Naveen Jain - Role Model and Leader
In more ways than one, Naveen Jain has left his footprint on the Internet. As senior executive for Microsoft, he facilitated in launching the Microsoft network. As the founder and CEO of InfoSpace, Jain aided in revolutionizing the personal and business directory industry. Then, together with other visionaries from Microsoft and InfoSpace, Naveen Jain co-founded Intelius, Inc. He introduced intelligent information to consumers for their day-to-day decisions. And now, as CEO of Intelius, Inc, Jain has helped millions of Americans in people search, background check and ID theft prevention.
Born, raised and educated in India, Jain migrated to the US three decades ago and refers to himself as a “cult leader” whose life revolves around his workplace a characteristic he acquired during his seven-year employment at Microsoft where he was involved in the company’s first version of Windows NT and later launched Microsoft online service the Microsoft Network. Oftentimes, he cites Microsoft Chairman William H. Gates III as his personal hero yet he is quick to point out that even his boss is slacking off.
Married to Anu, vice-president for community affairs at InfoSpace, for over two decades now, Naveen’s dedication to his work is drilling values that are important to their children. Jain asked his son if he wanted to be involved with InfoSpace someday, and the boy answered, “That’s your company. I want to start my own.” Wife Anu believes that her husband is a good role model.
In January of 2003, when Naveen Jain co-founded Intellius, the company initially functioned as an online information service providing “intelligence” about individuals like his address, court records, and other information. The company received attention right away and came out in several media releases, and Jain always found himself answering to interviews about the company’s profile, product and vision. As the company grew, Jain started to expand its services. What started out with basic information on individuals now also covers verification, information, protection, and business services.
