Buffy The Vampire Slayer (Season 2) DVD Review

The brainchild of writer Joss Whedon, Buffy The Vampire Slayer originally entered American pop culture as a full-length feature film, starring Kristy Swanson, in 1992. But creator Whedon felt that the project never quite did justice to the full scope of his vision, so he managed turn the film into a television series in 1997. The result of Whedon’s increased artistic freedom is a series that has enjoyed both critical acclaim and audience notoriety. Nominated for 14 Emmy’s during its seven year run, the show managed to win only two (both in 1998 for Outstanding Makeup and Outstanding Music Composition in a television series). Yet, the true success for Buffy The Vampire Slayer is indicated by the massive success of the show’s long run, strong DVD sales, and the overwhelming success of the series spin-off Angel…

Sarah Michelle Gellar plays the title role of Buffy Anne Summers, a teenage girl who stands alone among her generation as the “chosen one” able to “stand against vampires, demons, and the forces of darkness. She is the Slayer…” But Buffy is not alone in fulfilling her destiny as a slayer of vampires. She also receives help from the high school librarian, Rupert Giles (Anthony Stewart Head), who is a Watcher - the one chosen to train and guide slayers on their developmental path. In addition, new friends Willow Rosenberg (Alyson Hannigan - of American Pie fame) and Xander Harris (Nicholas Brendon) quickly uncover the truth of Buffy’s destiny, and they often aid her in defending the world against evil forces…

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Season 2) DVD offers a number of exciting episodes including the season premiere “When She was Bad” in which Buffy returns to Sunnydale following her summer vacation (having defeated the Master), but much to the chagrin of her friends, Buffy’s personality has drastically changed. Her cold demeanor grows worse when she discovers the remaining vampires in Sunnydale are planning to resurrect the Master… Other notable episodes from Season 2 include “Inca Mummy Girl” in which a local museum mummy is accidentally summoned to life with the goal of destroying lives, and “The Dark Age” in which the mysterious past of Rupert Giles is revealed to have included witchcraft and a summoned demon intent on killing him and his friend…

Alternative Health Practitioner, How to Pick the Perfect Help for You

Filed under:Hall Of Medical Resources — posted on @ 10:29 pm

Therapists, physicians, acupuncturists, massage therapists, body workers and energy workers need to be interviewed and checked out just like your roofer!

I don’t know about you but finding a good roofer is might-near-impossible.

Psychological outcome research has shown that half of the therapists make us better and the other half makes us worse.

This means we need to choose wisely. You do not need to continue to pay someone if you are not making dynamic progress toward your goals. If the roofer does not fix your roof you do not continue to pay him money.

The outcome psychological research shows that the technique does not matter, the therapist is the important factor. If he or she is open, loving, caring then he or she can help you feel better. If they are uptight and nervous, they will make you uptight and nervous. I would think that this applies to all holistic practitioners and not just psychologists.

As sensitive people we definitely need to feel safe and secure with any person we are working with. We have a responsibility and right to check therapists, physicians, massage therapists, acupuncturists, body workers and energy workers out very carefully before we put ourselves in their office.

It is our responsibility as clients and consumers to pick and choose based on our own needs and desires.

Even if you get a good recommendation about a person, check them out by calling them up and interviewing them.

Your checklist:
1-What does his or her voice sound like? It is inviting, warm, loving?
2-How accepting are they toward you? Are they open or judgmental?
3-Do they relate equally to you? If not, keep checking around until you find someone that respects you and acknowledges your strengths.
4-How do you feel after talking with them on the phone? Do you feel comfortable? Do you feel hopeful? Did they rush you? If so, then they are anxious, forget them.

If they pass the phone test. Then set up an appointment and continue to check for the above things in person. If they pass the first psychology session test then it is up to you to be open and trust them enough to let them help you.

Therapists and practitioners are not perfect, they make mistakes, just like everyone else. The best ones don’t pretend to be perfect, they know they are human.

What you want to look for during your sessions:

1- How present are they? Do they really listen to you and receive you?
2-How relaxed are they are in their body? Are they breathing?
3-How secure do they seem to be when you get scared, frightened or anxious? If you scare them, they cannot help you.
4-Do they had the information and knowledge to help you calm down your nervous system?
5- Do they know what they are doing?
6-Do you usually feel better and more hopeful after each session?
7-Do they let you express your deepest desires and fears without questioning you?

Remember, it is up to you, the client, to pick and choose someone who is capable and loving.

When you decide that someone is not good for you, you can leave at any time for any reason. Do not feel guilty and take care of the therapist. You are paying them for a service and they need to deliver.

