Free Spyware Removal - It’s Not As Easy As It Sounds

Nobody wants to pay to remove spyware. At the very least, I don’t. The blasted stuff shouldn’t be on my computer anyway, so what ever would make me want to shell out cash to get rid of something that I shouldn’t have in the first place?

Spyware removal tools come in many different forms, and from many different places. Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware is from Sweden, and Spybot: Search and Destroy is from Germany, I think. (Their error messages come up in German, so I have to assume..)

Purchasing adware removal software can even be dangerous, so to speak. If you’re buying it from a pop-up then more than likely you’re just lining the pockets of the person that infected your machine in the first place. I’ve had many infested machines have icons for spyware removers magically appear on the desktop. Of course, if you want to actually clean anything, you have to shell out some dough.

If you’re going to go it alone, for free, then there are a few tools you’ll need. The first is Ad-Aware, as mentioned above. Spybot: S&D is a second excellent choice. The third, and much more advanced (and therefore difficult to use) spyware remover is HijackThis. Almost all scanners will miss various adware items, simply because there is so much produced nowadays so quickly. It’s impossible to keep up.

Once you have the aforementioned software downloaded, installed, and updated then you’re going to want to boot to safe mode. Why not scan now immediately? Cause the adware is still running. You can’t delete a file that’s in use. That said, safe mode is less effective than it used to be, but it still may work.

To get to safe mode: Reboot the machine, press F8 repeatedly once it restarts until a menu comes up that has “safe mode” listed. Select it, and press enter. Windows will load nothing but the essentials.

As soon as safe mode is loaded then go ahead and do a full system scan with Ad-Aware and Spybot or whatever you happen to have. Following that, reboot and see how your computer runs. If it still has issues, then HijackThis will be neccesary. In order to use this tool, you’ll need to have a pretty good grasp on what should and shouldn’t be loading in startup, as well as a grasp of what Browser Help Objects you need. (Technically, none, but some software you have installed may use them)

You can get HijackThis help, but if it eludes you then you really should have an experienced user have at it.

Who is a Successful Scientist?

Filed under:World Of Technology — posted on @ 8:36 pm

Being little children we have dreams about whom are we going to be in their future. Though your dream was to fly into outer space, you chose to keep your feet on the ground and let your mind wonder and research. Being attentive, hard-working, intelligent and efficient you have every right to call yourself a scholar, but first of all you are to prove it to the others.

A scholar is a scientist researching the field of his interest and contributing to it. A scholar is doing a vital job: getting to the essence of things and makes an explanation, an outline, readable and understandable for the colleagues and interested individuals. Excellently written dissertation thesis is not enough to call oneself a bright scholar, for your research may be covered with dust and buried under a pile of similar works. You have to be genuinely interested in what you are doing and get some of your writing into your head for further research. If you want your masters thesis to be read and forgotten you may formulate your thesis statement in a “keep it simple” kind of way. You won’t have to worry about your thesis drawing attention. But if you are concerned to show a completely new approach, or state a new point of view or you got luck and made an important discovery, your work can be published by mass media and bring you success. Top priority for every scholar is to help humans live in comfort, keep them informed and provide them with everything necessary for fair development and success. You are to create authority to communicate with other scholars on friendly terms and assist each other in doing research.

A scholar is never tired to investigate and try, experiment and risk. It can take years to come to a conclusion or a discovery, which, by the way, may turn out to be false eventually. A true scholar never gives up trying to find out the truth. Motivators are fame, recognition and a fortune if your discovery brings stable income. That is practically all, what ambitious people need in their lives. There is nothing more awarding than respect in your family, acclaim among colleagues, financial freedom and a bookshelf full of your editions that will make you famous forever.

Do I really need that Waterproof Digital Camera?

Who can deny the usefulness of cameras? As we all know, cameras are meant to capture our most precious memories on film. Some of those moments, however, happen to take place in less than ideal environments. Hence the camera of choice is required to be more sturdy and versatile then your average or standard camera. As you undoubtedly know, digital cameras have now all but replaced the conventional film cameras we’ve all grown up with. Since digital cameras rely on sophisticated computer boards and microprocessors that are more prone to damage by the elements such as water, the demand for waterproof digital cameras is very strong indeed.

