Women’s Health and Weight Loss Tip #3: The Importance of Iron in a Woman’s Diet

One of the biggest weaknesses of the traditional commercial
diet is the lack of iron that exists in its
stringent and often excessively limited eating guidelines. In
order to lose weight, many unsuspecting women get bamboozled
into taking part in weight loss programs that cut out many of
the nutrients that they need. Iron is one of the primary
casualties of such diets and weight loss plans.

The plot thickens for women in particular due to the fact that
their bodies regularly lose iron during menstruation. Therefore,
eating a low-calorie, low-iron diet in an effort to lose weight
only makes the problem more severe.

It is generally suggested that women supplement their diets with
an iron supplement such as the Vitality multivitamin offered by
Melaleuca, the Wellness Company. This is particularly
important during periods of heavy exercise and training that are
typical aspects of any weight loss program or general effort to
lose weight even when a special program is not in use.

One thing to be on guard for, however, is excessive iron
supplementation by iron-deficient (non-anemic) women.
There is a disorder known as hemosiderosis which results
from large deposits of iron made in the liver that causes a
glitch in the proper metabolism of the iron itself. Avoiding
prolonged large doses will eliminate the risk of this particular
disorder.

Below are a few recommendations from the American Council on
Exercise (ACE) that will help you to make sure you get the
adequate amount of iron intake in your daily diet, whether on a
program to lose weight or not:

- Eat foods with a high vitamin C content with all meals.
Vitamin C aids in the absorption of iron. (examples: salsa;
chili peppers; oranges)

- Include dark meat chick and/or turkey in the training diet.
Both of these are rich in iron

- Vegetable proteins such as split pea soup or chili beans with
lean meat help the iron in those meats to properly absorb

- When eating starchy carbohydrates such as cereals, breads, and
pastas, gravitate to those labeled “enriched” or “fortified” for
their higher iron content.

5 Tips To Cure Your Acne

Here are 5 tips to help with acne prevention and treatment and skin maintenance. They are listed in no particular order of importance.

1. Get plenty of fresh air and sunshine for vitamin D, ingredients for healthy skin. Not only will your skin appreciate the vitamin D, your body and mind will enjoy the oxygen and stress reducer of a daily jaunt outdoors. But don’t overdo it and get a sunburn! Remember to use sun protection / tanning lotions if you’ll be out long. You don’t want to get caught up in that cycle of burned, dead skin cells blocking pores, resulting in acne scenario.

2. Remember, even “good” stress can trigger internal chemical responses that result in acne, too. So plan ahead to deal with extra stress when planning a wedding, graduation, a move, a new job, a job transfer, a new baby, etc. Journal a little extra, focusing on the upcoming issue or issues and plan in some extra rest (use relaxation or meditation tools - cassettes, workshops, etc.) Get help around the house, take time off, exercise (yoga and T’ai Chi are highly recommended), have fun or whatever you need to do.

3. Drink an adequate amount of water daily. Many recommend three to four tall glasses and mineral or filtered water. Too little water can lead to dehydration, which can lead to dead skin cells not naturally falling off or sloughing properly; the end result can be blocked pores, acne.

4. Acne has nothing to do with dirt. Period. So don’t over-wash or over-scrub your face or the rest of your body. Keep in mind that too much can result in dry skin. And dry skin means your body will jump in and create more oil. Then what? Extra oil + extra dead skin cells = blocked pores, triggering acne flare-ups. Same old story.

5. - Add more fruits, veggies, seeds and nuts to your regular diet. (Note that deficiencies if selenium and zinc, found in Brazil nuts and pumpkin seeds, have been associated with acne.) So add salads, dried fruit and nut snacks, juices and other healthy treats to your daily planning.

This report includes information based upon research about acne. It strives to help clear up myths from facts and present an overview of the issues surrounding acne along with possible solutions available to help with the prevention and treatment of acne, all based upon the most recent studies, reports, articles and findings available, so that you can learn more acne health care.

Online Articles - Get Traffic Today

Online articles may be the single best way to get traffic to
your web site. Writing articles and submitting them to free
article directories is certainly one of the least expensive
ways. To make it work, though, you have to be persuasive.

Maybe you wonder what persuasive writing has to do with
articles. You’re not exactly selling something with an
informative article, are you? Actually, you are. First, you have
to persuade the reader to keep reading until he gets to your
link at the bottom. Then you have to give the reader a reason to
click through to your site. Use the following tips to get more
traffic by writing persuasively.

