Proven Techniques For Building A Responsive List

Filed under:Great Marketing Tips — posted on @ 8:32 am

We’ve all heard those who have Internet business-success stories proclaim, “Nothing will make you as much money as building a responsive list!” The trouble is, most people won’t let you in on their secrets for building these goldmines. In reality, it isn’t all that hard to do.

I’ll be the first to break the silence. Below you’ll find the proven techniques you need for building a responsive list. In step-by-step format, you’ll see exactly what actions to take - and in which order - to develop a subscriber base you can generate revenue from for years to come!

STEP ONE - Find Out What Your Subscribers Want

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make when trying to build a list is to not understand their subscribers. Once you’ve decided what topic your newsletter will revolve around, take time to interact with your prospective subscribers.

Ask them what they want to read about. Find out where they are struggling. Research their needs diligently. This is the only way you’ll be sure to provide what your subscribers really want.

One great idea is to use www.surveymonkey.com to conduct a survey. Ask several questions in order to find out as much as you can about your subscribers (or future subscribers). These questions might include:

1) Are you male or female?

2) What is your occupation?

3) How long have you [been in business, owned a pet, designed stained glass windows, or whatever relates to the topic of your ezine]?

4) What are the three areas you struggle most with in regard to [the topic of your ezine]?

5) What information have you been searching for, but been unable to find?

6) What article topics would you like to see in [name of your ezine]?

And any others you can think of.

STEP TWO - Have Something Of Value To Offer

Once you’ve gotten the information you need from your subscribers, don’t waste it! Use the information to offer something of value.

Did you find from your survey that most of your subscribers are professional women with children who are interested in timesaving tips? Then give them tips! Not worn out, everyday, ordinary tips. Take the time to create or research innovative tips designed specifically to help professional women with children live more productive and stress-free lives.

If you deliver a newsletter that’s disappointing in the eyes of your readers, you’ll soon find your subscriber base will dwindle down to nothing, so go all out!

STEP THREE - Promote, Promote, Promote!

Yes, you’ll want to put subscription boxes throughout your own website to drive subscribers to your list. But don’t stop there. There are virtually TONS of ezine directories and ezine announcement lists online that can dramatically increase your number of subscribers.

Here’s a short list. You can quickly search any search engine to find more ezine directories.

http://www.e-zinez.com
http://www.inkpot.com/zines/

http://www.ideamarketers.com
http://www.list-a-day.com
http://www.zinos.com

STEP FOUR - Be A Dependable Resource

Word of mouth spreads quickly about newsletters and ezines that actually offer solid, dependable content and resources. Make sure you are one of them!

With each issue, take time to do your best work yet. Offer original articles or new reprints (not articles that are months old) plus resources that you have checked out yourself and approve of. Your subscribers will soon develop a sense of trust and loyalty and will repay you for your time by buying from you.

A FINAL WORD OF CAUTION: DON’T endorse every new ebook, software product, or affiliate program that comes down the pike. Be selective. Remember, once your subscribers realize what an honest and true publisher you are, they’ll gladly trust your opinions, purchase those products you selectively recommend, and refer your ezine to others they know.

Fitness While Pregnant - Is It Safe?

For many years it was believed that once a woman became pregnant she should just lounge on the couch and rest for hours on end, each and every day. After numerous clinical studies it was found that most women should do quite the opposite.

In most cases, women should continue with their daily routines, and if they are not doing so already, they should begin a regular daily fitness regimen.

It has been found that exercising during pregnancy has numerous beneficial effects. Exercising will give you more energy and stamina, increase your confidence, and give you the extra strength you need for delivering your newborn.

A daily fitness regimen performed by the mother-to-be during pregnancy has also been found to produce a healthier and stronger baby.

An added bonus for those of you dreading those long hours of child labor is that regular exercise during pregnancy has been known to reduce the time frame for this process by about a third. This in itself is a great motivating factor,
since every hour spent in labor can seem like a much longer period of time.

While exercise will undoubtedly help you obtain all these wonderful benefits, there are some guidelines you should follow:

Always consult our physician before beginning any diet and/or exercise regimen. This is to ensure you will be able to do this without causing harm to yourself and your recovering body.

Always start out slowly. Try several activities and do not attempt to perform very strenuous exercises or spend too much time at the gym. Find some exercises or activities you like and enjoy and do them regularly, but try not to exceed more than 30 minutes at a time. If you begin to feel exerted or worn out, stop exercising immediately and rest for a while. The whole purpose of exercising is to help maintain good health and self esteem, not injure or endanger yourself or your unborn.

Avoid high altitudes, extreme humidity, or especially warm temperatures when exercising. Getting overheated is not beneficial to you or our baby, and it could actually cause harm. Be sure you drink plenty of water and keep yourself
hydrated.

Monitor your heart rate, your breathing, and your pulse. This will allow you to observe your progress and notice any limitations you may need to be aware of. Knowing this information and making a note of it while exercising could assist your physician in diagnosing any problems or potential hazards you may face.

