How To Face The Unknown

Think back to Monday. Or better yet, Sunday night,
getting ready for bed. Now let me ask you something: Did you
have the foggiest idea what was going to happen to you between
then and now?

Did you work? Sure. Eat? Yep, you probably did that, too.
But what happened at work, or what you ate, or how it tasted, or
how you felt afterward… all mysteries, until the moment they
happened.

That’s the nature of life, isn’t it? We sure like to
think we’re facing the unknown future, but the truth of it is,
we’re walking backwards, blind, into a huge unknown sea. And
this is true, no matter how much you plan, strategize, or try to
control the present moment.

You will always be faced with situations where you have no
idea what to do.
Avoiding them is not an option, and
preparing for them is next to impossible, simply because there
are too many variables in too many situations to be able to
predict.

Example: I was once asked by a friend to heal a house in
her subdivision. A floating house, no less; on a pier, on a
river. She told me that some not-so-pleasant things had happened
there years ago, and ever since, the tenants (three sets of
them) had all been rude, loud, and were making the entire dock
an unhappy place to be for many, many people.

“But I heal people”, said the voice in my head, “not
houses.
I’ve never done this before. How can I do this
without even going inside the house, or meeting the people
living there (both would be impossible, she told me)?”

Lucky for me, these voices were inside my head, and she
couldn’t hear them.
Because my mouth - which was connected
to my heart - said Yes.

To make a long story short, I went to the dock, climbed into
a kayak, and paddled near the house.
The whole process took
about thirty minutes, and the house felt clear to me. When I saw
my friend the next week, she told me how the tenants have been
waving to everyone, attending dock meetings, not playing loud
music anymore, and all the neighbors are happy again.

How did that happen? What did I do? And most importantly,
when faced with an unknown situation, what do you do?

When you walk into a situation that you’ve never faced before
- which happens everyday - your ability to be at your best, your
most surrendered, and your most present, depends on three
crucial factors:

1) Belief, trust, faith… in Sufism, this is called
“iman”, which can also translate to “certainty”. Worlds apart
from the concept of “blind faith”, iman is about the certainty
and trust that develops as you establish a daily, on-going
practice of self-surrender to the Divine Will. Essentially,
based on your chosen path, you commit to certain spiritual
practices. Doing those practices - especially when laziness or
avoidance would rather keep you away from them - builds a
certain strength and connection in you that you come to rely on.

When you face an unknown situation, you don’t know if your
knowledge will help you. You don’t know if your skills will help
you. But if you have iman in your heart, then you know through
and through that the Divine is, in fact, waiting to help you.
And that gives you confidence and reassurance, despite the
circumstances.

2) Stand in What You Know. Because you do have
experience, learning, education, and wisdom, that’s all been
gleaned from the bazillions of other times you’ve faced unknowns
in your life. You’re good at things, you have knowledge, and you
are loved. The more you can say Yes to who you are, what you
know, and that your contribution has value, the more likely you
are to draw on those strengths as you face your next opportunity.

3) Let Yourself Be Led. Remember, you don’t know what’s
coming next, ever. But Who does? That’s right, the Creator of
stuff knows what’s next, because the Creator created it - right?
(Such dazzling logic, I realize…)

The key to success in unknown situations is about letting
yourself act from the guidance you feel in your heart.
The
more you tune in to your heart, and feel the connection you have
to the Oneness (here’s where a practice like the Remembrance -
calling to the Divine from your heart - is a great practice to
attune your awareness to this), the more you can be led by
Divine Wisdom.

When I showed up at the neighborhood on the river, I didn’t
know what I’d do to help.
But I knew that whatever was
supposed to happen would happen - and that’s #1. And, I knew I
had talents as a healer - that’s #2. So when I climbed into the
kayak, it wasn’t about doing what I always did, although I knew
my familiarity with the worlds of energy and spirit would come
in handy. It was about trusting how I was being shown to apply
the guidance I received.

(For those interested in the house healing, it ended up being a
combination of what had happened in the house years before, and
another family in the dock who were never really there (again,
big sad situation), that kept the negativity stuck in place.
Through praying and working with the spirits of all the people
involved, along with some good ol’ fashioned Jedi energy skills ;-) , all the negativity was able to be cleared in a little over
twenty five minutes.)

So if you want to show up as the most empowered, guided
person you can be, you have to trust
(that’s #1), and be
willing to have your strengths
(that’s #2) be Divinely
guided
(that’s #3).

Acupuncture Treatment to Quit Smoking - does it Actually Work?