For more about how to live a guilt free life listen to the audio tapes series, A Natural Process for Opening the Heart, over and over again. Dr. Jeanette explains the difference in energy between real feelings and mental judgments that cause you to feel bad and guilty.

Remember you do not owe your physician or therapist anything. They need to help you grow and become healthy or you need to find someone who can.

If you really want to change and grow, pick a therapist who will teach you how to let go of judgmental energy so that you can grow up and achieve self esteem.

Blogging Versus Email Newletters - Do You Need Them Both?

After you have clicked on the article link and before the text is fetched, you probably think — “What Do I think about this one?” You must have an opinion even though the issue (of blogging) is still fresh.

I would say; you need only one of them, if not neither.

You need an email newsletter in the case where you think that relationship management is a must for you business. This story didn’t change much. With a newsletter you are able to give prospects and clients valuable information that is not otherwise available. The newsletter should continue news, but also updates and other product information or discounts. Success stories may be included, etc, etc.

With a newsletter you show your public that you are still around. The frequency per issue may vary, but the credibility will increase when this frequency is constant. This requires hard work, and only liable companies are able to do this. This is why most people buy (on the internet); ninety percent out of trust.

If sales is not your first business priority, than you do not need an email newsletter. There are so many other specialized direct marketing companies and focused companies that you should better link to. And you do not even have to write them a letter, you ought to convince them that your service or product is a win for both.

If sales is not your first priority than you can do without a weblog too. There is no need for a weblog, other than that it is just fancy. Choose for one, if you think it will help your business.

Can Love Destroy?

The title of this article is a little shocking, Isn’t it?
Because no one can think of love and destruction together. But
love does destroy. How? Let us examine.

There is a story of a prince in India. He was in great love with
his wife and never wanted to be without her. One day, an enemy
kingdom attacked him, but the prince did not want to go out and
fight. He did not want to be away from his princess. The
princess realized this and she asked the prince to go out for a
minute. After sometime, a maid brought the head of princess to
the prince with the dying message of the princess. ‘Let our love
not destroy you. You are a prince and you must save your state
from the enemies. I am giving up my life so that you can carry
out your duties properly.’ Does this small story tell us
anything? What lessons can we draw from this?

Many of us are extremely talented. Our talent can create a big
difference to the world. We can help the world fight poverty,
injustice and produce a better life for all. But some of us fall
in frenzied love. This love is all encompassing. This love takes
over our life. We see nothing but our sweetheart everywhere. For
us, all the other work becomes insignificant. We lose our focus
and are centered on our love like a mad person. This eats away
the vitals of our personality.

For a person in deep and fanatic love, nothing matters other
than love. All other talents take a back seat and the only
driver is love. This kind of love destroys. Love that could have
been very inspiring, manages to destroy. This is the irony of
love.

To save yourselves from such destruction, you must always keep a
level headed approach towards everything. You must sit back and
reflect. Find out if you are missing larger goals? Think about
time management and thought management. Discuss this out with
your sweetheart. He/She will surely help you in such a
situation. One who loves you, wants you to grow. So discuss
this. Think, reflect and make other goals equally important once
again in life. Fall in love. Enjoy the bliss of love. But let
that love not destroy your personality.

Weight Loss Tips After the Birth Of Your Baby

http://www.livinghealthysite.com

The tips listed below will help you to get back to you ideal
weight after the birth of your child.

1) Remember that the best approach to weight loss combines
healthy eating and regular exercise. It is important you stay
focussed on both these areas.

2) Eat slowly and chew your food well. Put your cutlery down
between bites and don’t pick them up until you have finished
chewing.

3) Instead of putting the food on the table and letting everyone
help themselves, serve the food on the plate. Allocate the
appropriate amount for each food group.

4) If you feel like snacking, try going for a walk instead.
Before you go, have a good drink of water. Hunger is often
disguising thirst.

5) If you have a problem with junk food and can’t resist the
temptation at home, stop the problem at the source. Don’t buy
any junk food! Or at least limit the amount you buy to one item
per week.

6) Eat smaller meals, but more often. A healthy meal will be a
lot more satisfying than a packet of chips or a drink.

7) Drink fresh juices instead of soft drinks. This will cut down
on your sugar intake, and is a far better alternative than the
artificial sweeteners in those diet soft drinks.
8) Set yourself a weight goal and stick to it. Chart your
progress and stick it on the fridge. It will be a helpful
reminder every time you go in the kitchen.

