The Best Online Slots

For those of us who are attracted to the flashing lights and the irresistible “cha-ching” of coins billowing out of a slot machine but don’t have the time or money to make a trip to Vegas, the Internet has brought the thrill to you. That’s right, thank goodness for technology because now anyone can enjoy playing the slots without the risk of upsetting a chain-smoking, plastic bucket-toting slot junky that will cut your hands off if you touch a machine that is “theirs.” Who needs the risk of loosing a limb when you can play the slots from the comfort of your computer?

Besides being able to play in your skivvies, what are the advantages to playing slots online? First, if you choose the right sites, online slots will pay out better than even the loosest Vegas slots. Second, playing in your home allows the player to exert a little more control over the playing environment. Slots found in casinos are designed to distract the player. They are obnoxiously loud and brighter than Elton John’s most ostentatious ensemble. Playing online allows you to take control over your environment by turning the volume off, for example.

Delving into the world of online slot machines can be a bit daunting for a first timer. With so many sites from which to choose, how do you know which are reputable or which offer the largest jackpots? Well, here is a quick guide to help get you started. The sites that follow offer the best jackpots and variety of games and are created by reputable firms. Remember, this is just a starting point, don’t be afraid to browse around and find what you like!

1. Vegas Slot Casino offers 151 different games. With the use of beautiful 3D graphics and digital sound, you will feel like you are in the casino. Both new players and regulars are rewarded with deals and promotions. This site offers Classic Slots, Five-Reel Slots, Multi-Line Slots and 13 Progressive Online Slots

2. Slotland Online Casino is known for its realistic portrayal of the in-casino feel, excellent payout odds and ultra-secure financial transactions. Whereas some sites require a software download, Scotland players just point, click and play. They will also match initial deposits of up to $100 to help get new players excited. Scotland offers Magic - five-pay line, Golden 8 - eight-pay line, Heavy Metal - four-pay line, Silver Kiss - two-pay line and others.

3. Golden Palace Casino is known for its “Gold Rally” slot machine jackpot that generally reaches $500,000. Also noteworthy is the “Win a Million Dollars” slot which players find rather enticing. This site will also give new players $200 for the first $100 deposit and it boasts Crazy 7, Jungle Boogie, Funky Monkey and many other slot games.

4. InterCasino is unique in that it shows users the number of current online players and is available in several different languages. It not only offers classic slot games such as Lucky 7s and High Noon, but it also offers over 80 different casino games. This site also offers a 100 percent deposit match up to $90.

Life Insurance. Fat Customers Tell Porkies.

According to a recent survey almost a quarter of UK citizens are over weight but, says Cancer research UK, 25% of these are simply not interested in losing weight. We are in fact the second most obese nation in Europe, second only to Greece.

This not only concerns the UK Government, who have just announced a concerted campaign to tackle the problem via GP’s, but also the life insurance industry.

The problem is that many people are still sensitive about their weight. Sensitive to the extent that they’ll convince themselves that they’re sticking to a diet when they are patently not. The loss of a pound or two occasions celebration, whereas the same two pounds going back the next day remains unannounced. Ring any bells for you?

Well normally, a porky or two about your true weight doesn’t harm anyone - other than perhaps yourself. But now life insurance companies are having to take a much closer interest. They suspect that lots of people are telling lies about their weight on their life insurance applications.

Consequently, Scottish Provident, one of Britain’s biggest life insurers, is tightening up its application procedures. Now, as well as asking applicants how much they weigh, they’ll be asking when they last weighed themselves. It’s an attempt to encourage applicants to answer more accurately rather than pluck a figure out of thin air or being economical with the truth.

A spokesman for the insurer said, “We know that people normally understate their weight, mainly because they are in denial about the subject, although there are also some people who will lie just to get cheaper premiums”.

The British Medical Association classifies someone as “obsess” if their Body Mass Index (BMI) exceeds 24 but most insurance companies are now using 30 as their obesity definition. Above that figure and you’ll find that they’ll load your premium and even ask to have a medical examination. Anyone who is overweight could easily see their life or critical illness insurance premium loaded by up to 50% - and extreme cases, cover will be refused.

So, if you want to know your BMI, take your height in meters and multiply it by itself. Then take the result and divide it by your weight in kilograms. The result is your Body Mass Index.

Whilst BMI has become the accepted method of assessing someone’s weight, it does have limitations as it doesn’t discriminate whether the weight is being carried in fat or muscle. And a study of 33,000 adults reported recently in The Lancet, concluded that the medical profession’s “over 24” BMI obesity definition could be raised to “over 25” without harming health. That’s the equivalent of adding an extra half stone. Their research also found that only adults with BMI’s in excess of 35 suffered a pronounced lowering in life expectancy.