Persuasive Online Articles

1. Keyword optimized headlines. “How Much Can You Make This
Year?” will get more readers than “Make More Money,” but only if
people find the article first. “Get Rich Writing Simple
Articles,” might have been a more attention grabbing headline,
but I used “Online Articles” because that is a keyword phrase
that people are actually searching. Of course, if you can use
good keywords AND eye-catching headlines, it is even better.

Another way to have the best of both, is to write the article
twice. Firt write it with a good keyword-optimized title, and
then re-write it and submit it again with a more catchy title.
Paint a picture in seven words or less, if you can. “A Thousand
Dollars Fell Off My Table,” might lure them in. Titles with,”10
Ways To…” or “Avoid These Six Mistakes…” or “How To…” in
them, are popular too.

2. The article description. Many article directories require a
description. This lets the reader know what the article is
about, and hopefully convinces them to read it. Hinting at
things and leaving the reader wanting more can help: “If you’re
making these errors, you’re losing money every day. Learn to
avoid the most common optimization mistakes.”

3. The article body. You should write in your natural style,
or, if you haven’t yet developed one, stick to easy “top 10″
types of articles. Keep paragraphs short, or readers will lose
interest. Hinting at incompleteness can also help to get readers
to visit your site. Instaed of, “Here’s how to write articles.”
Say, “Here are a few of the techniques I use to easily write new
articles.” You want them looking for the other techniques - on
your site.

4. Use subtitles. The use of subtitles and headings breaks up
an article, making it easier to read. Subtitles also help to
optimize an article for search engines, if they contain good
keywords. You’ll notice I often use subtitles, like the one
coming up…

Online Articles - The Resource Box

You write online articles to get traffic, which you get from the
link in the author’s resource box - if the reader clicks on it.
Invite them to do so, and never just put your name,
acheievements, and a link. At the very least say “To learn more,
visit…” or something similar.

My most successful resource box is for my real estate site. It
reads, “Steve Gillman has invested in real estate for years. To
get a free real estate investing course, and see a photo of a
beautiful house he and his wife bought for $17,500, visit
http://www.HousesUnderFiftyThousand.com” The resource box is
what online articles are all about. Below, you’ll find an
another one that has worked well for me.

Learning the Russian Language Today

Filed under:Life Of Language — posted on @ 12:43 pm

The Russian language is the most commonly spoken language in Europe. It is a Slavic language whose roots can be traced to Sanskrit, Greek, and Latin. Though not as internationally prominent as its days as the official language of the former Soviet Union, it is still the official language of such countries as Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. Russian is a language of dignity, but can seem intimidating to learn. If you have considered learning a second language, the Russian language will prove to be a challenging yet rewarding achievement.

As a student of the Russian language, you have several alternatives by which you can learn it. If you choose to study Russian at the college level, and receive your degree in it, you will acquire an expertise in the language that can provide you with several career opportunities. With a degree in Russian, one career option for you is as a foreign language translator. Foreign language translation firms employ people who are fluent in many different languages, including Russian. Coupled with knowledge in another field (such as law or medicine), you would have the opportunity to work to bridge the gap between English-speaking and Russian-speaking business contacts by translating websites and documents for them. Another career opportunity would be as a teacher of English as a second language in a Russian-speaking country. After receiving your teaching certification, you could work for a language school in Russia teaching students how to speak, read, and write English. With a solid knowledge of Russian, you would be able to work and live alongside native Russian speakers with ease.

If you are interested in learning the Russian language for travel purposes, you can opt to enroll in an accelerated course online. You can learn basic Russian at your own pace, and you will feel more comfortable when you travel to Russian speaking countries if you know how to communicate you basic needs (such as asking for directions) to Russian residents. If you have the time and the financial resources, another option is to learn the Russian language by enrolling in an immersion program in Russia. An immersion program lasts anywhere from two to six weeks. By doing this, you will not only learn the Russian language, but you will also experience the Russian way of life. You will become part of the life and culture, and you will learn the language quickly, despite your uncertainties.

Through intensive group and individual training, you will learn the conversational and colloquial styles of Russian. You will interact on a daily basis with people who are native speakers of the Russian language, and you will have no choice but to communicate with them in their native tongue. You will be captivated by the everyday life of Moscow or St. Petersburg. You will grow to understand and appreciate the Russian culture: the history, the art, the culture (the ballet!), the architecture, the food, and the people. You will attend courses in which you will learn the Russian alphabet, and learn how to read and write in Russian as well. Learning the Russian language in an immersion program is an exciting way to broaden you horizons and vacation all at the same time.

