Today we will overcome the two roadblocks most people run into when attempting to start a business. Then show you how to fund a new business and put money in your pocket this month!
The two reasons people never get their own business off the ground, are FEAR, and lack of capital.

FEAR.

First lets address the fear issues. Most people used to believe that working for a major corporation was a safe place to earn a living. In recent years, as downsizing, massive layoffs, and total disregard for employees, has become the way of life in major corporations, the perception has changed. Most people realize that they have no real security working for someone else and, if you don’t own your own business, you always follow the same rules.

Rule #1: He who owns the company makes all the rules.

Still, employees routinely sell themselves to a company at far less than they are worth in the name of security. Your employer tells you how much you can make, when to come to work, how long to work, when or if you can take time off, and most employees soon find themselves in a trap.

They don’t earn enough income to provide the things they want out of life, so they begin to use leverage in the form of credit to acquire the things they cant afford. Soon they make just enough income to service the debt and monthly bills, and are now trapped in their job. Even small increases in wages are soon offset by additional purchases and all the while the interest on their debts, eats their income up at alarming rates.

At this point employees ride a fine line between maintaining their debt service and total financial collapse, AND they have no control over their income. The employer or company can, and routinely does, layoff, right size, downsize or FIRE (the old fashion word for it) the employees.

Every day has the potential to be a good, and in some cases, a great day for you. Few of us get up in the morning thinking that we want this to be a bad day. Yet in many cases the day turns that way because of a person, an event or because we worry something in the future.

This Teaching Moment is about those small events that throw you off balance and negatively impact your day.

What stole your day? Was it a boss, an unruly child, the erratic driver on the way to work, not getting the “B” you expected on the history paper, a discourteous server at lunch, etc.

Every day there are numerous people or events that can prevent us from having a good day - if we let them. The key is not letting them “steal your day.”

In most cases we can not control these life experiences, but we can control how we react to them. Lao-Tzu, a Chinese Philosopher said: “He who conquers others is strong; he who conquers himself is mighty.”

Question for discussion:

1. Discuss the pluses and minus of your day with your family. Be specific.

2. Discuss with your family something that almost “stole your day.” Describe the event and how you handled it.

3. Do you notice a pattern? Are there particular people or events that seem to always steal your day? Say, the drive to work, the bus to school, and the neighbor’s barking dog? etc. Discuss.

Suggestions for implementation:

1. Do your- family members have suggestions on how you could have handled a particular situation? This is a learning experience for everyone in the family. The idea is to share positive ways to keep you positive and focused on what is really important.

2. Make this a fun discussion stimulating experience for everyone.

3. Learn to accept others. They may be having a bad day for any number of reasons. Take a couple of deep breathes and say to yourself: “I’m not going to let this steal my day.”

How much time and money do you spend on your beauty routine?

Over the years you will have spent a small fortune on all the creams, lotions and maybe even some beauty treatments.

But what is it costing the earth?

It’s never too late to redeem yourself. You can become an eco-beauty with very little effort.

Follow the 10 tips below to make sure you still look superb but don’t harm the earth at the same time.

1. Go natural. No we don’t mean no make up at all. You will naturally look better by getting a good nights sleep and you wont need as much make up as a consequence.

2. Recycle. Bottles, jars and tubes can all be recycled. No change to your beauty routine but the benefits to mother earth are there for all to see. A really simple one.

3. Spring Clean. Think of all the half used bottles and jars of cream you have. Instead of buying new creams ask yourself where you could reuse these creams. Face cream for example could easily be used on the ankles and feet. If you don’t intend using it, then give it away.

4. Be Minimal. Just use what you need. This saves on product and usually makes you look even better. Give it a try.

5. Drink lots of water. The right amount of water is different for everyone but one thing is for sure…. We don’t normally drink enough. Not only does it cleanse our insides but also the boost to our complexion is quite magnificent. Drink more, drink more, drink more… let that be your motto.

6. Half measures. Less is more. When your hairdresser tells you that you only need a small spoonful of shampoo they are telling the truth. Just use what you need. It will be less expensive for you as well.

7. Food for thought. Don’t throw out cucumbers just because they are too limp for the salad. Use them to soothe tired eyes. Look for beauty tips using natural products. You will be amazed at what you find.

8. Swap shop. Seek out those brands that are actively trying to make a difference and change to them. Look for proof that they really mean what they say.

9. Save time? Save the earth instead. Ready-made facial wipes are great for tired beauty fans - one wipe does the trick. But the cost to the environment is substantial. Why not just buy a face cloth instead? Does the same thing and only takes a few minutes more.

10. Chemical brothers. Check the labels. If your favourite beauty products use parabens and sodium laureth sulphate then ditch them.

Both of these ‘nasties’ have been identified as carcinogens with harmful effect on the planet. They can be bad for you as well causing skin irritation.

The above 10 tips are by no means complete, But if you use beauty products then you might as well keep the earth looking beautiful as well.

After your humans give you a bath, Don’t Let them Towel Dry you!
Instead, run to their bed, jump up and dry yourself off on the
sheets. This is especially good if it’s right before your humans

you have done something really bad. Then, watch as the humans
frantically search the house for the damage they think you have
caused. (Note: This only works when you have done absolutely
nothing wrong.)

Let the humans teach you a brand new trick. Learn it perfectly.
Then the humans try to demonstrate it to someone else, stare
blankly back at the humans. Pretend you have no idea what
they’re talking about.