Many occasions such as weddings, parties, and nightclubs where we want to take pictures are full of events that may endanger your precious camera. Among the more common dangers include spilled drinks, watery foods, swimming pools, toilet bowls, and sinks. These are events where a waterproof camera would be an ideal choice.

Fortunately, most if not all the manufacturers offer a waterproof version of thier most popular cameras for sale. In the event that one is not available, all is not lost. There are many protective cases and coverings, some even custom made for your camera, that you could use to protect your camera.

Of course there is the issue of the cost being higher for a waterproof camera, however, when you compare the small difference in cost, it is really not that large considering the benefits you will receive.

Given the choice between a standard digital camera and it’s waterproof counterpart, and assuming all other features are similar, it would seem that the waterproof camera would be a wiser choice. This would insure that your investment is secure and your camera will carry with it, the added peace of mind of knowing that you need not worry about the inevitable perils of water damage.

As always, be sure to check out the many resources available online to assist you in making the right buying decision.

Shih Tzu - Birth Process/Normal Deliveries

A shih tzu mother’s instinct to nurture begins with her first
shih tzu puppy delivery. Praise your shih tzu mother through
labor and delivery. Try not to express disgust, fear or
overexcitement. A breeder’s expressions and emotions can have a
deleterious effect on the shih tzu mother’s attitude. If you
fail to offer your shih tzu mother adequate emotional support,
she could, in the rarer cases, refuse care of her litter.

The first thing seen in a normal birth is a partial emergence of
a grayish blue (slimy-looking) sac from the shih tzu’s vulva.
However, I have seen many normal shih tzu deliveries in which
this sac does not appear. If the sac is present, do not be
alarmed, and do not try to burst the sac. This sac contains the
first shih tzu puppy. Usually the shih tzu is able to deliver
the sac containing the shih tzu puppy onto the whelping box
floor by her second contracture or third strong contraction.
Remain calm. Your attitude right now can prove crucial to the
shih tzu mother’s acceptance and care of her offspring. Usually,
but not always the shih tzu will deliver the placenta
(afterbirth) directly after each shih tzu puppy. Some shih tzu
will turn to eat the placenta first, then go on to eat the sac,
tearing it from around the shih tzu puppy’s face and body. As
the shih tzu ingest all evidence of a fresh birth, she will
shake the new whelp still attached to the placenta by its
umbilical cord.

Three events are taking place. First, instinct demands that all
strongly-scented bloody evidence of a fresh birth be destroyed.
In the wild, a fresh birth would attract predators to a whelping
den’s site. Instinct prepares the shih tzu mother to quickly get
rid of all evidence of the fresh birth. Second, the placenta
contains precise nutrients vital to the shih tzu mother that
help to nourish her during a time when her strength is less than
optimal. Included in these nutrients are those assisting the
whelping shih tzu to maintain strong contractures. Some breeders
will contend the shih tzu should not eat the placenta or at
least not all of them. I believe in allowing instinct to rule
and I allow my shih tzu mothers to eat all the evidence of a
fresh birth. If timing is right, I may remove one placenta.
Thirdly, during these moments a shih tzu mother ingests the sac
and afterbirth, she stimulates the shih tzu puppy to an
independent life, toward breathing on its own. When the entire
process is left to the shih tzu mother and assuming the shih tzu
mother is abiding by her natural instinct, I have seen the
puppies seem to become lively and thrive much better than if I
have to help in the process. Not all shih tzu mothers do what
they are suppose to do, and in these cases, a breeder must act
quickly to save the newly whelped shih tzu puppy.

