The Natural And Historic Wonder Of Cades Cove Tennessee

If you miss Cades Cove Tennessee while traveling in the southeastern part of the United States, you’ve missed one of the most picturesque locations in North America.

Cades Cove is a 6,800 acre scenic paradise located in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park near Townsend and Gatlinburg, Tennessee. With nearly two million visitors a year, Cades Cove TN is one of the most visited areas of any National Park located in the United States.

Cades Cove Tennessee belonged to the Cherokee Nation prior to 1818 and was settled by John and Lucretia Oliver in the fall of 1818. The Cherokee were not a threat to the small numbers of whites in the cove for a few short years until a larger population suddenly turned them hostile. It is sadly ironic that the Cherokee, who befriended and helped the Olivers survive their first few years in the cove, were eventually chased out principally by John Oliver himself.

Cades Cove fell on hard times during the Civil War as most of the population supported the Union and were harassed by Confederates from North Carolina.

The Cove returned to it’s rural lifestyle after the Civil War as industry began to spring up in the surrounding the areas. This led to a slow migration from the Cove through the early 1920’s when the Great Smoky Mountain National Park was established in 1926.

The last resident, Kermit Caughron, lived in the Cove until he passed away in 1999. Despite Kermit’s home being of important historic significance, the National Park Service decide to tear it down in 2001 because it did not fit in with the historic setting of the Cove.

Even though life was harsh for the early settlers of Cades Cove TN, they must have had a wonderful appreciation for the breathtaking beauty of the land they called home for many years. Despite the unfortunate outcome of the Cades Cove community, the land is now preserved for all to enjoy.

There are many recreational activities to participate in while visiting Cades Cove, but by far the most popular is to drive the 11 mile loop around the cove. Many choose to ride a bicycle around the loop to get a more intimate view of the scenery and some even walk.

You can spend anywhere from a couple of hours to the entire day enjoying the Cades Cove loop. If spotting wildlife is your aim, you need to arrive early in the morning or stay till dusk.

Besides the loop road, Cades Cove TN also offers camping, picnicking, hiking, fishing, biking, hayrides, guided programs and shopping. The shopping is not the crass commercialization you find in Gatlinburg. Mostly you will find freshly milled grains, historical items, books and photography relating specifically to Cades Cove or the surrounding area.

Camping in Cades Cove is truly an enjoyable experience. It is the most popular campground in the National Park. If you would like to camp in Cades Cove you can make reservations via the National Park Reservation Center. You can only make reservations up to 3 weeks in advance online or 5 months in advance by calling 1-800-365-2267.

The rich history and the stark beauty make Cades Cove Tennessee a must see on your next trip through the Southeastern United States…don’t miss it!

The Key to a Great Relationship

We all want great relationships but they seem so elusive. What
can you to strengthen yours? The key is communication, but try
taking it up a notch. Communicate at all levels with your
partner – emotional, mental, physical and spiritual.

Make time for communication with your partner, and remember that
the greatest gift you can give someone else is to listen to
them. Here are some tips for listening with love.

GIVE YOUR UNDIVIDED ATTENTION

This means look at your partner, quiet background noise, and rid
your mind of distractions. Don’t be thinking about your day, or
thinking about what you’re going to say – next, or ever. Just
still your mind, and make it receptive for taking in what the
other person has to say.

ASK ABOUT FEELINGS

Ask you partner how they’re feeling, but include all levels –
emotional, mental, physical and spiritual. This will help them
get in touch with their center, and will also bring you closer
to know how they’re feeling in all areas.

INDICATE WITH NONVERBAL EXPRESSIONS THAT YOU ARE GENUINELY
INTERESTED

In doing this, you will generate interest. It’s not always easy
to listen to what your partner has to say. You may have heard
this, or another version, many times before. Often we have
recurring things at work, for instance, that we need to talk
about. Maintain active eye contact, add “uh huh” or “really?” or
“oh my” from time-to-time, and try your best to keep still.
Fidgeting may not mean you’re not interested, but it may be
taken that way.