But in accepting a BMI level of 30, the life insurance industry has taken a cautious mid position. Well, if it was your money at risk, wouldn’t you?

The Amazing Applications of Web Conference Calls

Filed under:Living With Multimedia — posted on @ 10:40 am

Conferencing in its very basic form might be two people talking over the phone while browsing through a web site and making comments about the content.

Web conferencing started initially as an audio conferencing calls and it is still largely Used today mainly for presentation calls where the host is guiding a group of listeners, illustrating to them some concepts and from time to time answers questions or asking for comments.

This call can be recorded and later on either distributed to a larger group of potential customers or be put on a web site where other customers can download the audio file to their computer and listen to the whole thing at their convenient time.

With the introduction of the broadband, conferencing emerged into live Video conferencing where participants can actually see each other in addition to be able to hearing each other.

Then it developed into multi layering of information where conferencing participants can talk, see and even share and exchange presentations as well as drawing and sketch a concept on a tablet board (it’s called Whiteboard) while making comments on it.

In Addition web conferencing can conduct poles and votes among the participants same as they would during a board meetings.

This technology is a real alternative to face-to-face meetings. This level of conferencing is not without problems, it must be meticulously planed ahead of time,
positioning the web cams at appropriate well lighted spots, same for the microphones, the participants must exhibit high self discipline and concentration.

It can be implemented locally as well as internationally by medium to large companies. A well planed and coordinated web conference call can save a bundle of time, money and hassle.

One field where this conferencing application really revolutionized the whole process is the engineering and architectural planning. This has became part of e-construction methodology.

The planner is transferring his drawings CAD files to the next level or levels like the electrical engineer or the air-conditioner planner, they can all design and add their drawings over the original raster background (that is because it works in layers).

Then they can coordinate a web conference call and discuss potential conflicts and problems in their separate planning to the general construction plan, this can boost
and speed up the whole planning and design processes and help meet deadlines on time.

Another application can be Coach hiring managers on corporate process, screen candidates and avoid the significant costs associated with flying unsuitable candidates out for interviews.

Training sessions with selected employees around the globe is another time and money big saver. This e-Teacher technology is going to have a tremendous impact in the future on the education system as a whole from high school to the universities.

Selecting The Right Bonsai Pots Is Very Important

Filed under:The Gardening Way — posted on @ 9:16 am

As with all types of plant pots, Bonsai pots are available in a
huge array of sizes, shapes and colours but making sure you
select the correct pot for your Bonsai tree can make the
difference between a good looking Bonsai and an incredible
looking Bonsai. Be warned, though, the pot you pick can have
either positive or detrimental effects to the growth of your
beloved Bonsai tree.

What type of Bonsai pots should I be considering?

Firstly, if you have a juvenile Bonsai that is still growing
quite rapidly you will need to consider several training pots
before you decide on a final show pot to exhibit your Bonsai.
However, when selecting a Bonsai pot you should never pick one
that means you will need to drastically trim the roots. If you
do want to reduce the size of your pot or the roots then you
need to take it in gradual steps, moving down a pot size at a
time before eventually reaching the size you want.

Make sure the pot you are considering has very good drainage and
is entirely frost proof, this will help keep your Bonsai safe
and healthy all year round whether it is kept indoors or
outdoors. If you are selecting a glazed pot, be sure that only
the outside of the pot is actually glazed, because the Bonsai
will need the rough surface on the inside for the roots to grab
onto and establish themselves.

What pot for what tree?

The type of pot you should buy is indicated by the kind of tree
you are growing as well as the style you want. Conifers lend
themselves brilliantly to naturally coloured, unglazed pots
whereas deciduous trees look good in glazed or unglazed and in
just about any colours. Experiment a little to find the right
pot for you, and especially consider pastel colours for your
deciduous trees or a bright coloured pot for a flowering tree.

Also, consider how much room the roots will need for your
particular choice of tree. Cascading trees will require a deep
pot with plenty of room for the roots to grow down but also so
the branches can hang over the side without draping on the floor.

If you have a heavily glazed pot, remember that the colour of
the glaze will age and ware off slightly over it’s lifetime and
many people wipe the glaze with French polish in order to speed
the process up giving your glazed pot a slightly more natural
and aged feel.

Witch Hazel

Filed under:Hall Of Medical Resources — posted on @ 7:31 am

Medicinal Parts: leaves and bark; as distilled Witch Hazel water.