By learning to speak, read, and write the Russian language, you have the potential to one day embark on a career as a foreign language translator, providing an invaluable service to global corporations. You can live abroad and teach English to Russian students, while experiencing a new culture. Learning Russian will make you a more sophisticated traveler as well. You will be able to show more appreciation, and enjoy the Russian culture more when you can communicate with the residents. By learning the Russian language, you have the knowledge of another language, another history, another culture, and your scope of the world will be broadened just a little bit more. http://www.foreign-languages-school.com

Copywriting Successes and Failures: A Comparison Of the Good and Bad

by Karon Thackston © 2002 http://www.copywritingcourse.com

It’s about 7:00am and time to start my day. While my exact
routine varies, one of the first things I always do is check
email. As the flood rolls in, I have my finger poised on the
delete button… aimed and ready to fire. But then something
catches my eye.

On this morning, I decided to take a closer look at one email in
particular. That led me to also lend a critical eye to some
other ads as well. So below, I’ll give you my evaluation of a
few of the many email ads I’ve received… which ones got my
attention, which ones I just rolled my eyes at… and why.

Attention Getter

Here’s one that is well targeted, indeed! The headline read:
“Inquiry About Becoming An Affiliate.” That got my attention
because my copywriting course does have an affiliate program.
I’m always interested in adding new affiliates to the group. So
I read on.

Part of the message is below:

———————–

Good morning. I would like to inquire about possibly working
with you and your company on an affiliate basis.

My company maintains a fresh, 100%, opt-in email database
exceeding 15,000,000 qualified consumers. These consumers have
specifically requested to receive purchase information regarding
your product(s) or service(s).

If you’re interested, I would be glad to speak with you about a
cost-per-action (CPA) email campaign that WILL make additional
sales and generate alternative revenue.

———————-

While the generic line about my product(s) or service(s) let me
know immediately that this was a “canned” ad, it still gave me
something to think about. Did I respond? Yes! Why? If I could
get the copywriting course in front of over 15,000,000, and pay
the same affiliate commission I was paying anyway, what would I
have to lose?

Rolling My Eyes

However, among the pile of emails were some real duds. I must
get 10 of these ridiculous emails a week. You’ve no doubt seen
them, too. They say something like “I joined this program a few
months ago and promptly forgot about it.” Oh please!

Why did I roll my eyes at this one? While it started off good,
it wasn’t punchy enough to get me to respond right away. That’s
no major crime. It often takes repeated exposure of the same
message to get a good response. But… when you get the exact same
message from several different people 3 or 4 times a day – you
find out quickly that this is an overused ad, not a personal
recommendation.

Then there are the ads that are just extremely targeted
. A few headline examples are:

Karon, FREE 30-Day Sample of HGH – One problem with this is that
I don’t need Human Growth Hormone. The other problem is that
clicking the email launches one of those automatic scripts that
take you directly to the site. Something I personally can’t
stand! I also get at least 3 of these annoying things a day.
With me, chances are that if the ad pops up a screen when I
click it, I delete the thing before the screen even finishing
loading.

Health Discovery! No Diet! No Exercise! – All the exclamation
points immediately let me know that this is a hard sell scam.
Not to mention, I have trouble keeping weight ON… not off.
This one was deleted
without reading any further due to simple irrelevance.

Approved and Ready! – The copy of this ad simply stated: “Your
home refinance loan is approved! To get your approved amount, go
here.” Hmmm… if memory serves me correctly, I never applied for
a home loan. Click!

As you can see, all of my first impressions were based on the
subject line. Other factors in the ad copy contributed to my
final decision about whether to look into the offer. The subject
line, however, was the single playing card as to whether I would
read ANY of the copy.

Final notes: put the majority of your time into developing your
subject line. Then test, test, test to get the best results.
Also, make very, VERY sure your mailing list is targeted. With
all the options today for segmenting lists, you have the luxury
to email your ads to a group much more specific than “women over
30.” The more targeted you can get, the better your response
will be.

Article Distribution

Article Distribution Copyright 2006 Javier Salces

Article distribution is a time honored and reliable method of
traffic generation.

It is similar to viral product promotion in the sense that your
links will spread across multiple channels. Your job is to write
high quality articles that other site owners want to use to buff
up their content offerings.

When you submit an article, you remain the copyright holder.