Learn to express love and concern on your face. It’s very
important. This is natural when you look at your baby, for
instance. Your heart melts … your eyes soften … you can’t help a
big smile. Give this gift to your partner. Show that you love
them. It’s in the eyes, first and foremost.

It’s also nice to add, “I love you,” or “I enjoy listening to
you talk.” These reassurances are loving, and can’t be overused.

MAKE IT YOUR PARTNER’S TIME TO TALK

It’s better if you can take turns. This will allow your partner
the time to talk it out completely, without you feeling the
pressure to get on to your turn, and your concerns. In a good
relationship, you can be sure your turn will come.

DO “TALK STORY”

This is a Polynesian term for a special kind of communication
between two lovers. It means the couple sets aside a special
time and one partner just talks and talks until they are
through. It can go on for quite a long time. The other person
just listens. This is harder than it may sound at first, but you
can develop the habit, and it will greatly enrich your
relationship.

It’s similar to “free associating,” because the speaker can
count on not being corrected, judged, interrupted, or even
really commented upon. This is amazingly freeing, healing, and
amazingly hard to come by. It allows the speaker to get to the
heart of the matter, and his or her feelings, and learn all
sorts of things.

MANAGE TIME

Time is a crucial element to loving communication. We are under
so much time pressure these days, our serious conversations can
be squeezed in between changing diapers, taking out the garbage,
and getting the dinner dishes done. We often feel rushed to
hurry up and say what we have to say, and we listen the same
way, unconsciously sending out the vibes that we hope our
partner will just hurry up and get it said because we have to
catch our favorite television show, or get to sleep because we
have a big meeting in the morning.

The other person can sense when we’re listening this way, and it
defeats the purpose of Talk Story.

A good way to do this is lying side-by-side, on the bed, a
hammock, a blanket under the stars, a sailboat! It is “just”
talking and one of the most healing things a person can do. The
other person just listens, without making comments or judgments.

LEARN TO LOVE THE SILENCES

Between two people who are intimate, silence can be a very
special place. They are often the prelude to very important
sharing.

For one thing, it is rarely tolerated in casual conversation, so
it is special just in itself. Being able to sit with the silence
of your partner will allow them to look more deeply within, and
bring up what it is they need to talk about. Don’t rush them by
feeling the need to “fill air time.” Allowing empty space is a
great gift you can give one another. Give them permission to
take their time, and to fill the silence when and if they’re
ready.

Good communication between two partners involves talking and
listening. A lot more has been written on the art of talking.
Remember that the listening, and the silences, are equally
important.

Is It Really Possible To Find A Russian Bride? Yes, It Is.

Filed under:Life Of Relationships — posted on @ 4:08 pm

If you are like I was a year ago and are getting tired of your
local singles club dates and their attitudes towards almost
anyone (including you and your pals) and always seeing the
pretty ladies fall for the guy with the big bucks, that by the
way, even if he doesn’t want to admit it; has to pay for some
“love” all time; then maybe you have been day dreaming and
thinking about what you are doing wrong.

The truth is that maybe you are not doing anything wrong, maybe
you just happen to be in the wrong place. And being in the wrong
place easily makes finding a charming and beautiful woman that
you may even consider marrying and having a nice life together
an endeavor easily comparable to an impossible dream.

“I wish I could find a woman that will be different to what I
usually find everywhere”. Quite probably are the words you keep
repeating to yourself those lonely nights at home without really
knowing how to pass from dreaming to reality. But now it’s time
for you to consider stop dreaming and start acting. I have good
news because everything indicates you may find a bright reality
ahead pretty soon. All you need is some patience and the right
information.

It is very probable you’ve heard before about those famous and
charming Russian ladies from the former Soviet Union that you
can find on the web. And it is also very probable that you, as
many men around the world, still have a good deal of prejudice
about entering in a relationship with these beautiful Russian
women; ladies that may seem you too close to a far away dream
and for many even an invitation from scammers.

But the truth is that they indeed exist and are also dreaming,
like you are, about finding the right man they can’t, and in
many cases will never find at home. And yes, most of them are
sincere women looking for their soulmates and willing to build a
family with that lucky man they choose as their beloved partner.

