Planning for the Intangibles

Every state has statutes and mechanisms in place that deal with disposal of tangible assets whether the deceased had a will or not. Families might fight over who gets the house, the cars, the stocks and the cash, but there is generally no question about where such property is located.

On the other hand, many of the questions surrounding intangible digital assets are just beginning to be asked, much less answered. Estate planning in the information age raises a whole new set of issues that just didn’t exist even as few as ten years ago.

When a person dies, for example, who inherits the computer files, the web pages, blogs and emails? More complicated yet, how are online bank accounts, stock holdings that exist entirely in digital media, or the rights to an exclusively online business to be handled? The proliferation of online businesses and the world’s propensity for doing paperless business means that digital holdings very often have considerable monetary value. What if nobody knows your passwords or your various usernames? Do your digital assets just disappear into the ether? Can your online business be seized and sold to pay your creditors?

The dynamic nature of Internet transactions makes their inclusion in a will eminently impractical. User names and passwords change, new businesses are created, new stocks are e-traded, and new email accounts come into being. Changing a will, or adding a codicil, every time your online dealings change is not at all feasible.

Even though the law governing digital assets is unclear, largely because it hasn’t yet been written, there are ways to protect those assets and make sure your heirs are able to locate and use them.

First, keep a master list of all your online dealings, complete with urls, user names and passwords. The list should include items like domain names, where they are registered, and when they need to be renewed to keep the business name and Internet location. Put this particular information on paper, update it every time something new is added or something old deleted, and keep it in a safe place with your other important business papers, preferably in a safety container.

Make sure your attorney or your estate executor is aware of the list, even if you don’t want it opened until after your death. Instruct your executor or attorney as to when the list is to become available to your heirs – for example in the case of serious illness in the event that someone needs to take care of online business transactions in your stead. Such instructions may or may not be legally binding, but chances are your instructions will be followed, as a matter of moral obligation.

If you have a prosperous online business, online bank accounts, e-trade accounts, or other valuable digital assets, those need to be figured into your estate planning. Otherwise, your heirs may be stuck with a messy situation and many unexpected expenses, or even legal challenges to deal with – problems that your estate planning was initially designed to protect against.

Acne In Teens - The Do’s and Don’ts!

Acne in teens is very common. It usually appears at the onset of puberty and can be quite distressing for teenagers.

When the body begins producing hormones, the tiny oil glands known as sebaceous glands at the root of the hair follicle become over-active. This excess oil combine with the normal shedding of dead skin cells cause the pores to become clogged. The oil and bacteria trapped within a pore is the beginning of a pimple. It usually takes about two weeks for a pimple to surface which is why you can often ‘feel’ them before you see them.

There are many myths and misconceptions associated with the development of acne in teens - junk food, poor hygiene and even masturbation! Absolutely none of these ideas are true.

You do not ’cause’ acne. Hormone development is a fact of life and there is nothing that you can do about it. However, you can do something about the resulting acne. A good, consistent, skin care program can make a world of difference!

Acne is not caused by lack of cleanliness and excessive washing can exasperate the problem. Gently wash twice a day using warm water, a soft facecloth and a mild, hypoallergenic soap. Never scrub! You may even wish to try one of several very good acne skin care programs on the market designed specifically to control acne.

Most acne in teens responds well to over-the-counter products containing benzoyl peroxide. This ingredient is available in a number of different lotions and creams. The percentage of available benzoyl peroxide varies among brands. Choose a product with the highest concentration possible - usually around ten percent. Always test a dab on an inconspicuous part of your body to see if there is any reaction. Use only what you need to ’spot treat’ the areas affected. Benzoyl peroxide can cause excessive drying of the skin if you use too much.

Although it is difficult, resist the urge to ‘pop’ pimples. This will only aggravate your acne by spreading the bacteria to other areas. It can also lead to permanent scarring.

It is better not to wear any makeup at all but if you do, choose cosmetics labeled ‘noncomedogenic’. They are specially formulated not to promote acne. Never go to bed without removing your makeup!