If the shih tzu mother is tending to the placenta first, you
must act quickly and manually tear the sac from the shih tzu
puppy’s head. Do not remove the shih tzu puppy from its
proximity to the shih tzu mother. Once the sac is torn
especially away from the shih tzu puppy’s face, carefully pick
the shih tzu puppy up, holding it a few inches off the whelping
box floor to make it easier for the shih tzu mother to crush and
sever the cord. This action provides a clotting of blood coming
from the cord and ties off the cord naturally. Allow the shih
tzu mother to grind and gnaw the umbilical cord. The
grinding-crunching sound heard is that of the shih tzu mother
severing the cord from the placenta. If the shih tzu mother
refuses to sever the cord within a few minutes of birthing a
shih tzu puppy, clamp the cord with sterilized hemostats
approximately two inches from the shih tzu puppy’s abdomen, and
cut the cord with sterilized surgical scissors. Dot blood
clotting powder on the cord to stop the bleeding (this is the
same powder that is used to stop bleeding when clipping
toenails). In some cases, you might need to apply some Neosporin
Ointment to prevent infection around the umbilical cord.

Bodybuilding Workouts for Maximum Muscle Gain

Exercise machines are a lot like the training side wheels on your first bike. While you’re learning, they serve an invaluable purpose. They provide support, and prevent injury. But once you’ve learnt the right posture and balance, the same wheels can be a drag.

Unlike training wheels, however, it’s tough to know when you’ve outgrown an exercise machine. And that can really hamper your progress down the line!

Weight training involves the use of equipment that enables variable resistance. This resistance can come in the form of ‘free weights’ like barbells and dumbbells, machines that use cables or pulleys to help you lift the weight and bodyweight exercises like pull-ups or dips.

For maximum muscle gain, the focus of your workouts should consist of free weight exercises. Not machines or bodyweight exercises.

To get an effective, muscle-blasting workout, you must stimulate the most muscle fibers as possible, and machines do not do this. The main reason for this is a lack of stabilizer and synergist muscle development. Stabilizer and synergist muscles are supporting muscles that assist the main muscle in performing a complex lift.

The more stabilizers and synergists worked, the more muscle fibers stimulated. Multi-jointed free weight exercises like the bench press, require many stabilizer and synergistic muscle assistance to complete the lift.

On the other hand doing a bench press using a machine will need almost no stabilizer assistance. Since machines are locked into a specific range of motion and help to support the weight along that path, they fail to stimulate the muscles that surround the area you are working (stabilizers). This is a mistake. If your stabilizer muscles are weak, then the major muscle group will never grow!

Free weight exercises like the dumbbell press or squat, for example, put a very large amount of stress on supporting muscle groups. That’s why you will get fatigued faster and not be able to lift as much weight as you did on the machine. But you will gain more muscle, become stronger very quickly and have a true gauge of your strength.

If you use machines in your program, they should be used to work isolated areas and only after all multi-jointed exercises have been completed. Beginners should begin with a limited combination of machine exercises, bodyweight exercises and mult-jointed free weight exercises. Before increasing the weight levels, they should work on becoming familiar with the proper form and execution of each. Soon, bodyweight exercises will become insufficient to stimulate growth and they will need to focus on more free weight exercises.

Go Ask Alice

One of fiction’s finest marketing minds, The Cheshire Cat,
once told Alice in Wonderland something all business owners
and marketers should remember:

“If you don’t care where you are going, it doesn’t make a
difference which path you take.”

For businesses bent upon success, it does matter which path
you take. A positioning statement helps you chart your path
to success because it lets all your audiences - internal and
external - know where your organization stands in the battle
for your consumers’ minds.

Positioning: What Is It?

You should not confuse a positioning statement with your
market position. As Harry Beckwith states in his book
Selling the Invisible, “A position is a cold-hearted,
no-nonsense statement of how you are perceived in the minds
of your prospects. A positioning statement, by contrast
expresses how you wish to be perceived. It is the core
message you want to deliver in every medium.”

Your positioning statement will be found where three items
intersect:

- your business acumen/aspirations
- your market
- what truly differentiates you

Of the three, it is your market which holds the key to your
positioning. That doesn’t mean that your acumen and
aspirations are irrelevant. You must have a clear
understanding and shared agreement on these at the
management level in order to develop an effective
positioning statement.