Stories about scammers and other terror news have been too
widely abused and distributed without considering the real
situation and taking a few cases of abuses as a rule for all the
others. But in reality there have been, and there will always be
a bunch of wonderful stories about couples that met through the
internet and are now living together and building strong
families.

Russian women want and need men that are willing to build a
family and give respect and love to their particular woman. They
are not looking for good looks, jerks or millionaires aboard.
Just a decent and working man that can provide for a family and
in whom she can trust. And no, a genuine, marriage interested
lady will not be chasing after a green card neither. For most of
them it is all abut love and the imperative cultural need all
Russian women have for a husband. You may be surprised to learn
that a woman in Russia that is over 23 and has not been married
yet is considered a woman left to be single. No matter how
beautiful she may look.

The amount of men population in countries that once belonged to
the Soviet Union has been decreasing making the ratio of men to
women less than one. And from the ones available only a few are
marriage minded due to the hard economical situation of their
countries, and most of those get married in their early 20’s. As
you can see it’s not a very nice situation if you are a woman
looking for a mate. So, women are left with two options; being
alone and single all their lives or look for a husband abroad,
with the immigration process that this will imply and which is
always a difficult decision for them to make.

To leave their country, family and friends to come to a strange
place where they don’t know anyone and not even enough of the
language is a hard decision. But again, the will and desire to
build a family is strong, and so culturally rooted in them that
they will do what is needed in order to find love and build
their own families.

So, there you have it. If you have been day dreaming about a
charming woman to marry and you are willing to give her your
love and respect, you have the blueprint of the road that will
lead you to her arms. Turn to Russia, and look for love. You
won’t regret it. If you are looking for something else, don’t
waste your time not hers.

The Chainsaw- Useful tool or weapon of choice.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies, and others like them, are
what I like to consider true horror movies, or even terror
movies. They have the ability to really put a fear into someone.
At least they’re the type that puts a fear into me. Friday the
13th, Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, these movies are of
the fantastic, not what is real; therefore they have little
scare power. They may be able to get you to jump, if my wife
sneaks up on me she’ll be able to momentarily frighten me, but
she’s not scary. Quick thrills, or quick scares are not horror
movies to be. Horror is beyond such simple tricks, to truly be
horrified you have to care, and who cares about a bunch of pot
smoking punks taking a summer off to have sex when they should
be working to pay for school!

You may be thinking to yourself how the Texas Chainsaw movies
are any different. They’re not real either, and you’re right
they aren’t technically real. But what they represent is an
actual part of society. Tobe Hooper, the creator of the Texas
Chainsaw, based the main horror figure on a real life person. Ed
Gains. Now Hooper was young when he first learned of Gains and
the image of him became distorted, Hooper based Leatherface (the
manic who wears womens faces and skins) on what he picture Gains
to be like. Now of course Gains looked normal, but he was very
similar to Leatherface. Gains would rob graves for body parts to
make almost anything, furniture, soup bowls, whatever he wanted.
He also did some other things that are much worse but I won’t
delve into too much detail on those. These people actually do
exist. Murders who haven’t been caught, mass murders that
haven’t been caught.

Sure the original Friday the 13th was based on a concept that
might be true, child drowns, mother seeks revenge, sure it’s
possible. But what about the next 10 movies? The characters in
these movies are indestructible, or so it seems, by the end they
have some kind of plan that will usually work. In the Texas
Chainsaw movies however, most don’t even get a chance to fight,
the family knows they are regular people who can be damaged just
like anyone else. It is realistic.

Fear to me only exists if I think it is possible that what I’m
afraid of might exist. I don’t think it’s possible that a psycho
family in Texas will kill me, but maybe there’s a psycho family
right next door to me, or down the street, or in the next place
I intend to visit. These are practical fears in my mind. Of
course I’m not as worried of being murdered as I am of getting
into a car accident or something much more probable, but when
I’m watching the movie I let myself be drawn into the fear,
that’s the fun. Movies that don’t even stand a chance of being
even remotely true just don’t do it for me. The Ring for
example, yes some good effects but when I got home that night I
wasn’t bothered by the TV. However I watched the Blair Witch
Project at a cottage and the forest was suddenly frightening,
not because I thought a witch might live in it, but because I
could easily get lost in it.