The Cell Phone Versus The Landline

Phones have become a necessary part of life. If we are without one we feel like we are missing something. Phones have come a long way from the place they were only a few decades ago. Now, just about every family owns a cell phone. In some cases, we no longer have landline phones but just cell phones. Families stay connected with cell phone packages. There is more advertising for cell phones than there is for just about anything else! But, is the cell phone a better choice over the landline? Here are several things that you should consider not only about this but also about choosing the right company to go with.

Landline phones are those that are grounded. We plug them into outlets in our homes and offices. Cell phones are mobile, and have the ability to make calls from almost any area. Traditionally, landlines were the only type of phone used in the home. Now, more people are switching over to only have cell phones. But, is this a good thing? Cell phones are often more expensive. Mobility is expensive. But, landlines lock you down and do not give you the freedom to call from anywhere. Sure, cordless phones give some freedom, but you still have an approximate area you need to stay in. Cells have the ability to do virtually all that landlines do from making calls to three way calling to call waiting. They also have additional features. Things like email and internet access are among the hottest new features. Getting a text message is one of the largest draws right now. Landlines can’t compete with these features. But, one good quality about landlines is that they are there in an emergency. Your cell needs to be charged while a landline phone is able to make calls as long as the phone company hasn’t gone out.

We really didn’t help you make a decision, did we? Perhaps the only real factor in this battle is to have the prices broken down. First, let’s talk about getting a good deal on a cell phone though. Before purchasing one, make sure you have the best rate plan. You will need to break this into an apple to apple comparison. For example, either look at the flat rate plans or the minute to minute breakdown. Also, look at the weekend charges, roaming charging, and long distance charges as well. Then, you can make an informed decision.

In order to decide on the landline versus cell phone, you will need to compare your need for features and convenience with that of having a lower price. The landline will be cheaper but can not keep up with the latest and great technology. What matters to you is which option in phones you will need to choose from.

Addressing The Cause And Finding A Cure: Why Cause is Everyt

There is an epidemic, at least in the States when it comes to treating back pain. Most doctors do just that… treat back pain rather than finding and eliminating the cause.

You can treat your symptoms for an eternity, and you may feel better for a short period of time. To truly get at the heart of the matter though, you have to find and eliminate the cause of low back pain.

I*ll let you in on a little secret. Most chronic low back pain can be resolved in six weeks or less. It*s true!

A majority of chronic low back pain is caused by simple factors including:

  • Poor Posture
  • Injury
  • Muscle Imbalances
  • Improper Lifting
  • Extra Weight

Let*s take a look at each of these more closely.

Poor Posture

Posture is everything when it comes to back pain. Good posture results in stability and strength. Bad posture results in back pain. Many people can alleviate chronic back pain simply by taking the time to improve their posture. You probably can too!

Injury

We are all subject to injury at one time or another. You can work toward preventing injury in certain circumstances however. A lot of the injuries that result in low back pain are caused by improper lifting techniques. You may be lifting a heavy box, or you may be lifting a heavy weight without warming up adequately. Either way, if you injure yourself you are subject to back pain. What can you do to improve your chances for recovery? One of the best things you can do is exercise. You should incorporate stretching activities into your daily regimen. By doing so you will condition your back and are les likely to get injured, and more likely to recover faster when you do get injured.

Muscle Imbalances

Muscle Imbalances occur when two muscles that oppose each other are unequally matched. If you exercise your back regularly for example, but never exercise your stomach, you body will be in a state of imbalance. No matter how strong your back is in this situation, you are going to be subject to back pain. Eliminate the muscle imbalances through rehabilitation and proper exercise and you stand a good chance of eliminating back pain.

Improper Lifting

OK, go back and re-read the section on injury. You need to lift correctly in order to avoid injury. NEVER bend from the waist when picking something up off of the floor, even if it is a feather. Always bend from the knees, and use your leg and abdominal muscles to support you when lifting an object. Many improper lifting injuries actually occur in the gym. This happens when a person attempts to lift a weight that is too heavy or fails to warm up properly. You can avoid these injuries by paying close attention to technique at all times.

Extra Weight

Carrying around a few extra pounds may not seem like a big deal, but when it comes to back pain it could mean the difference between no back pain and chronic back pain. Even if you are carrying around just ten extra pounds, your body will have to shift and redistribute itself to accommodate the extra weight. Consider losing the extra weight, and you may realize your back pain soon follows.