Make your humans be patient. When you go outside to ‘pee’, sniff
around the entire yard as your humans wait. Act as if the spot
you choose to pee will ultimately decide the fate of the earth.

Draw attention to the human. When out for a walk always pick the
busiest, most visible spot to poop. Take your time and make sure
everyone watches. This works particularly well if your humans
have forgotten to bring a plastic bag.

When out for a walk, alternate between choking and coughing
every time a strange human walks by.

Make your own rules. Don’t always bring back the stick when
playing fetch with the humans. Make them go and chase it once in
a while.

Hide from your humans. When your humans come home, don’t greet
them at the door. Instead, hide from them, and make them think
something terrible has happened to you. (Don’t reappear until
one of your humans is panic-stricken and close to tears).

When your human calls you to come back in, always take your
time. Walk as slowly as possible back to the door.

Wake up twenty minutes before the alarm clock is set to go off
and make the humans take you out for your morning pee. As soon
as you get back inside, fall asleep. (Humans can rarely fall
back asleep after going outside, this will drive them nuts!)

The essence of the new basic technology of chromatography - chromabarography is the provision of the optimal conditions of the analysis by keeping unchanged the linear rate of an imaginary point - the zone of the sample moved in time by the carrier-gas from the inlet to the outlet of the chromatographic column, ∆ p being kept constant at its ends during the whole cycle of the analysis, by which a maximum column efficiency (Hayrapetyan’s Effect) is attained.

As the peak height is related with carrier-gas rate, wide peaks eluted later will be much sharper. This allows a better identification of low concentrations (increase in analysis accuracy);

Attainment of symmetrical peaks also in case of nonlinear adsorption isotherm, as the rear of the band is at a higher pressure than the front;

The substantial enrichment, the increase in concentration of the component in the center of the band is conditioned by the compression of the band both as a consequence of the moving pressure gradient compared with the initial sorption pressure, and as a consequence of the presence of the moving gradient of the optimal linear speed accompanying the band of components being analyzed from the inlet to the outlet of the chromatographic column during the while analysis cycle (increase in the efficiency of the separation of the components);

The pressure of the gas in the column can be changed almost instantaneously and equilibrium can be attained in a very short time. Pressure re-regulation excludes the necessity of long “periods of cooling” of the column (express - analysis, economy of electricity), while temperature increase programming may either cause evaporation of the stationary phase, which “flies out” of the column, or destroy it chemically to various molecules, which also will soon come out by the carrier-gas. The repetitive cycles of heating and cooling may cause compression of solid support particles during expansion, followed by destruction (crumbling) during compression, which leads to a progressive change of permeability.

You use your mouth for many different things. You eat with them, you show emotion with them, and you also do some bad things with them. Dr. Howard Glazer, the president of the Academy of General Dentistry explains that bad habits such as biting non-food objects can cause breaking and chipping of teeth. Over time this could lead to lost teeth or expensive tooth repair. Other habits that can cause problems include excessive digestion of juices and fruits that contain citric acid. An old wife’s tale suggests sucking on lemons to prevent colds, or to drink a lot of juice to stay healthy during the flu season. While the benefits of vitamin c is not disputed, the effect of long term exposure of acid on the teeth do cause damage. Over time, the teeth’s outer covering, the enamel, dissolves from the acid and appears caulky and can lead to not only excessively worn or chipped teeth , but also sensitive teeth. It makes sense that without the outer protective layer of enamel, teeth are more sensitive to hot, cold , and sweets. The teeth will also be more prone to cavities. Drinking excess soda can also do this since soda contains acid. If you are drinking juices or soda, limit to a few seconds the time you hold the drink in your mouth and make sure to rinse your mouth afterwards. You can also drink through a straw which will help avoid excess exposure of the teeth to the acid in the drink.

When I was a child, my mother gave me a hard tooth brush and told me to brush my teeth thoroughly. I began to brush my teeth as hard as I could thinking that by doing this I would make my teeth extra clean. Over the years, I began to see the gums recede and teeth wear. When I entered dental school, I learned that hard brushing and the use of a hard or even medium toothbrush can harm the teeth and gums and eventually cause damaged gums and exposed nerves. Proper brushing is more gentle almost massage-like involving circular strokes with a soft toothbrush. Start below the gumline keeping the brush at a angle and move the brush in a circular pattern while rolling your wrist. Studies have shown that brushing with a soft toothbrush works as well as a harder toothbrush, but with less damage to the tooth. The down side is that you need to replace soft toothbrushes more often, usually once a month.
Do you suffer from pain and soreness in your facial muscles or joints in the mourning? If so , you may be clenching or grinding your teeth while you sleep. Leaning on your jaw while you are watching T.V., excessive gum chewing, or opening your mouth too wide when you eat can also result in undo pain and strain. These habits can lead to problems with your TMJ (temperomandibular joint).
You may be surprised to learn that the following habits can also lead to joint, gum, or orthodontic problems:
Nail Biting- Localized gum infections can occur when slivers of fingernail get stuck between your teeth or lodged under your gum.
Tooth-pick use- Be cautious with toothpicks; they can damage the gum tissue bewtween your teeth by splintering or cause dental problems if you chew on them for long periods of time.
Tongue thrusting- Many children develop the habit of thrusting their teeth against their teeth when they swallow or of sucking a thumb or finger. Not only can the teeth be pushed out of alignment, but normal development of the jawbone can be disturbed.