True terror, and maybe you don’t want to experience true terror,
but if you do, watch the Texas Chainsaw with an open mind, think
how you would handle yourself in that situation. The good thing
that comes from horror movies is that we get to experience an
emotion that we really don’t want to experience in real life. I
don’t want to be in a position that causes real fear, but I want
to get a rough idea of it, and true horror movies do just that.
They give you a taste of the real thing. There are two very good
reasons for wanting to feel what it’s like to be afraid, one, it
can be a huge rush adrenaline is the best drug, the movie is the
method, roller coasters accomplish the same feat. The second
reason is that you may have some insight into how you’ll react
in a real life situation. Obviously you’ll never really know
until you are in a bad situation and hopefully most of us won’t
even be in such a situation. If you even have a taste though,
you may know if you’re a fight or flight kind of person.

Understanding why your brain is reacting in any given way will
allow you to make rational decisions in irrational situations.
You may want to run but if you know why you want to run you may
be inclined to stay when staying it really the right thing to
do. This does not only apply to life or death situations it can
apply to almost anything. Have you ever felt bullied by a car
salesman? These are confident people you’re dealing with and if
you’re not as confident as they are, you should still be able to
walk out without being ripped off. So what am I saying? I guess
I’m saying if you want a deal on a car, go shopping after you
watch a good horror flick. Saw II is in the theatres as of the
writing of this article that would be a good example of what I
call a true horror movie. Go show that car dealer who’s boss,
just don’t bring your chainsaw.

A Guide To The Wood And Metal Wine Rack

If you are the type of wine connoisseur that likes a combination of styles and textures, a wood and metal wine rack is your best choice. Whether you own a restaurant and want to add some class to your bar area or you are a homeowner looking for storage for your wine, a metal & wood wine rack is well suited to fit any person’s needs.

When looking for a wood and metal wine rack, you need to have a good idea of a suitable size and shape. If you have the space, there are full wine racks (wine racks built into a buffet table) that incorporate wooden cupboards and shelves with metal wine bottle holders. A full metal & wood wine rack takes up a little floor space, but it adds an immense amount of storage space. There are also wine racks that sit on your table or counter top and some that hang from the ceiling or wall. The model you buy depends solely on the area you have available.

You must also consider how many bottles of wine you plan to store. If you are a moderate drinker with five or six bottles of wine on hand, you will need a wood and metal wine rack that can hold that amount of wine. If you are more casual and drink a bottle or two per month, you will not need more than a tabletop or wall hanging model most likely.

It is also imperative to decide if you will need storage for wine glasses and perhaps some wine glass charms as well. For under $100, you can find a metal & wood wine rack that offers storage for up to eight wine glasses, a dozen bottles of wine, and even draws for wine glass charms. To add additional class to your dining room or kitchen, you can buy one of the inexpensive wine bottle openers that open a bottle of wine in a jiffy and store it on your new wood and metal wine rack.

Take a good look at your kitchen or dining room and create a visual plan for the placement of your new wood and metal wine rack. Knowing the dimensions that fit your room, the price you can afford, and the storage capacity in advance will help tremendously when you go shopping. Taking this simple step can help ensure you get the wine rack of your dreams.

Dressed To Chill by Marion Meadows: Smooth Jazz CD Review

Dressed To Chill is the latest smooth jazz CD released by the very talented soprano/tenor saxophonist and clarinetist Marion Meadows who once again has delivered a brilliant collection of tracks. I’m confident Meadows fans, and smooth jazz fans alike will be pleased with this one.

Meadows has been a superstar in the smooth jazz genre for quite some time and Dressed To Chill is an excellent illustration as to why.

These days it’s a very rare CD on which every single song is good or better than the one before it. This CD is certainly one of those rare CDs.

The CD launches with the title track, Dressed To Chill and will definitely be heard on smooth jazz radio stations everywhere, and deservedly so. From there Meadows and company proceeds to display why he is considered one the best saxophonist of our time as he mixes his signature phrasings throughout the CD.