Help Prevent A Heart Attack: Get Moving!

Filed under:Hall Of Medical Resources — posted on @ 10:53 am

Preventing a heart attack should be one of the things that concerns you most. After all, heart disease and heart attacks are some of the leading causes of death among people these days. And while it is obviously not possible to completely prevent having a heart attack, there are several important ways that you can help guard yourself against suffering a heart attack.

Tired of hearing advice about heart attack prevention? I guess people like me will continue to give advice about ways to prevent heart attacks until the numbers of people suffering the effects of heart attacks decreases significantly. If you have not taken seriously the warnings and advice you have heard, seen and read, then please read on to learn about simple ways of heart attack prevention for almost everyone.

Because the heart is a muscle it can be worked out and conditioned just like all of the other muscles in the body. Just like we can distinguish between people who are in good shape and people who are in poor shape, so we can distinguish between hearts that are in good shape or poor shape. One of the best ways to maintain the health of your heart and hence to prevent a heart attack is to get in shape. Exercise is so, so important in trying to prevent a heart attack from taking your life.

Taking the time for exercise and getting in shape should be high on your list of priorities. The three biggest excuses I hear from people about why they are not in better shape are that they are too tired, too busy, and that exercising costs too much money. When a possible heart attack is on the line, none of these three excuses seem valid enough to stop you from getting your body in good shape.

Being too tired to exercise is ironic in that exercise is one of the best ways to gain energy and to help people sleep well at night. Therefore, the best way to have the energy to exercise is simply to start exercising. Don’t immediately jump up from the couch and run a marathon, but look for small and quick ways to incorporate exercise into your day. Even a small amount of brisk walking will do wonders in helping you prevent a heart attack.

Making the claim that you do not have enough time in your day to exercise is simply a reflection of what you care most about. Look at your days and see what you are making time for. Eating out, sleeping in, watching television? If you desire to really get in shape and to help prevent a heart attack, then making fifteen or twenty minutes a day will become easy and very doable.

Getting in shape does not have to cost you a lot of money. In fact, almost everyone I know can get outside and go for a walk for free. No one says that preventing a heart attack requires you to have a membership at the most expensive and exclusive athletic club. Heart attack prevention can be as simple as throwing on a pair of old sneakers and getting out for a walk or a jog.

Your heart is worth it. Regardless of the sacrifices you have to make in order to get in shape, preventing a heart attack is one of the most loving things you can do for yourself and the ones you love.

FSBO vs Realtors

Filed under:Great Real Estate Tips — posted on @ 10:38 am

When you think of selling your home, you really have two options: list it “for sale by owner” or list it on the Multiple Listing Service with a professional real estate agent. What’s the difference? What are the pros and cons of each? Read on to find answers to these questions and more.

The Scoop on Realtors

A real estate agent, or Realtor (if they belong to the Realtor trade association), must go through some extensive training in order to lawfully help you sell your home. They must become licensed with your state and maintain a good standing in order to act on your behalf in a real estate transaction.

Some of the common duties real estate agents will perform for you or help you with are:

  • Set an asking price
  • Point out needed repairs and recommend upgrades
  • Screen buyers
  • Handle paperwork
  • Provide legally required disclosures
  • Advertise and market your property to the buying public
  • Negotiate with buyers

The traditional fee for real estate agents is 6% of the final selling price of the property. That’s $18,000 on a property worth $300,000. Discount real estate brokers have made a splash in the real estate world with the help of the internet. Sellers can commonly find discount brokers who charge 4% of the final sales price. That’s still a $12,000 fee for a $300,000 property.

The Scoop on FSBO (For Sale By Owner)

The reasons many home owners decide to list their home FSBO should be obvious at this point. There’s a lot of money to be saved if one can successfully sell their home on their own. Historically, 13-16% of real estate sold annually in America has been sold by the owner, without the help of a real estate agent. However, almost 9 out of 10 sellers who initially list their home by owner wind up hiring an agent. Why?

The varied reasons include:

  • Time. The FSBO didn’t get offers as fast as needed, and became convinced an agent could help them sell faster.
  • Money. The FSBO didn’t price the home right and therefore didn’t get any offers.
  • Knowledge. The FSBO didn’t know enough about the steps required to complete the sale.