9) If you do have to go for junk food, try the healthiest
option. For example try to get the burger with the most salad on
it, or get some salads to accompany the meal.

10) Increase your motivation levels, and stay on track. If your
motivation drops, you will find it hard to focus on your goal
weight.

Link To Get Traffic - Not Search Engine Rankings!

There have been a lot of changes on the web since I wrote the first edition of “Power Linking Your Way to 1 Million Hits” in 2002. Back then I told everyone that the only thing that will never change, despite search engine shake-ups and search technology improvements, is that links will always be the most important part of any website promotion campaign.

In fact, the people best able to withstand major changes and shifts in the search engines that affect their rankings are the people who have a broad, multi-faceted marketing campaign.

In order to weather any drops from single-sources of traffic to your site, you must have a lot of irons in the fire (links). People you have targeted as your best prospects should be able to find your site virtually everywhere they surf.

Web site owners who rely solely on search engine ranking are leaving 90% of the marketing pie on the plate! For long-term stability and steady, predictable traffic, you simply must broaden your reach and utilize a host of different publicity tactics in order to keep sales up.

One of the most effective tactics I talk about is article publishing. It is also one of the most misunderstood and abused tactics I teach. If you don’t get it, don’t do it. Below is my explanation of why we write articles and other short publications in the first place.

Publishing and Syndication of Your Articles

A lot of people miss the boat on this one. And it’s too bad that many people see that articles and other published works are important, but they don’t produce quality work, therefore their work doesn’t get picked up by big web sites and newsletter owners.

You see, most people focus on article publishing as a way to get a link published to their site. (Solely for search engines to find) Problem is, once they have syndicated their article to tons of free content sites, all they have at the end of the day is a link pointing to their site.

No one is READING the articles! Why? Because, honestly, they are terrible. Or they are just short of being blatant ads. People pick up on an amateur article within the first sentence or two and move on. Didn’t you write your article to get traffic?

Produce shoddy work and there is no click on the link. There is no traffic produced. The webmasters who focus totally on getting links as a tool to increase their pagerank in Google are missing the point entirely.

The point of Power Linking and all the tactics in the system was never to get high search engine rankings. Getting ranked well in the search engines was and still is a BY-PRODUCT of a properly executed Power Linking campaign.

When I talk to my clients about getting links, what I am talking about is getting links placed in places where human beings will see them and click on them. Not just link directories which are created solely for boosting link popularity with Google.

So when you publish an article, take the time to think about what people in your market need or want to know and give it to them. And write a GOOD article!

Linking is not just something that looks like this: www.power-linking-profits.com. Real linking is networking and making connections with future customers on an emotional level through your publicity pieces.

Linking is about respect. You gain respect by being published and being seen as the expert in your field. And it goes without saying that your published work needs to stand up to basic quality expectations of savvy readers in your target market.

Come off looking like a hack who is only interested in getting a link published at the end of their cruddy article, and you lose all respect. So even if someone does click on your link, they have reservations about you right off the bat before they even get to your site. This is no way to sell products and services.

If you remember nothing else, please remember this: No matter what linking method you work on this week, keep in mind that the most important links of all are the links intended for real people to see and click on!

Get linked in content directories and on web pages that get hit by as many of your target prospects as possible. And link to get traffic, not search engine rankings!

People focus too much on search engine marketing. If you do your job as a marketer, you will naturally rank high in the search engines. There is no need whatsoever to focus your marketing campaign on search engines entirely.

Focus your marketing efforts on people, your customers, and you will have what I call “Natural Search Engine Rankings.” You see, Google wants the most relevant results. That’s where their bread is buttered. Well, what I have been trying teach thousands of customers all this time is that you need to focus your marketing campaign on your customers so that you are the MOST relevant site on the net in your market.

Don’t worry about Google. They WANT you to be #1 if you deserve to be. How to be #1? By marketing to your customers directly on sites they surf the most and being the natural relevant result in their search.

Good search engine rankings will follow a great marketing campaign. By the time you get your #1 position on Yahoo though, you should have so much traffic and sales because of a properly implemented marketing campaign that you hardly notice you finally made it!

That’s the REAL power of linking.

Finding the Best Swimsuit for You

You might have seen those swimsuits advertised by the great fashion magazines. Almost all swimsuits look great on those supermodels but what about the common folks who cannot wear swimsuits of size 4?

We buy those swimsuits that look great on supermodels as those look great when they wear them but you make a smart decision if you do a little search on what best suits you.

First of all do not compare yourself with those swimsuit models. They give all their lives to look the way they do and to have a few photo sessions.