All you’re doing is granting permission for reprints. Each
article you submit should have what’s known as a byline or
resource box. This is just a brief piece of text at the end of
your article where you write a short “about the author”
description of you and/or your web site and include your URLs.

Articles can net you great exposure in more than one way.

You’ll definitely gain exposure through reprints when other
marketers use your article for web site or eZine content. You’ll
also gain leverage in the search engines! The more articles you
submit on the same theme, the more often your articles will come
up as top listings for related keywords.

This is a bonus that many people overlook. Try to compose your
articles with keyword optimization in mind and see what happens!

Here’s a quick reference list of sites to submit your articles
to:

http://www.ezinearticles.com

http://www.ideamarketers.com http://www.goarticles.com
http://www.postarticles.com

http://www.article99.com

http://www.webarticles.com

http://www.womensarticles.com

http://opt-inleads.com/cgi-bin/vp/articles.cgi

Mix and Match Your Bylines*

Once you begin submitting articles and realize their power,
you’ll probably come up with all sorts of creative ideas.

You don’t always have to link to your main index page in your
byline. You can link instead to your newsletter opt-in page or
even insert your autoresponder address with subscription
instructions.

You can also use articles as a type of “pre-sell” for various
affiliate products.

If there’s a reason you aren’t collecting leads and would prefer
to send traffic direct to the merchant’s page, your article can
serve as the pre-sell content you’d normally send out to a list,
but with the potential for reaching a broader audience.

In fact, if you choose, you could submit an entire follow up
series of articles to an article syndication site, and just drop
your affiliate URL (cloaked, of course!) into the byline at the
end of each one.

Final Tip*

When you compose your articles, do so with a degree of keyword
optimization in mind.

Article syndication sites often come up higher in rankings to
being with due to the vast amounts of content they serve.

Therefore, individual article pages properly optimized for
keyword targeting can ride on the site’s higher ranking.
Remember: you’ve got a link to your site in your byline. Even
though your URL isn’t technically the one popping up in the
listings, you’re effectively creating a virtual ranking for
yourself. Searchers who click on the article link will no doubt
click on your link at the article’s end as well.

What’s new for the 2006 Corvette Z06?

First, the 2006 Chevrolet Corvette has been redesigned for the 2006-year model. It has enhanced features, but in this article I want to tell you specifically about the Z06 features to this model.

The Z06 is, of course, the fastest vette ever built. It will have a 500 horsepower 427 cubic inch engine with lightweight components. What does this mean in a 3130-pound car? It means superior performance beyond all other Corvettes. Estimated 0-60 in less than 4 seconds along with a sub 12-second quarter mile. Top speed is reported to be more than 190 MPH (on a closed race track of course).

What makes this new Corvette so much better? Several components:

  1. 500-hp/475 lb.-ft torque

  2. 7000 RPM redline

  3. 11.0:1 Compression

  4. Titanium connecting rods

  5. Titanium intake valves and pushrods

  6. Hand built engine

  7. Dry sump lubrication

  8. Aluminum body structure

  9. Carbon fiber front fenders

  10. Magnesium front cradle

  11. Fixed roof design for rigidity

  12. Larger grill and cold air intake scoop

  13. Wide rear fenders and a rear spoiler incorporated into the tail of the car

  14. Larger cross-drilled front and rear disc brakes

  15. Larger wheels and tires

  16. 3” exhaust

  17. Light weight seats with fixed side bolsters

Options:

  1. Bose audio with an in dash six CD changer

  2. Polished wheels

  3. Telescoping steering wheel

  4. Heated seats

  5. Navigation system

  6. Homelink

  7. XM Satellite Radio

All in all, this is going to be one of the best Corvettes Chevrolet has ever offered. I can’t wait to see one.

Child Birthday Party Game Ideas

Need some fun child birthday party game ideas that will turn
your child’s party into an instant success? Here are some great
games that your party guests will love.

The Secret Of The Mummy

Divide your party guests into two teams… Have each team choose
a player to be “the Mummy.”

Then give each team three rolls of toilet paper… Then start
your party theme music and see which team is first to wrap up
their Mummy from head to toe… To make things more fun, you
might want to give them a two minute time limit… A great child
birthday party game idea!

Whats That Smell

Blindfold each party guest one at a time, then place something
in a paper bag for them to smell and see if they can guess what
it is…

Try a peppermint, gum, toothpaste, cheese, a slice of pizza,
cherry candy, grape candy, a banana, peanut butter or something
milder like a slice of bread.