There are other reasons, but those are the big three. Can they be addressed by the average home owner? Sure they can. Almost all knowledge is available to us on the internet these days, and armed with knowledge, more home owners can successfully sell their home on their own.

The Pros and Cons

Before deciding to list your home for sale, consider how much time you have to devote to the task yourself. If you are extremely busy already, you may want to hire an agent right off the bat. There is definitely a time requirement when it comes to selling by owner. You’ll need to handle advertising and marketing, take calls, show your home, entertain offers and make sure you comply with all the local laws to complete the sale.

There are people and resources available to help you like for sale by owner web sites, where you can advertise your home to a nationwide audience, and your local mortgage broker who can pre-qualify buyers that show interest in your home. Other local professionals like title companies and attorneys can help you with legal requirements.

The immediate benefit of hiring an agent is that all these duties become their responsibility, not yours. You can continue on with your life, avoiding many of the headaches that come with the sale of real estate. That is, until it comes time to actually move. But that’s another story. However, hiring an agent can be a double-edged sword. If you hire the wrong one you will probably rue the day for years to come. Most brokers require you to sign a listing contract for at least three months, though most want six months to a year. This means that they have the exclusive right to sell your property for that length of time, and you will have a hard time firing them if things don’t work out and you want to go with a different broker.

So do some homework before you hire an agent, if that’s the route you choose. Ask questions like:

  • How long have you been in the business?
  • How many properties did you sell last year?
  • How many properties have you sold thus far this year?
  • Can I call some of your past clients for reference?
  • Do you do this full-time?

The answers to these questions should give you a good idea of where a particular agent stands in relation to any other agent.

The Bottom Line

A comparison can be made between going FSBO versus hiring an agent, to selling your car in the newspaper versus trading-in. The former takes a little more time and effort than the latter, but it can save you a bundle.

The author of this article is a contributor to one of the leading for sale by owner websites on the web, where home owners can advertise their property without paying any fees if the web site doesn’t send any buyers.

Video Slideshow Production

Slideshow production companies are popping up all over the internet. People are taking their pictures, negatives, slides, and videos, and placing them on CD’s, DVD’s, or VHS for personal use and for gifts for all occasions. People everywhere are hiring professional slideshow production companies to make wedding slideshows for receptions, graduation slideshows, anniversary slideshows, birthday slideshows, memorial service slideshows, vacation slideshows, holiday slideshows, and just about anything you can think of slideshows. But how do you know which slideshow company to choose?

It use to be that when we took our photos of our special occasions: weddings, vacations, reunions, birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, family, friends, pets and so on, that we’d get the photos developed and place them in a photo album or a shoe box. A couple of our very favorites would be placed in frames. But, the photo album or shoebox would then sit on a shelf or under a bed or in a closet or somewhere where they’d be neglected and hardly ever looked at. In the meantime the photos themselves are drying out, cracking, and turning yellow. When we do go to look at them they’re never as good as we remember because they’ve aged.

Placing our photos on CD, DVD, or VHS preserves the photos forever. They will never crack, fade, yellow, or get damaged. Future generations can enjoy the same quality in a hundred years as we can today.

Turning your photos into slide shows, video albums, or photo montages makes the photos fun to watch. and more people will enjoy viewing them with you. So how do you know if you’ve found a quality slideshow company? An important rule of thumb to remember is, “If the price seems too good to be true, then it usually is”. No real slide show creating company can give you quality work without putting quality time into it. The less the price, the less the amount of time going into it. You might as well go buy yourself the cheapest slide show software you can find and do it yourself. A quality slideshow creating company has invested thousands of dollars to be able to produce the highest quality work for the consumer. And they will spend the time needed to clean up your photos and create a quality CD, DVD or VHS that you can be proud of. The more time a company puts into creating your slideshow, the higher the cost of that slide show. Of course a higher price doesn’t always mean better, there will always be those who overcharge. When comparing prices, don’t forget to compare the contents of the package. This will make a tremendous difference in the pricing and the quality of the slideshow you receive. But don’t fall for bogus charges such as transition charges. What are slideshows without transitions? So shop around, compare prices, packages, and view some slide show samples.