Filed under:Hall Of Medical Resources — posted on @ 2:17 am

Acupuncture is an alternative medical method that originated from China.
This method is based upon the old Chinese assumption that there are invisible energy point scattered across the human body. Theses energy points are called Meridians. during an Acupuncture treatment, tiny needles are inserted into the Meridians, causing he energy flow through them to change. This principle is used for quit a few benefits:

* It can “open up” energy blocks that will relieve pain and stress
* It can reduce cravings
* It can strengthen your energy and vitality

In the past years, Acupuncture has been used, among other uses, to help people stop smoking. The treatment included inserting the needles to specific points (among them, a few points in the outer ear).
This treatment was supposed to reduce the cravings to another cigarette and help those people on their way to quit smoking. In the first few years of using this method, it was quit popular and gained a lot of followers that recommended it. That was mainly because the method is not invasive and is very suitable for people who can’t, or won’t take medicine and other “strong stuff”.
But, for the last few years, the use of Acupuncture in smoking cessation has reduced significantly. This happens because of the following reasons:

* The percentage of people who actually stooped smoking while using Acupuncture
was small. This indicated that Acupuncture is not the best choice for people who want to quit smoking.

* New solutions were introduced to the scene, such as laser treatment, and shots treatment. This article does not discuss these methods, so let’s just say that they proved to be by far more effective than Acupuncture.

To conclude, It is clear that Acupuncture has it’s place as an alternative method, and many people report getting results with it. If you want to give it a shot in your efforts to stop smoking, it is advised that you find a therapist with a proven back record of success with helping people stop smoking.
However, I would say that as a means to help smoking cessation, there are much better solutions out there, so Acupuncture is in my opinion not the best choice.

So you want to quit smoking for good? Get all the
quit smoking support you need to start on your way to a new life, today!

Chronology of the Book Of Revelation

The Book of Revelation appears to be a daunting book because it is full of imagery and seems to bounce all over time, but like an old friend, once you get to know it, it really isn’t that bad. Follow the parallels. Follow the themes. Previously, we put to rest the issue of the rapture. It is important to understand the order of events - what occurs and when. Revelation is not that hard to understand if you grasp the main theme - the testimony of Jesus Christ which is seen in his two peoples, the two witnesses: Israel and the church. Timing is important and this reinforces the timing of the rapture.

SUMMARY CHRONOLOGY OF REVELATION:

Chapter 1 The first chapter gives us a picture of the transformed, resurrected Son of Man walking among the churches. Here we see the revelation and testimony of Jesus Christ.

Chapters 2,3 The letters are to seven very different churches - both actual churches and historical prophetic churches on the earth with exhortations to each to hear what the Spirit says and to overcome.

Chapter 4 This gives us a picture of the heavens and the throne of God.

Chapter 5 It reveals the Lamb of God, the only one worthy to open the seven seals or scrolls. The scrolls reveal what is to happen in this revelation of Jesus Christ.

Chapter 6 The beginning of sorrows and the six seals deal with events which occur during the first half of the Tribulation.

Chapter 7 This shows us Israel and the Church before the throne. “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation.” (7:14) The seal protects them from the wrath of God even though they suffered and died. Israel is the first group of 144,000 (not an actual number but signifying the whole)

Chapters 8,9 The seven trumpets come out of the seventh seal.

Chapter 10 John eats the little book.

Chapter 11 This is the story of the two witnesses from the beginning of the Tribulation to the end when the final trumpet sounds, the Lord returns and the two witnesses are brought to life and caught up with the Lord.

Chapter 12 This is an expansion of what happens during the third and fourth trumpets as Satan and his minions are cast to earth.

Chapter 13 This chapter parallels the 5th trumpet (Rev. 9:1-12) describing the midpoint of the tribulation, the abomination of desolations as the beast and his minions from the underworld invade the earth and impose the mark of the beast. We see the beast coming up out of the sea. “It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue and nation.” Let’s be very clear here. This is not the wrath of God, but the wrath of Satan directed against the church (as in Chapter 11)!

Chapter 14 The second group of 144,000 represents the church - “redeemed from among men.” (verse5) Here is another picture of the rapture as the earth is harvested just prior to God pouring out His wrath in the second half of the chapter.

Chapter 15 The angels prepare the final bowls full of wrath.

Chapter 16 The seventh trumpet introduces the bowls of wrath. The seventh bowl is the judgment of Babylon “Now the great city was divided into three parts and the cities of the nations fell.” (Verse 19). Babylon clearly refers to all the nations of the earth who are now under the dominance of the antichrist. The seventh bowl of wrath is the destruction of the three part empire which is covered in the next three chapters.

Chapters 17 Religious Babylon is seen riding the political beast which turns on her and destroys her.

Chapter 18 This covers the judgment and destruction of commercial Babylon.

Chapter 19 This is the final judgment of civil/political Babylon and the battle of Armageddon.

Chapter 20 This covers the Millennial reign of Christ, the final battle and then the final judgment of all mankind, the devil and his fallen angels.

Chapter 21 After judgment, we see the new heaven and new earth and the New Jerusalem.

Now, let’s go back to the seals and bring the chronology forward in some detail.