Description: Witch hazel is a deciduous shrub or small tree which grows in damp woods from Nova Scotia to Georgia and Nebraska; it is also cultivated elsewhere for its autumn-blooming flowers.

Properties and Uses: Astringent, hemostatic, sedative, tonic. Witch hazel leaves and bark have served mostly to make astringent preparations which have been taken internally for diarrhea and used externally as a rinse or gargle for mouth and throat irritations and as a vaginal douche for vaginitis. For skin irritations, bruises, insect bites and stings, minor burns and poison ivy, an ointment made from the fluid extract or a poultice can be applied. A poultice made from the inner bark is said to be effective for hemorrhoids and for eye inflammation. The inner bark also has sedative and hemostatic properties.*

Witch Hazel has so many day-to-day uses, that I find it surprising people know so little about it. Today, witch hazel can be purchased at virtually any pharmacy or drug store. Witch hazel is generally found next to the rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide. As always, check with your health care professional before administering any type of herbal remedy.

That said, A witch hazel compress is excellent for treating bruises, minor scrapes and sprains, and as I learned first hand, for reducing swelling and alleviating the pain associated with inflammation.

For years and years (more than I care to recall) I worked as a waitress. Somewhere along the way I managed to bang up my ankle and had a cartilage fragment floating about in there wreaking havoc. After a 7 or 8 hour shift on my feet, my ankle would swell to about twice its’ normal size. I was popping ibuprofen like candy, and hobbling along like a 90 year-old. After a couple of years of this, I finally started searching for an alternative. Lo and behold, there was the witch hazel.

After work, I would soak a compress in witch hazel, lay it across my throbbing ankle and within minutes the pain and swelling would start to subside. Within 20 minutes I could walk normally again with little or no discomfort. In contrast, it would take a minimum of 4 to as many as 6 ibuprofen or buffered aspirin and a minimum of 2 hours before I experienced any relief from the discomfort. For many who suffer adverse reactions to ibuprofen, aspirin, or even Tylenol, this should be welcome news.

Nude Art Photography

Nude photography is the genre of art photography, whose subject is the representation of the naked (full nude) or partially naked (half nude) human body.

The aesthetic value of nude photography and its boundary to erotic photography can only be determined with difficulty and inter-subjectively and is also affected by its numerous overlaps with pornography. In consequence, nude photography and erotic photography always find themselves branded in multiple ways, and labelled as works of artistic freedom, aesthetics, kitsch, junk or provocation. The boundaries of nude photography, erotic photography and pornography are so undefined and continuously changing that they are always determined and defined by the subjective moral view of the individual and the generally accepted cultural confines of “customs and tradition”.

Whether the picture itself is art or junk always lies in the eye of the beholder. One (subjective) definition of the worth of a nude photograph is: “A nude photo is then good, when the Model shows it around at the coffee table at her grandmother’s birthday party and receives positive feedback.” (Günter Rinnhofer) Other definitions have been by far more controversial. For Horst Werner this art form has always been about provocation and evoking of emotions. He prefers disgust, shock and aversion (as evoked for example by his photographs of nudes at a cemetery or of disabled people) to indifference, which in his opinion, is often the only reaction generated by other, more conventional art styles. Additionally, it is nowadays no longer such a taboo to depict the primary sex features of a human being. However, in contrast to pornography, nude photography does not actively pursue to excite the audience, although this does not exclude that it is consumed with this intention and effect.

Tasteful nude photography is often regarded as high skilled photography as besides technical knowledge and the ability to manipulate light the nude photographer also needs strong communication skills and the ability to build a positive relationship with his model. A modelling contract between photographer and model often includes additional remuneration to the model besides payment and publication rights.

Subgenres and Subjets

“Feminine nudity must be given to men by the teaspoonful, not with a scoop.” (Coco Chanel)

Nude photography divides into three basic forms: the “classic” full nude with a simple background, full nude model where model is completely naked; the detailed nude depicting certain details of the body, abstracting and making them anonymous, and emphasising the forms and structures of the nude; and finally the half nude, where the model is partially clothed or partially wrapped with accessories.

History and development

The nude is a classic subject in art. Already the early high cultures (Egypt, Crete, India among others) knew nude representations. Its development into other representation forms can be pursued from Greek clay to the art of the middle ages and on to the European art of the modern age. Since the renaissance, the study of the nude human body is an intrinsic part of art education at art academies.