Viewing samples is very important to choosing your company. If you’re satisfied with just the simple fade-in, fade-out photomontage style slideshows, then you have a lot to choose from. If you want something fun, exciting, emotional, creative and unique, then there’s very little to choose from. Your memories are precious and your slide shows should reflect each occasion in a unique and creative way. To a true slide show creator, such as Sandra Clukey with Sands of Time Multimedia Creations, creating quality slideshows is comparative to an artist who is creating yet another masterpiece: each one is unique, creative, evokes emotion, no two are exactly alike, and all are worthy of displaying to everyone you know.

Are you lonely in this crowd ?

This world is a crowd. We all live in a crowd. Our family, our
friends, our business associates, our co workers, and our
community. All these form a crowd for us not in the dictionary
sense, but let us say that we are always getting connected with
someone, somewhere and are not living on an island alone. Even
then, many of us feel lonely. Are you one of them?

Being lonely means - I am not able to share my deepest thoughts
with anyone. I have issues at home. I have issues at my office.
I have issues with my relatives. I have issues with my friends.
I am carrying so much of hurt and guilt inside me. I want to do
many things, and at times, I need help. I don’t know ,who to
ask? I feel lonely. I feel all alone. I feel that no one
understands me. Despite all my trials, I fail to share and
convey my feelings. If I talk about my office issues with my
wife/husband or my girl/boyfriend, I am not able to get any good
advise. They all have their suggestions and analysis of my
situation, but that differs greatly from what I believe to be
true. Therefore, I shut up after talking for awhile with them.

I have friends with whom I try to talk about my problems. But
they want to tell me theirs first. What is taken quite seriously
by me, is considered ordinary by others. What do I do? Shall I
consult a psychiatrist? How will that help? My character, and my
thinking. Is something wrong with them? Who will tell me? Who
will guide? I feel very disturbed at all the times. I want peace
in my mind. I go out to walk alone, but my thoughts don’t leave
me anywhere. This agitation of my mind is becoming intolerable.
I feel lonely. I want to talk with someone who will understand
my point of view and tell me what to do?

Are you one of such people? Do you feel lonely? Do you also feel
that you have no one to share your deepest thoughts? Have you
started feeling that everyone is selfish? No one has got time
for you? No one wants to understand you? No one cares for you?

What can you do in such a situation? You may be feeling
helpless, but something ought to be done. The first step in such
agitation should be to avoid thinking for sometime during a day.
Involve yourself in some such activity that takes your mind away
from itself. Any activity that will engross you completely. A
good movie, a good novel, some magazines, a show, any activity
that takes the mind away will give some peace. The next step
would be to find out if anyone you know, is also facing such a
state? How does one do that? For this you will have to shift
your attention from yourself to others. Begin listening to
others. Ask them about their problems and listen. You may
probably find that there are few others who are also in the same
boat. Even if you are not religious, try to talk to god. Tell
him about what all goes on in your life and your mind. Ask him
to help you.

One who feels lonely in the crowd of people, must first raise
his/her self esteem. You must say - OK. Other than god, no one
will understand what I am facing. That is OK. I will set some
exciting goals for myself. I will try to achieve them. For me,
my life is very important. I will live my life in such a way
that I feel proud of it. I am a good person and I know that. I
don’t honestly care if others are not understanding me. I will
try to understand their problems and help them. Rather than
asking for help, let me start giving.

King Tut’s Tomb was No Better - Found in America

Between 603 and 702 AD. a truly marvelous temple was built by the Mayan people to honour a non-Mayan, non-Indian man. The firsthand account of Alberto Ruz from ‘Eyewitness to Discovery’ follows in part, as it was printed in ‘Illustrated London News’:

Four spells of work–each two and a half months long–were required before we were able to clear the filling from this mysterious staircase. {It has an important serpent figure on the walls all the way down.} After a flight of forty-five steps, we reached a landing with a U-turn. There followed another flight, of twenty-one steps, leading to a corridor, whose level is more or less the same as that on which the pyramid was built–i.e., some 22 metres under the temple flooring. In the vaulting of the landing two narrow galleries open out and allow air and a little light to enter from a near-by courtyard.