My approach to developing an effective positioning
statement and an actionable marketing plan begins with
gaining this understanding. Here’s how we go about it, and
you can too:

- interviews with management and employees to learn job
responsibilities, current marketing practices, as well as to
surface questions for customer interviews

- a review of appropriate primary and secondary research

- a series of one-on-one customer interviews

Customer interviews allow us to probe for information such
as:

- how customers perceive your “product” and other products in
the category. what the customer wants from the product
category he is not now receiving. what is the primary
customer benefit of your product

- how your customers currently position your brand. how
customers perceive your competitors

- what media habits, lifestyles do customers share. what
industries do they work in, what are their titles, what
associations do they belong to

- how do customers want to be communicated with

Once all the information is in, you may develop a
positioning statement that clearly says who you are, defines
your audiences, indicates what markets you are targeting,
and states what makes you different from your competitors.

Once this is done, everyone knows where they are going and
then it’s easy to find the right path.

Crewed Motor Yachts – Sail The Seven Seas Without Stress

Crewed motor yachts are yachts that you charter for a vacation without needing to have any sailing experience. With the crewed charters, you don’t have to do any work in handling the yacht or navigating the waters of the location you choose. You can choose to have a luxury charter where you have exquisite surroundings and meals prepared by a chef. Waiters bring you drinks and the members of the crew will provide instructions for water sports if you need any. Crewed motor yachts range in size from yachts that can only take 2 passengers to ones that can take up to 12 or more.

A crewed motor yacht charter is an excellent choice for a family vacation. Children are welcome on these yacht charters, but none of the crew will be assigned to looking after them, even with luxury motor yacht charter. Parents are expected to keep the children entertained and to bring whatever they need for enjoyment aboard with them. Crewed motor yachts are perfectly safe for children, but like any location, you do need to keep them within your sight at all times.

When you choose a luxury motor yacht charter, you have a personal chef to prepare your meals. However, before you arrive to meet the yacht, you will already have informed the company about your food preferences through the food preference sheet. This sheet also includes a list of beverages for you to choose from, which include soda, wines and alcoholic beverages. The chefs of crewed motor yachts take great care to prepare meals that you will enjoy and only use the freshest ingredients. In the case of fruits and vegetables, the chef of a crewed motor yacht charter may buy foods at the various locations.

Whether or not you experience any seasickness on crewed yacht charters depends on you. It is probably a good idea to take some form of seasickness medication with you so that you can thoroughly enjoy being on a luxury motor yacht. If you are new to vacationing on a crewed motor yacht charter, be sure to let the crew know so they can choose routes that will cause you less discomfort. If you smoke, you will have to limit your habit to the outside areas of the yacht. Since the interior of the yacht consists of close quarters, yacht charter companies do not permit smoking inside.

With crewed motor yachts you have comfort and style. You do not have to bring anything with you and all the linens, dishes and utensils are there for you to use. Both the exterior and interior of these yachts are roomy so you can sit back and enjoy the charter in comfort. You don’t have to worry about the wind because the motor will take you to your destination on time. You can enjoy air-conditioning with luxury motor yacht charters, although most of the charter yachts do have this feature included. Depending on the location and type of charter, some crewed charter yachts include scuba diving equipment, kayaks and other equipment you would need to enjoy a variety of water sports.

What kind of worker are you?

Work is a process of growth and a source of happiness.
What kind of worker are you?

Part 1 of 6 parts

Work Versus Slavery

Do you enjoy your work? Are you effective? Are you able to attune yourself to your work environment? Are you able to put your creative self into what you do or do you feel like a slave, who is selling his or her soul for money?

WE CANNOT AVOID WORK

Work is the basic activity of our incarnated lives on this planet Earth. We cannot avoid activity. It is our nature. Even if we are independently wealthy and do not need to earn money, or have retired after many years of hard labor, our physical nature does not allow us to remain idle. We feel the need to do something. Whatever we do, from building a home to drawing a design, from cooking a meal to solving a crossword puzzle, from running a business to taking care of children, from shopping for groceries to solving mathematical equations, from teaching to gardening, it can be done consciously, creatively and joyously or it can be done begrudgingly, mechanically and unhappily.