Since around 1847 the nude has also become the object of photography, the first nude photographers including Philippe Debussy, E. Delacroix, Eugene Durieu and B. Braquehais. Models were both professionals and prostitutes and photographs were both artistic and “spicy”, which often invited the aversion of moral and law enforcement officers.

Trying to get your kids off the couch? Let them jump on a mini trampoline

Filed under:Online Templates Resources — posted on @ 3:32 am

Are you concerned about your kids sitting around the house too
much? Do they spend their day watching TV, playing video games
or surfing the net? Are they turning into couch potatoes? As a
parent you know how hard it is to get your child to do something
good for their health. Heck, you probably haven’t been able to
get them to eat carrots since they were toddlers, how are you
supposed to convince them to go to the gym, or for a run. The
key is finding an exercise that they enjoy, so they will
continue to exercise and make it a lifetime habit. This is where
the mini trampoline comes in.

Do you remember how much fun you had jumping on the bed as a
kid? The Mini Trampoline, or Urban Rebounder lets your kids have
the same fun experience without ruining your mattress or getting
hurt from a fall off the bed.

The mini trampoline is one of the most versatile pieces of
exercise equipment. You kids can jump on it in front of the
television, or outside, and when it’s not in use, it easily fits
in a closet or even under the bed.

Let’s look at some of the benefits of working out on the Mini
Trampoline

It’s a low impact form of exercise Burns more calories than
jogging Improves circulation Gives you a great cardio workout
Strengthens your legs and thighs Improves balance and
coordination Its very portable Above all, it is A LOT OF
FUN!!!!.

Don’t think rebounding is just for kids. You’ll get a great
workout out of this as well. The mini trampoline is perfect for
your entire family and a great investment in your health and
fitness as well. It helps you burn fat and calories fast, but
also works great when it comes to strength training. Your
biggest problem will be to get a turn to work out. (We suggest
you wait until the kids are in school).

When you are shopping for a mini trampoline look for a model
with six legs. It will be a lot more stable than some of the
cheaper four legged models. If you’re just starting out and also
as an extra safety precaution, look for a model with a
stabilizer bar.

We suggest the Urban Rebounder at

receive the complete kit including the stabilizer bar, carrying
case and workout videos. Everything you need to get you started.

Features Should Guide Choices In Caller ID Selection

In today’s hi-tech world, Caller Id’s have become very popular.
These are used by large and small businesses to increase their
productivity and efficiency as well as providing response to
callers on a 24-hour basis. It is so simple. All you are doing
with a Caller ID is renting a monthly service. You don’t have to
buy anything because all you do is rent the service and have
your calls directed to your specific phone number.

There are many features to choose from with Caller ID service
and the ones you choose depend on your needs. Most services make
it possible for you have tailor-made calls to suit your needs,
such as your callers can press a key to find out more
information or to leave a voice message that you can hear when
you pick them up.

Before you get anything you should know exactly what you’re
looking for and what your needs for these services are. You can
determine this by how many different products you are offering
and how many outgoing messages you will need for your business.
This will allow your callers to press different buttons to hear
what they are looking for and to be able to leave messages
pertaining to what their interests are. If you have a number of
employees, you will probably need more than one voice mailbox.
This leaves the opportunity for the caller to speak directly to
the employee he/she dealing with.

Another thing to consider when getting caller ID is to make sure
you assign enough time for your customers to leave the message
that they want to leave. Cutting someone short can mean a loss
of business. If you want to take your own calls then you can get
what is called “Follow Me Live”, which is basically call
forwarding. This service will let the numbers ring until it
locates you. This is only a small portion of what is on the
market, so before you start shopping it will be worth the effort
to do some homework on what the market has to offer whether it
is a personal caller ID you need or one for your business.

There is a wide range of different unified messages and voice
mail available and they have all different features and calling
plans. These services charge a monthly fee for the basic
service, plus long distance, and most of them include a toll
free number. The monthly charge will vary on the kind of package
you choose, but you can get anything from basic service to
unified massaging with the works.

When you are looking for the right package to suit your needs
and you only want a toll-free number, then shop in your local
telephone book first and try to find service that just provides
this kind of service. Start comparing prices with all the
services and sometimes you can come up with some sweet deals.
You will find that with unified massaging it works a little
different. These packages will include such things as virtual
office, virtual assistant and much more. This is where a single
phone number does it all for you, it will automate your
communications and it will consolidate your messages constantly.
It never sleeps.

Nationalism

This article discusses how governments seek public endorsement
of their policies through Nationalism.

In speeches and on Vietnam memorials it always states that the
soldiers, who died, died for our freedom. This is really strange
and illogical. We actually lost the war. Did the victorious
“Charlie Cong” storm America and enslave us? Once we left
Vietnam, we hardly had anything to do with them and they no
longer posed a problem.