Smooth Jazz music fans will recognize some of the well known contributors on the project including guitarists Chuck Loeb and Freddy Fox plus a few other notables as well.

Overall My Point Of View is an outstanding release. What I call, must have music. I give it two thumbs up and is most definitely a worthy addition to any smooth jazz collection.

If you’re a Marion Meadows fan this is a CD your collection should not be without.

While this entire CD is outstanding the truly standout tunes are Dressed To Chill [track 1], Miss Know It All [track 4], and Steppers…Let’s Do This [track 10]. My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore […as in “Stuck On REpeat”] is track 7, Coco Flow. A very nice tune!

Leader, Show Some Passion - Nu Leadership Series

“A leader does not deserve the name unless he is willing occasionally to stand alone.”
Henry A. Kissinger

Do you have an inspired leader in your organization? Are you feeling motivated in your organization? If not, you need to explore the Passionate Leader. What is a Passionate Leader? This person has an internal drive because “he loves what he does.”

I will make a distinction between a great leader and great manager. I’ve seen passionate managers; however, they weren’t good leaders. These managers were zealots for getting the tasks completed. Their influence, however, was a function of their organizational authority. Joyner, author of Leadership Management, notes the qualities that make a good leader would make poor managers in general.

What is the major reason? A manager must be detailed-oriented to achieve success while a good leader must be concept-oriented (seeing the big picture). There are a few exceptions, however. Joyner explains that large organizations are usually bureaucratic and make it difficult for great leaders to rise to the top. In my organization, it is difficult to implement innovative processes due to a bureaucratic structure. Managers are rewarded for handling tasks, not inspiring people.

Some leaders are forced to start new organizations (for example, Steve Jobs of Apple). Jesus Christ was not a part of “the establishment,” either. Countless leaders (especially change agents) are energized by their passion. I would say it is a critical component for a servant leader. If you want a more effective organization, leader, you need to show some passion.

How Do You Make Money Online?

Filed under:Living With Publishers — posted on @ 6:48 am

If you learn how other people make money online, I mean really study how it’s done and ask a lot of questions, there is no reason in the world you cannot make money on the internet as well.
How do people make money with websites? There are literally tens of thousands of things people make money on from the net. From hard goods of all kinds (anything that can be shipped, including cars and boats!) to information and memberships.

People make money selling insurance, car parts, reports on every imaginable topic people want to know more about, selling affiliate products, and even fundraising for charity!

That’s right! People make money helping their favorite charities raise money. By creating an in-demand product for a charity to sell to their members, and letting them keep at least 50%, you can make money as a professional fundraiser.

I know someone who makes money selling a dog biscuit and dog food cookbook! That’s right, a cookbook for dog lovers to make treats for their pets. I told you! Anything goes on the net as long as there are buyers looking for what you sell.

It’s truly mind boggling how some people make money online. You just have to be creative and understand how the net works and how people shop online. You have to know how to get into the search engines so people can find you.

And most of all you need a couple good ideas, or find other people with great ideas and sell THEIR stuff for commission! There is no excuse for failure – the world of internet marketing is your oyster!

There are tons of resource sites that can help you understand every single minute detail of making money online from setting up a website to choosing a hosting service to taking credit cards and filling orders. There’s nothing else like it in the world.

I have a site that helps people find ways to make money online. I make money with information products, and help others learn how to make money online doing the same thing.

Some people make money on Ebay auctioning things people are searching for right now all over the world. Still other people sell their time as Virtual Assistants helping busy executives and other business owners complete mundane but important tasks the business owner has no time to do.

With some referrals, over time you can be busier than you ever imagined with clients beating down your door because they heard you do great work at reasonable rates. All this without ever meeting ANY of your clients face-to-face. Working online makes working for people in other countries a snap, as long as you speak the language, it’s no different than if the person you sell to or work with lives right down the street.

Bottom line: You CAN make money online if you are the type of person who is a self-starter and motivated to work toward your goals even when the going gets tough.