Above one of the first steps we reached we found a box-shaped construction of masonry containing a modest offering: two ear-plugs of jade placed on a river stone painted red {The colour of ochre and cinnabar that we have seen denotes spiritual things in the beginning of processes that adepthoods of the world are seen involved with.} On reaching the end of the flight of stairs we found another box of offerings, backing on to a wall which blocked the passage. This time it was a richer offering: three pottery dishes, two shells full of cinnabar, seven jade beads, a pair of circular ear-plugs also of jade, the plugs of which were shaped like a flower, and a beautiful tear-shaped pearl, with its ‘lustre’ pretty well preserved. An offering of this kind, at such a depth, told us without any doubt that we were approaching the object of our search.

And, in fact, on July 13, 1952, after demolishing a solid obstruction some metres thick, made of stone and lime–this was very hard and the wet lime burnt the hands of the workmen–there appeared on one side of the corridor a triangular slab, 2 metres high, set vertically to block an entrance. At the foot of this slab, in a rudimentary stone cut, there lay, mixed together, the largely destroyed skeletons of six young persons, of whom one at least was a female.

At noon on the 15th of the same month we opened the entrance, displacing the stone enough for a man to pass through sideways. It was a moment of indescribable emotion for me when I slipped behind the stone and found myself in an enormous crypt which seemed to have been cut out of the rock–or rather, out of the ice, thanks to the curtain of stalactites and the chalcite veiling deposited on the walls by the infiltration of rain-water during the centuries. This increased the marvellous quality of the spectacle and gave it a fairy-tale aspect. Great figures of priests modelled in stucco a little larger than life-size perhaps just ‘giants’. formed an impressive procession round the walls. The high vaulting was reinforced by great stone transoms, of dark colour with yellowish veins, giving an impression of polished wood.

Almost the whole crypt was occupied by a colossal monument, which we then supposed to be a ceremonial altar, composed of a stone of more than 8 square metres, resting on an enormous monolith of 6 cubic metres, supported in its turn by six great blocks of chiselled stone. All these elements carried beautiful reliefs.

Finest of all for its unsurpassable execution and perfect state of preservation was the great stone covering the whole and bearing on its four sides some hieroglyphic inscriptions with thirteen abbreviated dates corresponding to the beginning of the seventh century A.D., while its upper face shows a symbolic scene surrounded by astronomical signs.

I believed that I had found a ceremonial crypt, but I did not wish to make any definite assertions before I had finished exploring the chamber and, above all, before I had found out whether the base of the supposed altar was solid or not. On account of the rains and the exhausting of the funds available for this phase of the exploration, we had to wait until November before returning to Palenque… I then had the base bored horizontally at two of the corners, and it was not long before one of the drills reached a hollow space. I introduced a wire through the narrow aperture and, on withdrawing it, I saw that that some particles of red paint were adhering to it… This colour was associated in the Mayan and Aztec cosmogony with the East…

{This is true of the gateway arch at Tiahuanaco where they talk of the red lands to the east that went under the water. It likely relates to what is now found off the coast of Cuba at the 2200 foot depth.}

Once the stone left its seating and began to rise it could be seen that a cavity had been cut out of the enormous block which served it as a base. This cavity was of an unexpected shape, oblong and curvilinear, rather like the silhouette in schematised form of a fish or of the capital letter omega {Which we have seen regarding Teilhardism. Could this have been a man like Count Vlad of the Christian Dragon crusaders? Could it be the forerunner of the Jesuit/Illuminati knowledge including Teilhard?}, closed in its lower part. {My Stele details how at Chichen Itza I was able to see the Greek alphabet and what I believe was the Cara-Maya alphabet as well as mathematical, astrological and other symbols. I was threatened with being thrown in a Mexican jail and coerced to sign away my legal protection as a U.S. resident and Canadian citizen. This stele is not on the tour and was painted over the second time I was there. It was painted over more than once and difficult to photograph. The work of Churchward says the Greek alphabet [this was an early alphabet] tells the story of the destruction of Mu. The Mayan people know that is their origin. But the Greek and Mu tie-in may have something to do with Troy III which was named Aa-Mu. This kind of information would be sensitive to a lot of people. The Mexicans were negotiating [roadblocks and army goons with guns all over] with the Mayans in Chiapas at the time.} The cavity was sealed by a highly polished slab fitting exactly and provided with four perforations, each with a stone plug. On raising the slab which closed it we discovered the mortuary receptacle…