But did they ever pose a problem? It seems the word “Communist”
was the real problem. When Ho Chi Minh declared that North
Vietnam was Communist, America’s cold war Red-phobia associated
Vietnam with China and Russia even though there was no initial
connection. North Vietnam threatened no one but South Vietnam.
It was their war not America’s.

But the US insisted on helping South Vietnam. How is this
related to the freedom of individual Americans? The US soldier
was told that he was fighting to preserve the liberty of the
homeland, but this was a vicious lie. To compound the problem
much of the military of the period were drafted. They were taken
from their family and careers and sent to fight for a cause that
was completely unjust.

They did not die for our freedom. Instead they died in vain
mostly to fill the pocketbooks of military arms makers and
contractors. Why is it that no one wants to admit that? Whenever
somebody in government makes a speech, words like freedom and
liberty are always used instead of words like needless or
mistake. If no one admits that Vietnam was a mistake, how can we
ever learn from it?

The problem with Nationalism is that many of the ideals that are
being preached by the nation’s leaders are not in the best
interests of the nation’s people. Yet disagreeing is considered
unpatriotic and at times even traitorous.

Why did the Germans ever listen to the ravings of Hitler? Some
of what he said made sense, but a lot of it was positively
insane. When the propaganda machine takes hold of the individual
he/she has trouble separating fact from fiction. Hitler only had
radio, newspapers, and magazines. We now have TV and the
Internet to confuse us with even more propaganda.

Currently we are involved in another unjust war, the Iraq war.
The words such as “freedom” and “liberty” are again being abused
by the government. Saddam Hussein was undoubtedly a cruel
dictator, but he was able to keep Iraq unified. He had no
nuclear weapons and no connection to 9/11 as the US government
now reluctantly admits. Iraq is a fanatically religious nation
deeply divided in their beliefs. By “freeing” it from Saddam’s
rule for a “democratic” rule, we sentenced the people to decades
of possible civil war. Some countries need to evolve at their
own pace, even if it means dictatorship. If left alone things
would have worked out for the better.

We all know that the real reason for invading Iraq was to gain
control of the Iraqi oil fields. But again we are told the
troops are fighting for our freedom as well as Iraqi freedom.
The US interfered where they had no business; they screwed up a
nation, needlessly sacrificed American and Iraqi lives, limited
American resources for dealing with natural disasters and wasted
the taxpayers’ money. What kind of freedom is that? The best
thing to do now is to end the war and bring the troops home.

Governments like to use the flag as an instrument for people to
proclaim their loyalty. Around this time (September 16th:
Mexican Independence Day) the streets of Chicago are full of
Mexicans in cars waving their flag. Most of them legally and
illegally immigrated to the US because they couldn’t earn a
decent living in Mexico. It puzzles me, if their country means
so much, why not remain there and try to fix its problems.
Patriotism is funny thing, people don’t even know or care why
they wave the flag, yet they still wave it. I assume, that for
Mexican immigrants, flag waving must only symbolize a sign of
their heritage and not an endorsement of their current
government.

Americans also like to wave the flag. During the Vietnam War
some would burn the flag in protest. The burners associated the
flag with the policies of the government. Others associated the
flag with a deeper symbolism: “One nation under God with liberty
and justice for all.” These types of patriots want to imprison
or even shoot anyone defacing the flag. Corporate aliens like to
make flag jeans, underwear and t-shirts as well as ash trays and
coffee cups, but it seems no one considers that type of thing
disrespectful.

Again we are faced with the flag problem because of the Iraq
war. My personal policy is this: Don’t wave, don’t burn. I
refuse to wave the flag ( or wear any flag t-shirts ) until
government policies change, but neither will I burn it so as not
to offend those that treat the flag as a sacred symbol.( I
wonder if t-shirts and coffee cups should be treated as sacred
symbols as well?)

I personally avoid nationalism by considering myself as a
citizen of the world. Since God is the creator, he must be the
leading citizen of the world. I support anything I feel is right
for my fellow man and reject the things that are against common
sense regardless of what the local government has to say. As
long as I’m alive the world is my country. I live in harmony
with a God that rejects all “holy wars” and “wars for corporate
profiteering”. There is no need for flags or anthems. I respect
all just laws and ignore those that I feel are unjust. Everyone
everywhere is a citizen of the world too. Why not accept it.
Stop thinking in the narrow sense of local politics and
religion. Think in terms of what is best for everyone. Together