Finding the right swimsuit for you can be depressing especially if the sizes you wear are a little higher. This is especially for plus size swimsuits, but now a days the major companies are coming up with more and more of these plus size swimsuits and some companies specializes only in plus size swimsuits.

Choosing a swimsuit with a high percentage of Lycra or spandex and a high-cut leg will actually shave 10 pounds off of your appearance.

Women with a pear shape have a great problem while selecting a swimsuit.
A built in tummy tuck provided by some plus size swimsuits provides you an extra support. Search specifically if that’s what you are looking for.
High-cut legs tend to slim the hips and thighs. The women with a pear shape can go with
flashy top with plenty of eye-grabbing detail combined with more subdued bottoms.

Women with short and long torso have a difficult time shopping as well. Torso length is a very important factor in buying swimsuits. If you want to lengthen or shorten the appearance of torso in a swimsuit then get the perfect cut on the legs. Women with long torsos should try a tankini with bottoms that sit a little higher on the hips. The tankini top will break up a long torso while the higher bottoms will lengthen the legs.

If you have a large bust you have few choices but most swimsuit manufacturers now offer bra-style support in their swimsuits, an absolute must for minimizing and flattering large breasts. Find a bikini or swimsuit in a pretty, young, pastel color.

Women with small bust then the bra style support looks great.
If you have a boy shaped body then we suggest one-piece swimsuit with a low, plunging neckline.

Boy shorts are incredibly popular but look attractive on only a small percentage of women; women with boy shapes make up the majority of this small percentage.

Online shopping has become easier than ever before.

You may be sitting in your computer chair but you will be on a highway, a highway to the swimsuits shopping heaven.

Although it’s sometimes depressing to search online for hours together without results you always have the option to grab your best friend and go shopping offline.

Golf Tips - Good Gear and Sportsmanship

If you are just getting into the sport of golf, you have
probably heard thousands of golf tips from well-meaning golfers.
However, what many golfers fail to realize is that many of the
golf tips that work well for one golfer, simply do not work well
for another. Here are some golf tips that work well for everyone.

As a beginner, do not rush out and buy a set of high priced
clubs. Buy a set of used clubs, or better yet rent your clubs.
Take a little time to see if you really enjoy the game of golf,
and if you will stick to it first. The used or rented clubs
won’t be the top of the line, but they will get you through
several games of golf to see if you are going to stick with it.
This is also a good opportunity to start researching exactly
what clubs you need when you are ready to buy a new set.

Golf is fun, but the sport should not be taken lightly. It is a
sport - it isn’t just a bunch of retired men knocking a ball
around. It takes a great deal of skill and technique to master
the game. The pros you see on television make it look quite
simple - but it isn’t. The concepts you will learn from more
experienced golfers will sound easy - and look easy - in theory,
but in practice, they are quite difficult. The sooner you
realize this, the faster you will start to improve your game.

While golf does require skill and technique, it is still meant
to be enjoyed and the experience should be relaxing. If you get
angry over bad shots or you find that you are not enjoying the
game, you should back up and re-evaluate your reasons for
playing the game. Try to look at things from a new perspective.
It is a game that tests your skill - but it should not test your
patience!

Choose your golf aids carefully. A great deal of money can be
wasted on aids, courses, and videos that turn out to not be any
help at all. When possible, buy used aids, courses, and videos.
Save your golfing money for more important things - like clubs,
balls, and tees! Used clubs aren’t very good - used training
equipment usually works quite well.

Golf is great exercise. Riding in a golf cart defeats that
purpose though. Walk, don’t ride! Save the cart for the days
when you really are too old to walk a short distance - take
advantage of the exercise that you will get by walking from one
tee to the next, and take the time to actually enjoy the walk!

Alcohol is often served at the clubhouse - but you should wait
until you finish your round of golf before consuming any. First,
the alcohol will greatly alter your game. Second, alcohol is a
dehydrating substance, and this isn’t safe in the hot sun. Carry
water with you during your game, and make sure you drink plenty
of it!

Becoming good at the game takes a lot of practice. Use your
practice sessions to learn what mistakes you are making, and
work to correct them. Don’t just keep making the same mistakes
over and over, thinking that it doesn’t matter, or that it is
too hard to learn! If you’re going to play, play to win!

Use training aids, and if possible, video tape yourself playing
a round of golf, making sure that you get close up shots of you
teeing off, close up shots of the club hitting the ball on the
tee-off, and even shots of you putting. Have a friend run the
camera for you for best results, and review the tape in slow
motion to see what needs the most work.