In the vermillion-coloured walls and base of the cavity which served as a coffin, the sight of the human remains–complete, although the bones were damaged–covered with jade jewels for the most part, was most impressive. It was possible to judge the form of the body which had been laid in this ‘tailored’ sarcophagus; and the jewels added a certain amount of life {There were probably metal knives and a staff which came from something other than the meteorites the Mayans made knives from. The Mayans weren’t encouraged by the Mexicans to take pride in their heritage. There was a time when they were even saying there were no Mayans left, as they tried to make it become the truth}, both from the sparkle of the jade and because they were so well ‘placed’ and because their form suggested the volume and contour of the flesh which originally covered the skeleton. It was easy also to imagine the high rank of the personage who could aspire to a mausoleum of such impressive richness.

We were struck by his stature, greater than that of the average Mayan of today; and by the fact that his teeth were not filed or provided with incrustations of pyrites or jade, since that practice (like that of artificially deforming the cranium) was usual in individuals of higher social ranks. The state of destruction of the skull did not allow us to establish precisely whether or not it had been deformed. In the end, we decided that the personage might have been of non-Mayan origin {N.B.}, though it is clear that he ended in being one of the kings of Palenque. The reliefs, which we have still to uncover on the sides of the sarcophagus and which are now hidden under lateral buttresses, may tell us before long something of the personality and identity of the glorious dead.

Even if he had not been buried in the most extraordinary tomb so far discovered in this continent of America, it would still be perfectly possible to assess the importance of this personage from the jewels which he wore–many of them already familiar in Mayan bas-reliefs {Therefore some not?} As shown in some reliefs, he was wearing a diadem made from tiny disks of jade and his hair was divided into separate strands by means of small jade tubes of appropriate shape; and we discovered a small jade plate of extraordinary quality cut in the shape of the head of Zotz, the vampire god of the underworld, and this may have been a final part of the diadem {Elsewhere reported as part of a necklace, by others.}. Around the neck were visible various threads of a collar composed of jade beads in many forms–spheres, cylinders, tri-lobed beads, floral buds, open flowers, pumpkins, melons, and a snake’s head (Chanes and Dragons}. The ear-plugs were composed of various elements, which together made up a curious flower.

The amount of jade and the meaning of each thing on the necklace or the crouched man on the ring of jade are all packed with meaning. You could say that each of the insignia represented a spirit that one of the tribes honoured or worked with, you could imagine they are like Boy Scout badges, and you could say they are just decoration. The jade and green vitreole is an interesting connection that might make me think of geopolymerization, but I doubt it was tested for that possibility. The crouched man is a position of many honored Kelts when buried.

The ear plugs of special flower design reminds me of the lotus chakra and the place where the ‘Third Eye’ rests inside the brain. Perhaps the energy of the crystals and stone were created to accentuate certain energy or direct it into specific forms. Maybe I am just guessing too much; but symbols always mean something. At his feet were jade beads so large as to be hollowed and they had a flower plug. Kukulcan/Quetzacoatl directed the natives to sacrifice flowers rather than people in the centuries that followed. It would surprise me if this person was not one of the heritage of those mythic heroes who came and went throughout the Americas. I think they acted like Ovates of the Druidic or Bardic Tradition from the writings I’ve seen.

It is entirely likely that they and their families were to become the Toltecs. They were most sought after as mates among the various people. Ruz draws a lot of inferential connections to the Egyptian symbology and practices. I agree with some but also repeat imitations of pyramids that house tombs in America does not make Giza Pyramids into funerary tombs. Here also is a ‘Tree of Life’ and a Cross that is part of many belief systems throughout the world. It amazes me to hear the scholars say things like there is no cultural impact from other continents on the Americas when I read things like this; perhaps I use too much intuition or common sense and would have learned the error of my ways if I had become an archaeologist.