Improve Your Image at Work

Filed under:Life Of Health — posted on @ 5:32 am

The image we have at the place we work or, in other words, what people we work with think about us, is always important for each and every one of us. It sometimes happens that you’re very close to a promotion and you’re wondering how to prove that you’re better than your hard-working colleague; or maybe you realized you would like to get along better with the persons you meet at work everyday. In any of these cases, as well as in others, an improvement of your image can only have positive results.

There are many ways in which you can modify or adapt your image to your true needs and here are some of them:

1. Tips regarding the relation with your colleagues.

- Getting along well with the people around you is sometimes a question of diplomacy. Take some time and analyze each and single one of them, established their needs and try to be helpful – even though they would be suspicious at the beginning, after a while you are sure to obtain the desired result. After all, who wouldn’t want to have a partner at work, offering to help him finish the project earlier? This way, you will not only make proof that you are a wonderful team worker, but you also make sure you have somebody to turn to, when you need to leave early and finish your at the same time.

- Pay attention to what your colleagues have to say. Although the meeting might be just as boring as usual, the fact that you express an opinion about what another person is presenting, will sure put your personality in a good light. Don’t hesitate to congratulate your workmates every time they accomplish something, no matter how insignificant it might be. This way, they will feel you approve and admire them and they will always come to you for advice. Also, don’t forget how interested we all are about our physical appearance! Thus, be smart enough not to miss any chance to compliment a colleague when he or she got a new hair cut, a new outfit or simply looks good that day. Remember how good, a compliment like that, makes you feel.

- Whenever it is not impossible or very difficult, try to do little things for your workmates. For example, when you go out to buy yourself coffee or lunch, ask the others if they need anything. Imagine how good it would made you feel if somebody offered you a cup of coffee, when you’re too caught with your work at the office.

2. Reorganize your office.

- Design the room you’re working in, so that it looks more like a welcoming space, rather than a traditional office. Mind things like the color of the walls, the type and color of furniture etc. Also, remember how nice it is to remark living things in other people’s offices. What about placing some nice plants or an aquarium in the room you spend eight hours daily? On one hand it will point out that you indeed like your job, since you invest time and energy to decorate your office, and it will make the others pay you more visits. However, do not exaggerate by adding a bed and shower in your office!

Depending on the environment we work in, it is sure that, sooner or later, we will have to upgrade our image, so whenever you feel is necessary, don’t hesitate to do it!

Researching Vehicles Online

The purchase of a new car is a serious investment. It is best
that you do your homework before purchasing a new vehicle, to
avoid ending up with a vehicle thats overpriced or just not
right for your needs. Luckily, with the help of the internet,
you can do all of your research directly online from the comfort
of your home.

Your first goal should be to figure out what type of vehicle is
right for your family. Are you looking for a sports car, or do
you have children and need a sedan, minivan or SUV? You need to
consider how many seats you need and how much storage space for
cargo.

With todays rising gas prices, you may want to opt for the most
fuel efficient type of vehicle. In other words, carefully
compare the difference in gas mileage between two types of
vehicles before choosing the one thats right for you. A sedan
will likely use much less gas than a minivan, and if you dont
need the extra seats or cargo room, you can save a significant
ammount of fuel cost over the lifetime of a vehicle. Minivans
and SUV’s use similar ammounts of gas, depending on the size of
the vehicle. A mini SUV may be a good choice over a full size
SUV, saving you money every time you fill up at the pumps.

After you know what type of vehicle you are shopping for, you
can focus on a make and model. Be sure to read reviews from
existing owners, they often times can save you from purchasing
something that isnt going to make you happy.

There are many excellent consumer review sites on the internet
that have a wealth of information on what owners like and
dislike about their vehicles.

Here are a couple of sites to get you started:
http://auto.consumerguide.com http://www.edmunds.com

Many auto review sites also offer price guides so that you can
know in advance what the vehicle of your choice is likely to
cost you. Also, auto makers often offer price quotes directly
from their sites. You can also find additional information,
pictures, and sometimes video at the auto makers sites.

Once you have done all of your research, selected the make an
model of the vehicles you are interested in, you can then go to
your local dealership armed with all of the information
necessary to make an informed buying decision. By researching
vehicles online, you can save time, money and gain piece of
mind.