The most important golf tips you will ever receive are the ones
that focus on good sportsmanship. Never make fun of other
players. Some people do look funny playing golf - but those
funny looking people can probably beat every aspect of your
game, and they will have the last laugh. Be respectful of your
fellow golfers, and listen closely to the advice of the seasoned
players.

How to Make Time for Art

Filed under:House Of Self Improvement — posted on @ 9:37 am

The key to making time for art is the ability to say “NO”.

If you say “yes” to everything that is asked of you, you will not
have time to be creative. And it is so easy to say “yes” to all
kinds of things and so hard to say “no”. It is hard to say “no”
to immediate family, extended family, demands of friends,
organizations, messy houses, cluttered basements–the list
is endless.

Making art takes lots of time. It not only takes a great deal of
time to do whatever it is you are creating, but it also takes a
great deal time for what most people would consider “down
time”. Artistic down time is a foreign concept to people who
are not artists. Our society values busyness over artistic
incubation, but you cannot create art without it.

You will feel immensely guilty saying to yourself that your art
is more important than time spent with a certain friend,
organization or clearing out that large dust bunny that is
appearing under your bed! But ask yourself, if there was
something really crucial, wouldn’t you slash everything that
was unessential in your life to take care of it. The answer is
yes. Do the same thing with your art.

Learning how to say “no” takes practice. You may want to
communicate to your nearest and dearest your new priority,
so they won’t feel emotionally abandoned. From time to
time you will get sucked into situations and events; and it
takes a great deal of effort to find a balance between
creating art and also having a meaningful life outside of that
endeavor.

But remember, “no” is a complete sentence. It will take
everyone some time to adjust to your new way of living.
There may be a lot of grumbling from a lot of people, but if
creating art is really important to you, let them grumble
away. You’ll find out who your friends really are. The ones
that really care about you will want what’s important for
you–to create art!

Data on the Road With Your Cell Phone

Finally you’re spending the weekend at your friend’s cabin up at the lake. You managed to sneak your laptop up there because you know you’ll need to check your e-mail at least once or twice while you’re out of town.

If there happens to be Ethernet or Wifi available you’ll be in luck - just plug in and you’ll be ready to go! But what if you are in a secluded area? How should you get online?

Sometimes the best solution is to either have a cell phone or cell phone/PDA that acts as a modem, my favorites are the T-Mobile Sidekick and Treo 650.If you have a way to dial in to your ISP this can be a solution.

AOL has local numbers around the US for example. The speed will be slow and you may need to pay roaming charges if you happen to be roaming on a different network, but you will be online!

Keep in mind that some but not all phones can be used as a modem and even then some require a wired connection. If you’re lucky you’ll have one that works via IR (infared) or Bluetooth, so they can talk wirefree to your computer.

Sometimes a phone will have multiple ways to connect to a laptop - choose Bluetooth over IR. USB is also a fine choice if you don’t mind wires. Using USB is easiest - you just plug the USB cable into the phone and the other end plugs into a USB port on your laptop.

Connecting via Bluetooth means that you will need to PAIR the devices first. This means they need to identify each other and talk to each other when they are in range (about 30′). You will need to turn on your Treo 650’s bluetooth function and then make sure it is “discoverable”. Then turn on your laptop’s bluetooth, pair the two devices.

You are now ready to dial up your ISP. You have two options. Use the cell phone as a traditional modem - using your voice minutes to transfer data. This will usually be very slow, but if you have free nighttime calling this may cost you nothing. The other option is to subscribe to your carrier’s data service.

Prices range from $5/month for limited data service on some carriers, to $50/month on other carriers for unlimited data service. The norm is about $20-$30/month for unlimited service. This enables you to use your cell phone as a modem all the time even at home and minutes of internet do not count toward your monthly minutes. This service will usually require a “dial-up script” which you can get from the carrier or sometimes directly from the phone manufacturer’s website. This script gets installed on your laptop.

Another option is to get a cellular card for your laptop. This is a modem/card that automatically accesses the internet via the cellular service. These come with a subscription in most cases.

If you need to be online and you can’t wait to find Hotspots each time you need access - this is the way to go. Prices per month range from $29.99 to $79.99 depending on the carrier and level of service.

A few final words:

- Turn off bluetooth when you aren’t using it - it drains the battery faster than when you have it turned off.

- If you don’t have Bluetooth on your laptop you can buy a Bluetooth Adapter (often called a Bluetooth Dongle) for about $19.

-I recommend buying one branded by Linksys, Netgear or some other well-known company. There are some cheaper ones coming out of China that require special setup on your laptop and may not be as reliable.