“The presence here, in a sepulchre slab, of motives which are repeated in other representations gives perhaps the key to interpret the famous panels of the Cross and the foliated Cross (in Palenque) and also some of the paintings in the codices. On the stone in question we see a man surrounded by astronomical signs symbolizing heaven–the spatial limit of man’s earth… But above the man rises the well-known cruciform motif, which in some representations is a tree, in others the stylised maize {Like in Rosslyn Castle of the Templar Stewarts.} plant, but it is always the symbol of life resurgent from the earth, life triumphing over death.” (2)

‘Astronomical’ should be astrological, in my mind. The Mayan (and Peruvian) ability to prophesize is legendary. They correctly knew the many key disasters of their history well in advance. The planet Venus plays a key role in their calendrical sky watching. There are many ways to report on these things, but I ask again; why not include other theories and related facts. When he wrote this he might have known about the Hopewell/Adena mound builders that many archaeologists see a relationship with. The serpent that rises up the stairs at a specific day each year through the shadows of a construction and placement so exact, might be of interest. The placement of all Mayan temples on a center point theory tied in to the earth energy grid could have been connected to the crystal ear plug receivers.

There, I go again! Just a lot of ‘possibilities’, but where are the facts? It was good that he drew connections to Egypt and omega could have a great deal of meaning as we said to make a connection with Greece. In Chichen Itza at the Villas Archaeologique I saw many Greek or Etruscan statues dated to the appropriate era. The more recent sculpted faces were totally Mayan/Aztec with the tongue and grotesque exaggerated features. It is hard to imagine that he would not have been there. It is the place where all the archaeologists stayed while uncovering the Mayan culture at the end of the 19th century. The editor of the book could have made notations about the breaking of the Mayan code that shows it has a phonetic as well as pictographic language, which wasn’t known to Ruz.

Boss Mustang: Then and Now

The Mustang has been loved by car enthusiasts since it was first
introduced back in the Swinging Sixties. In fact, the Mustang
had one of the most successful auto launches in history! People
were enthralled with a car that had sleek sports car looks and a
smooth, powerful engine. The Mustang was the best of both
worlds… the ultimate status symbol and the most powerful car
of its time.

Boss Mustangs were infused with a powerful engine, a sturdy
design and stylish good looks. Each series in the Boss line was
slightly different in design and engine, but all were excellent
performers.

The first of the Boss series, the 302, came out in 1969. It had
a 302 (surprise!) engine that was documented 290 hp. Owners of
this vehicle would later dispute this by saying the horsepower
was closer to 350. This vehicle came standard with exterior
stripes and front spoilers. The rest was optional and could be
added for extra fees.

The Boss 429 was available in 1969 and 1970 only. This means
that Boss fans had only two years to purchase this automobile
new. Because of this, there is a lot of interest in finding a
mint Boss 429 or at least, finding one that can be renovated to
look like it did originally. As a standard Mustang SportsRoof,
this car came without the usual extravagant paint job or decals.
Instead, the focus was on its amazingly powerful 429 V8 engine
and Magnum 500 wheels. The Boss 429 did not have an automatic
transmission or air conditioning, but it did have a 375 horse
power engine! The air conditioning must have been left out
simply because there was no more room under the hood with such a
gigantic engine taking up all the space!

The Boss 351 enjoyed many acclaims in its day as well. It was
produced only in 1971 and had a 330 hp four-bolt Cleveland block
and crank shaft. This Boss had a large hood scoop and amazing
performance. Because of its rarity, the 351 is probably the most
popular of the Boss series amongst collectors.

Back in the day, a Boss Mustang would have set you back only a
few thousand dollars. Today, depending upon their condition,
these cars can be sold for over three hundred thousand dollars.
This is due to the fact that these cars are not only still
beloved, they’re a hobby.

Some people drive their Boss Mustangs, while others only have
them for show. Those that don’t purchase their Boss in mint
condition will quickly let restoring it become their favorite
pastime.

There are many reproductions of the Boss series out there and
it’s takes a person with an extensive knowledge of the Ford
Mustang to be able to tell the real from the fake. Keep an eye
out for the original parts, decals and always know the VIN and
chassis number. Each car was documented by these numbers and
with a little research, you can find out for yourself if the car
you want to buy is truly a Boss Mustang or not. Be aware that
creating a fake Boss is very much an art. The people that do it
aren’t amateurs and have been known to fool even those
considered to be experts. So, before you hand over the cash,
beef up on Boss so you can rest assured that you’ve just
purchased the real deal.