The Great Detective

A child birthday party game idea they’re sure to love.

Have your birthday child go into another room and make a slight
change in their appearance… Put on something different, one
different sock, reposition their hat, or take off or add some
jewelry… Then have them come back in the room with their party
guests and see which guest is “the great detective” and can
figure out what’s different.

Quick Change Artist

Give each child a bag that contains a big over-sized shirt, big
pants, big socks and a big knit or floppy hat… Start your
party theme music and say “ready - set - go!”

Each player starts putting the baggy clothes over their own
clothing.,.. The first one to put on all the clothes from the
bag is “the quick change artist.”

You might want to have your party guests remove their shoes to
make it easier to get the big socks on their feet.

Sneak Attack

Have your birthday child sit in a chair in the middle of the
room and place a blindfold over their eyes… Place an object
under the chair. It can be a stuffed animal, a toy, a small bag
of candy or a wrapped gift.

Keep everyone quiet as your party guests try to sneak up (one at
a time) and take the object under the chair… If your birthday
child tags them, that player is out and the next player must try
and take the object… Your birthday child can move their arms
around, but don’t let them use their feet.

Silly Dress-Up

A great child birthday party game idea for everyone.

Take lots of wild - colored shirts, pants, hats, socks, scarves,
jackets and anything else you can think of and have your party
guests see who can come up with the silliest, funniest, craziest
costume.

Wild Animal Act

Write the name of an animal on a piece of paper, fold the paper
in half (so you can’t see what’s written) then put all the
pieces of paper in a bowl… Have one party guest take a piece
of paper out of the bowl and act out that animal… The first
player to guess the animal correctly then takes a piece of paper
from the bowl and acts out that animal… Keep playing until all
your party guests have had a turn.

Wacky Balloon Race

Divide your party guests into two teams… Have one player from
each team put a balloon between their knees… When you say
“go,” start your theme music and both players race to the finish
line without dropping or popping their balloon.

If a balloon pops or the player drops their balloon, that player
has to start all over again with a new balloon…

Every player on each team must race with the balloon. The team
that finishes first wins.

Child Birthday Party Game Ideas

You can vary each of these games to make them appropriate for
the age group of your party…

Have fun, laugh, enjoy, take lots of pictures and shoot plenty
of video!

Amazon Cruise - Expert Guide

An Amazon cruise is the ultimate jungle adventure. From
the endless green carpet of tree tops that make up the
rainforest to the exotic wildlife that inhabits the waters of
the mighty Amazon River, an Amazon cruise will reveal
an awe-inspiring ecosystem that is both captivating and
educational..

If you’ve ever wanted to see herds of pink dolphins in their
natural habitat, or uncover unique medicinal plants found
nowhere else in the world, an Amazon cruise could be just
the type of vacation that you are looking for !

When choosing your Amazon cruise you’ll find that you
are presented with two distinct choices of cruise
vacation. If you’re looking to tour the Amazon from the
comfort of a large luxury cruise liner, Amazon cruises
leaving from the city of Manaus in the heart of the
Amazon Rainforest are ideal..

Manaus, at the confluence of the Negro and Amazon Rivers
represents the furthest point upstream that large Amazon cruise
liners can venture. Here, the Amazon is 11kms wide, and it is
the main port from where many of the larger cruise liners set sail..

The second Amazon cruise option offers travelers the
opportunity to explore the head of the Amazon River in
Eastern Peru. Here, some 6,000kms west of the River’s
exit point into the Atlantic Ocean, the Amazon
ecosystem is at its most diverse..

The river is much narrower here, so Amazon cruise crafts are
smaller, taking the form of riverboats with a capacity to hold no
more than 50 or 60 passengers. The favored port of departure and
return on a Peru Amazon cruise is located at the city of Iquitos.
Most passengers arrive at Iquitos by air on an internal flight from
Lima - the capital of Peru..

An unforgettable adventure No matter where your Amazon cruise
departs from, what you’ll see and hear along the way will dazzle,
entertain and often render you speechless! You could take in a
shore excursion where you’ll meet a local shaman in a remote
Amazonian village, or perhaps you’ll go trekking in the jungle on a
quest to discover rare species of plant and animal..

From the cruise boat too the Amazon is full of surprises! Imagine
coming face to face with the smallest monkey in the world as it
dangles from a tree branch close to your boat, or watching the
mesmerizing display of a shimmering six-foot Golden Dourada
one of the most beautiful freshwater fish in the world. It really does
make for an unforgettable experience..
