the tight and loose players are, and most importantly, which players you can beat and which players can beat you.
Once you have a mental framework for the players that you’re going to be sitting with, start playing and adjust that paradigm as you grow more familiar with your surroundings. When you are fairly certain who you can beat, focus your game on bleeding them dry while protecting your chips from the players that you think are better than you. Shear the sheep and avoid the wolves, and you’ll walk away with some spending money.