While you are in your final trimester, try to avoid any bouncing, jumping, or running. These activities can potentially cause injury to you or your unborn child.

Pregnancy causes many changes for any woman, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Be sure you communicate openly with your partner and your doctor. Keep all of your limitations in mind and never try to exercise more than is reasonable for your stage of pregnancy.

Networking Meetings - Networking Newbies - Take the Sting Out of Meetings

Active business networking gets results. But when you are new to networking, either as a start-up business or as a responsibility in your new job, it can be very scary going to a meeting of business people. Here are 9 tips for networking newbies…

Make the meeting as easy as possible for yourself:

1) Contact the host or organiser, explain you are new to this and would like some help. Ask if you can have a copy of the attendee list BEFORE the meeting.

2) When you get the list, check if there is anyone on the list you know; or a business that your company deals with.

3) Then check who you would like to make contact with; who you would like to meet.

4) Arrange to be introduced: If you find someone (or a company) you know on the list, give him/her a call and ask if he knows the people you want to meet. If he does, ask if he would mind introducing you at the meeting. You now have someone you can talk to immediately you arrive (the person you’ve just called) and you have a goal to meet someone new, in a safe environment when you are introduced.

If you do not recognise any names on the list, call your host/organiser and ask if he/she would introduce you to the people you want to meet.

5) Arrive early. It is a lot easier to greet people as they arrive and have them join YOU, than it is to arrive later and then try to ‘break into’ conversations that have already started.

6) When you are introduced to someone make a point to remember his/her name.

7) Ask questions about him (or her); his interests; how long he’s been in that business; what’s his biggest challenge; what advice would he give to someone like you, who is new to networking (he’ll feel flattered you’ve asked). And listen to his answer(see my article: Networking Meetings - Creating Rapport with People You Meet).

8) When you are asked a question, such as “What do you do?” have a succinct, but preferably intriguing, answer. Don’t launch into a full presentation. (see my articles: Networking Your Way to Profits: Part 1 ‘The Power of The Elevator Speech’ and Networking Your Way to Profits: Part 2 ‘Creating Your Elevator Speech’).

9) Remember – networking is about creating relationships, so consider how you can help the people you meet – and that does not mean by selling something to him (or her). Think about who you can introduce him to; people who need his services or products or can supply something he has expressed an interest in that you are not able to supply.

Prostate Cancer - Are Men Their Own Worst Enemy?

Filed under:Hall Of Medical Resources — posted on @ 2:08 am

The commonest form of cancer in the United States today is skin cancer but, to many people’s surprise, prostate cancer is the second most frequently seen type of cancer and results in some 30,000 deaths each year. So just what is prostate cancer?

The human body starts its life as a single cell which divides repeatedly to form new cells. As cell division continues so the newly created cells, acting as the building blocks of the human body, form themselves into walls of tissue creating the various parts that we recognize as the human body. This is not however the end of the process as, throughout our lives, our bodies change constantly with old cells wearing out and dying and other newer cells continuing the process of division to replace them.

Occasionally however this process of division does not follow the pattern that it should and a cell divides incorrectly, forming two cells which do not carry the correct information to function normally. At the same time this frequently sets off a chain reaction so that these cells in turn begin to divide, forming further faulty cells.

This, in simple terms, is the basis of all cancers and, where faulty cell division takes place in the prostate gland, then the result is prostate cancer.

The prostate gland, which is about the size of a walnut, sits between the bladder and the rectum and partially surrounds the urethra (the tube which carries urine from the bladder) and its main function is to produce and store a clear fluid which makes up about thirty percent of male semen.

Although we tend to think of cancer whenever the prostate is mentioned, there are in fact numerous other problems that can affect the prostate gland, many of which can be quite easily treated.

Prostate cancer is rarely seen in men under the age of 40 and, although cases are seen between the ages of 40 and 65, the vast majority of prostate cancer cases arise in men over the age of 65.

In many cases however the progress of the disease is slow and early stage prostate cancer often carries few if any noticeable symptoms. For this reason many men can suffer from prostate cancer for years before it is diagnosed and the average age at which diagnosis is made in the United States is currently 70.

If caught in its early stages prostate cancer can be successfully treated either by surgery or radiation therapy (radiotherapy) and, while such treatment can often leave its mark in terms of ongoing problems with urination or a degradation or loss of sexual function, the cancer will often not return.

Problems arise however if prostate cancer is more advanced at the time of diagnosis and has already spread into neighboring tissue and bone, or has been carried to other parts of the body, usually through the lymphatic system. Here a combination of surgery, radiation therapy and possibly hormone therapy can certainly help in treating the problem but the cancer will often reappear.

Perhaps the biggest problem lies in the fact that, in terms of their general health and sexual health in particular, men have traditionally suffered in silence and will only venture into the doctor’s surgery when they are at death’s door.

This fortunately is starting to change in our modern society, even if only slowly, and as an increasing number of men turn to their doctor when they first suspect that something might be wrong, rather than waiting until they know something is wrong, then perhaps the early diagnosis of prostate cancer will result in fewer deaths each year from this treatable disease.