Any act can be performed as an expression of the creative divine potential within or it can be performed as a mechanical act that must be done because we need the money, because someone is obliging us to do it, or because we are bored and want to be occupied.

Our work can be an opportunity for growth, self-knowledge and emotional, mental and spiritual evolution, or it can be an unconscious repetition of automatic movements while our minds are focused elsewhere or nowhere at all. Work can be an offering of love or it can be something we do just in order to get it done, or because we fear being rejected if we do not do it. It can be also something we do in order to gain attention, affirmation and acceptance from the others. There is a great difference between doing something with love and doing it to gain love from others. Work can also be an opportunity to perfect our abilities or concentration and physical dexterity to create something that nears perfection. It can also be something we do as quickly as possible, giving no attention whatsoever to the quality of what we are doing.

A LOVE OFFERING OR SLAVERY

Work is the means through which the soul expresses its infinite divine potential here on the earth level.

Let us look at some of the traps that we fall into that prevent us from enjoying work to its highest potential. Some of us may fall into one “category” of worker, while others may fall into various categories. Also, the quality of our consciousness and work will depend on various external factors, such as the type of work we are doing, our coworkers, our own mood and our level of energy. Let us look at some of the types of workers and ways of working.

Car Auctions 101

Car auctions are a good place to get good a bargain on cars. But buying cars from auctions can be very complicated. This is particularly true for the uninitiated. Of course the cars in auctions are generally cheaper. But they are cheap because they lack the guarantees that come with cars bought from dealers. The rules in auctions are simple, you bid an item, you pay for it, and you own it.

It is therefore not advisable for persons without much experience in motor vehicles to just go to an auction and buy a car.

What you’ll need if you’re planning to buy a car in an auction is a good eye, good observation skills and a willingness to learn the car auction process.

You can even make it a business by buying cars at auction and then selling them at a profit. There are several people who have made huge profits by buying and selling cars at auction.

There are basically two kinds of car auctions, local car auctions and online car auctions. Each of the auctions works differently. Each has a different set of rules so you must study them very carefully if you are planning to buy a car from either kind of auction.

If you want to buy a vehicle in a car auction you must first pre-register with the local auction you want to join. The pre-registration process won’t take much of your time and will provide you all the essential information that you will need in order to buy a car. An auction site will often have an auction staff who will explain to you the rules of their auction site and the procedures and instruction on how to participate and bid on the cars.

It is wise to inspect the cars before the actual bidding begins. Ask the auction organizer or staff if they can allow you to take a closer look at the cars before the start of the actual auction. Another wise decision is to set your payment limit before the actual sale. This way, you won’t fall victim to the trap of overbidding.

As in other auctions, it is very important that you signal your bids carefully to the car auctioneer to avoid confusion. Settle your transaction as soon as the auction ends. Look for the block clerk and settle your accounts with him. A car auction staff will usually be available to assist you when you are ready to pay for the vehicle you have won. He should also be able to guarantee you a good title for the vehicle.

You must also check the vehicle after you have won and settling your account. Take the vehicle for a test drive and make sure that it conforms to the guarantee and representation made during the auction.

Most auction sites would accept check or credit card if you cannot pay the car with cash. An auction staff will also usually give you a third party financing offer. It is advisable though to have your own finances ready before entering a car auction. Outside financing is usually cheaper than most in-house financing of auction sites.

Ask for an invoice copy from the auction staff. This will enable you to drive or ship your newly bought car to your location. Most car auction managers will give you good deals on shipping arrangements so inquire about this.

There really are no significant differences between a local auction and an online auction. Online car auctions work more or less the same way as local ones. The only disadvantage of online auction sites is that you won’t be able to inspect the car as you would in an actual car auction. In participating in online car auctions be sure that you will be provided with all the necessary information about the car upfront and that there is an actual photograph of the vehicle.

Cars bought from an online auction are usually shipped to the buyer for a minimal fee. Inspect the car immediately upon arrival at your location to minimize risks.

You are now ready for your first car auction. Happy bidding!
